oohh, OK thanks. do you think it's better than the elite stingray 15 because my tank came with that and i've been considering using that as a spare and getting a u3- i think you get better and finer filtration.
Thanks for posting this video. I've been looking into starting another tank, but didn't want another hob filter. Didn't know anything about the Fluval, so this was pretty informative for me. I like the different settings for the output. Can it be placed horizontally near the bottom of the tank without interfering too much with my smaller plants?
Hi, i have a custom made aquarium that is around 115 L. The problem i have is it is only 13 inch tall. and iv'e seen online that is filter is 29.5 cm in height, if thats correct? i was just wondering could i place this filter in the tank with the bottom of the filter touching the glass/sand bottom? or would i be best getting two U2 filters which are shorter in height and put one each end of the aquarium?
i love this filter i cant even hear it and it works perfect for my 20 gallon turtle tank i have the U3 im thinking about getting the U1 for more filtration
@lo0nyk I'd go with the U3. The more times you turn over your tank each hour, the better. You can't overfilter a tank :). Please just ask if you have any more questions. Chris
I'm still using my default internal filter system for my Juwel but have upgraded the Bioflow 400 to a Bioflow 600. Looks like it's nice and easy to maintain too. I assume you don't have to include the carbon filters when running it as they'd strip out all plant fertilisers?
@Nickp5954 Yeah, I'd definitely recommend it. I'm not sure about PetSmart however, seeing as I am from the UK. It set me back £30, so I would estimate $40-$50. Hope this helps, Chris.
Thats a good question, I should have included it in the video. The Fluval U3 is a very quiet filter, but if you have the venturi tap turned on, it can be quite noisy. Any more questions, please ask. Chris
are external or internal filters quieter?

excuse me i have been using this filter for a month iam saying that this is a good filter but my tank getting cloudy these days why ?
rengi02 5 months ago
@rengi02 Could be a number of reasons. Have you checked to see if the filter is clogged? The filter pads might need cleaning or replacing.
ChrisJoEllis94 5 months ago
@ChrisJoEllis94 iam sure its not clogged . I do clean it twice a week and about the pads i cant afford to replace them every month .
