piece of advice. As soon as you touch metal. you dont need to worry about static. the amount of continues walking on carpet and other stuff to build up enough static to discharge again would take so long. @atvking535 Well, all parts were purchased in late February/early March of last year, so the same parts are probably cheaper now. Or you can get a better part for the same price.

The parts shown in this video were around $1,100 at that time. I think I paid another $90 or so for another 4GB of RAM (to max it out to 8GB) about six months ago though. I also paid $290 for a 22" LCD monitor shortly after building the computer, though I bought one of the more expensive monitors.

Around $1,500 total.

@IpodCY I am running windows 7 on most of my machines, the only bug I have found is an issue with wired Ethernet internet connections, so I go all wireless. I think this is an issue with my router though, if your router came out after 7, you should be good to go, but don't take my word for it.

If you're worried about it keeping you from falling asleep, I would say these fans could but just a bit noisy if the computer is on a HARDWOOD FLOOR DIRECTLY next to your bed, with no cloth or anything to absorb the sound, AND if you're the type of person that has to have absolute quiet to sleep, but otherwise, they are NOT loud at all.

I have mine in my living room, and I only notice the sound when I am thinking about it.

you put the ram in wrong. its in the socket correctly but do you see how u have orange slots and black slots? ur supposed them in the same color if u have only two sticks, for example, both in orange, or both in black. ull notice a difference.

Haha. U think ur scared! Whoo, I remember when I made my first computer I put the processor in. I thought it was really cool how all the pins fit perfectly so I took it out again and looked at it. Not smart, I accidentaly dropped it onto the mobo. XD I got soo freaking scared and all the pins were bent!! I had to bend all the individual pins back with a tweezer and pins. Jeez, one of the scariest moments building my computer. Now it's just put the CPU in and push the freaking lock in. Haha!

When you were getting cranky because ur disk drives weren't working I was thinking straight away.. you haven't formatted your drives LOL but you worked it out in the end obviously! But why such a old monitor lol you obviously spent some cash on the graphics card, A new screen would be the cake :P

Any reason to why you went with 3, 500Gb HD?? Should have just went a Terabyte HD having more HD's just creates more heat. Oh and to others if you want more than 4Gb of RAM u'll need a 64 Bit CPU Chip
