... I lived once in South Buffalo/Lackawanna N.Y. when the great machines of industry filled the air with a deep rumbling din puncuated by a plethora of steam whistleswhich presented varied notes from every octive and scale. The land itself heaved with a power which seemed larger than life itself! Train yards filled w/activity as far as my eyes could see. And above it all great clouds of steam rose up in plumes and danced w/the sun as if this tune would last 4 ever... Now. Gone
