  • "Even a dream of a love affair for one night is fine, a woman can make an eternity out of it."

Yeah, like in Fatal Attraction, WHERE THE CRAZY BITCH STALKS AND TRIES TO KILL THE MAN SHE SLEPT WITH.

  • Is it ever explained anywhere how Abyss lost his daughter, why he specifically targets young women who kill because of love, what he is exactly, etc?

  • @Mewstarangel Yes, in Side E, it is explained that El is very sick. When she dies (after Abyss) she goes to heaven and he to hell and he is forever searching for her because he wishes for them to be together once more. Searching for the other girls (Their song titles all make up the word "abyss) represent the sins that create the hell :"Abyss" which is one and the same with the heaven "Elysion". Believing that by creating this he and El will be together; but they are forever destined to be apart

  • @Mewstarangel Abyss and El are people but they are physical representations of "Elysion" and "Abyss" a heaven and hell sort of concept. They are portrayed as father and daughter, and later are sort of.... souls? Like when Abyss goes around to collect the five ABYSS girls, he and El have already died at this point.

  • The 3-1+1-2 is that there were 3 people in the family (Yield, her mother and her father), then she killed her father (-1), found out that her mother was pregnant with a boy (+1), then proceeded to kill her pregnant mother (-2). that the story i heard.

  • This is my take on the song: The girl has a one night tryst with her father in winter, and after that the relations between her, her father, and her mother become increasingly strained (by secrets, suspicions, etc). The girl becomes convinced that the only way to return stability is to remove one of the 3; it doesn't matter which, the two that remain will have a stable relationship. The tragedy is that her math goes wrong when the man in the mask appears and takes her away, leaving one alone.

  • @DanteDevat Sorry to respond to myself, but I didn't have enough space to mention some important details that led me to this conclusion. After she describes her equation, there still seems to be a decision she needs to make about "which one to exclude". I think Sound Horizon may have intentionally not specified who she chose to bring the listener into her deliberation, and perhaps the lines about which is most unfortunate and who was left alone is part of this too.

  • @DanteDevat Please think what you like; but since the song is vague most of what is assumed is never even mentioned, we can only assume that we are all wrong because there is no >right< answers ever stated in the song. One can only think of possible outcomes and reasons and link together pieces from other albums and songs that make sense.

  • @invaderjupitor If there were a >right< answer these songs wouldn't be so interesting, right? I was merely suggesting an alternate theory that sits a bit better with me than the standard interpetation (both parents lose their heads). When I picture this story unfolding as the song plays I just can't find a place to fit two separate cuts. It also leaves too many loose ends (who was left behind, why does she need to reduce people to numbers, etc.) However, this is just my interpretation.

  • @invaderjupitor Anyway, I appreciate the effort that went into translating this, as I can tell a lot of thought went into it. Indeed, the apparent sincerity of the translation is why I've been looking at all the videos you've made of Elysion to see if they give me an alternate perspective from other translations.

  • @DanteDevat I've very glad you've enjoyed my translations and think so kindly of them. I have put in much effort to ensure I can provide the best and more accurate subs to people; and I'm very happy that has reached across to someone. Thank you.

  • My favourite song from Elysion! Love the bagpipe sound of intro!!!

  • kinda reminded me of 'School days' still..sound horizon is amazing, there needs to be a new word just to describe it's awesomeness

  • Then when she went to meet her lover again "her fruitless behavior, will you laugh at it" but he rejected her. So her last decisions is to kill him and her self.

Thats the way I think it is the story

  • @KotomiBaltrun No, unfortunately there is no such mentioning. I really have done a great deal of research into each song and have been revising and perfecting for many years, from all that I have concluded what I stated above. But believe as you will.

  • @KotomiBaltrun

    the story is more like:

-girl falls in love with her father

    -fantasizes

    -they are farmers

-when her mother and father find out, of course it's rejected

-girl kills parents and cuts of their heads

  • I read over and over your subbing, but don´t understand the summary *sigh*

It seems more to me, that the girl fell in Love with someone, who has already a lover, because of her desire to be with him, she spent a night with him. Then she can´t stand the fact, there is another woman beneath her an decide to kill her.

So "3-1+1-2" seems that she kills her rival in love.

  • @KotomiBaltrun This is the vaguest of all the songs. You must not be very familiar with Sound Horizon's style of storytelling or about the overall details of the ELYSION album. It was implied in the song and usage of the wording. It's hard to put in English since phrases/terms are implied differently with the japanese characters. This explanation is the most widely accepted among fans of sound horizon. I'm not really sure what you're after by telling me all this.

  • ; ^ ; For some reason, I love Abyss' voice in the beginning <3

  • What's about Yield's story? I've been looking for it but I couldn't find anything >__< It would be great understand the song ^-^ Good job with the subs!

  • listening to this for like, the 20th time today, lol, i keep skipping to the song, dancing in circles, while my sister looks at me like a i have a third eye, lol

  • @ethickca Lawl, I like to put it on repeat and listen to it at night because the music is so pretty and relaxing. It's one of my most beloved favorites, so I can totally understand listening to it so many times XD

  • Awesome job, though i think this video needs to be watched more... i mean come on subbing this takes a lot of time... Right?

  • @kuno9382 Thank you so much! I hope it ends up being watched a lot, but I'm happy with a little views. It does take a while to sub because there's so many steps to it; translation, timing, editing, adjusting, creating the appearances. Plus, I went ahead and did three separate kinds of subs, that's quite a bit of typing. It used to take me days to do it, but now I'm pretty good at it. This one was done in one night.

  • hehe i love this song, i always sing it in karaoke ! << lame

  • @shinigamimomo Pfft. You know you feel so cool when you sing this :B

  • Awesome! It great to listen to this again XD
