Ok let me explain it this way. I have had at least 100 people comment on the fact that I must be left-handed. That would make over 100 people that are wrong. So here's the million dollar question that you need to ask yourself. "Why do I think this person must be left-handed?"

I know that I'm not supergamecubedude, and I know that you use the numpad because you like a grid feel, (If I heard you right...) but it coulda had to do with putting the mouse on the LEFT side of the key board, so your RIGHT hand could be on the right side of the key board without crossing your hands.

Ugh I tried playing this a while ago... and I was having bad memories coming back of Resident Evil 4 on the PC when it came to the control scheme. The character's way too close and far off-center, and turns and aims so damn slowly with the mouse. This game is a good example of what not to do when making a third-person shooter.

Actually I got some interesting information on how this game was ported to the PC. Originally the aiming schema was pretty well the same as with all FPS games (TPS being a subset of FPS) except since this was originally a console game, they wanted to "stay consistent with aiming difficulty of a console controller" (paraphrase, not actual quote). So they took the version of Deadspace that worked GREAT, and added a severe delay in pointer control. True story. O_o

@Arm4g3dd0nX I kinda liked that aspect of the game to be honest. And the fact the guy is so close and off-center. It adds a lot to the tension and scare factor of the game. At first it really irritated me, but then I realised I don't think I'd have found it half as scary if it weren't for those particular design features - it felt like I was always at a disadvantage compared to the necromorphs. This game scared me shitless. Though I'm a pussy.

An annoying thing about this game is that the melee is practically useless. For some reason i have this view that if the melee attack in a shooter i not decent then theres no point in having it.

@rossmartin10 actually if you get a necromorph with a melee then you can keep hitting it and the necro cant do anythign if your quick enough and you will end up killing it eventually its a great tactic for one on one combat if you want to save ammo but it takes practice

There are a great number of reasons and arguments on both sides. The overall consensus is that ESDF and Numpad are more efficient than WASD when it comes to faster response time and reduction of error. A LOT of people like arguing with this. They don't actually try doing a Google search on the topic though so I end up having to link them a bunch of websites... like Wikipedia, that agrees with me.

@fishworshipper Wikipedia is reliable enough, since moderators look over edits to make sure nobody write anything stupid, and they want you to verify your info using other sources. They even claim that info is unreliable when there are no links proving your info. In other words, Wiki is an easy way to get info from 5 thousand OTHER sites, that don't allow everybody to edit it at will. While it CAN be flawed, I usually find it to be fairly reliable.

I once had someone who I consider very smart tell me that peer reviewed articles, that are published in world renowned scientific journals, isn't a reliable source for knowledge. I saw it saying online that Vsync being on cause lag with your mouse.

I turned it off and found it much more responsive.

I honestly didnt know this game was on PC. It and Gears of War are the games that i cringe most when i think of playing it on a mouse and keyboard. I know u like computers and junk but i have to say it. Controllers FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know you dont like it but still. I shudder at the thought. Also I want to reccomend The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind. it kicks asphault. also if you get it get the expansions with it. And if u dont do that then heres my request for more Fallout 3.
