Seriously LMAO. Dude I swear don't do anymore of this videos. You look so stupid. Are you looking for attention? Dude go clubs and meet girls. Stop wasting time on some thing that even you don't understand what you are talking about. You are embarrassing yourself, but serious this made my day. My wife and I are laughing hysterically man.
Linux, simple. It does everything I need the way I need it done. Easy to manage, zero crashes less harddrive space lost to the OS alone and a whole lot better customizations :) And I can even play my favorite games through Wine. Would not mind some native ones but meeh, it works.
I have a Linux system a Macbook Pro and a windows machine. I think Linux is the best but i prefer to use the Mac. its very Linux like in alot of ways. but unlike LInux it has a very large amount of comercial vendors and apple support is the best by far. every try putting in a warranty claim with dell or hp? yeh you will be wishing you had an apple when it comes time to file a warranty claim. LInux is fantastic but when it comes to new hardware its always a day late and a dollar short.
I work with Windows every day as part of my job, so I really get to see the ins and outs of that operating system. As a result, I hate it. I think Windows is not that bad, 7 is nice, etc... but spare me, I avoid it at all costs on my home computers.
Mac is too nazi driven and closed minded to even consider using. I even own a Mac laptop and I say that.
With Linux I can make my computer do whatever I need to with ease. It's the clear winner.
Linux is free, not free as in free beer but free as in freedom you can have the power on your computer not like in Windows you cant do anything with it.
Skerew mac to much iCandy windows ok meets needs for games and some work linux is best because of everything about it and oh ya did I mention EVERYTHING is FREE!
for noob,, were i can start with linux.. i am afread after i install it i wont be able to find it friendly.. and hard to use.. is there like a blug or good guide site?
To a beginer for a mainly use, I recommend ubuntu linux. For tutorials and etc. use ubuntu forum's. Goggle on it. See video's here in youtube for ubuntu. Please read the FAQ always.
Actually there is a music player called Songbird that has a lot of support for iPod devices. Also there is other applications to work for iPods and other MP3 devices, so your statement isn't true
Why pay for something that you can get for free in Linux, especially when it has a smaller footprint, uses resources more efficiently, doesn't have a registry that can cripple the machine, and no activation? MS also has a dubious track record in security.
When you're an building many systems day in day out, to get Linux up with full Office suite etc, takes about 40 mins including all updates, while Windows takes nearly an hour just to install the OS itself let alone patches and apps on top.
What is it with you die hard, uptight linux fanboys? You either like to exagerate with how bad Windows is or u haven't really used it recently......1 hour install?Lol dude....Windows 7 installs in under 12 min and it gets all ur drivers via windows update so u that u have a fully featured OS when ur done.....stop being so dorky and uptight about this and stop putting Linux on a pedestal....used it for 3 months,it has TONS of FLAWS AND BUGS,swearing me would just prove my point!Good day:)
I'm not exaggerating at all - I use Windows everyday at work, and I run Windows 7 in a VM for evaluation. Windows 7 certainly does NOT install in 12 minutes and there is extra time on top to install additional patches. Windows 7 is NOT a full-featured OS - it does not come with an Office package for starters. Microsoft addresses more bugs on a weekly basis than Linux does and Microsoft has far more "critical" fixes released than Linux does. Don't delude yourself.
you're exagerating big time, trust me,I have win 7 on both my eeepc and my main pc and it performs wonderfully.,and I have yet to find a glitch in it..boots much faster tat ubuntu 8.10 ever did,and instalation is,like I said,a 12-14 min thing.U should know bttr than comparing it with it's performanca in vmware man,(it's like saying all ps2 suck just cuz they skip frames in ur emulator).Try installing it natively and then get back to me..Windows rlly got around with this one,it's not another Vista
Windows 7 does not boot quicker than Ubuntu. Windows only gets to a login screen faster than Ubuntu, that's it. After login, the HDD is still rattling away loading MORE software - it's all a visual trick, nothing more. With Ubuntu, the hard-drive stops. Login is login - no more loading.
You cannot compare virtualisation to emulation - they are two completely different things. A native Windows installation always loses hands down to a virtualised one - on the same hardware too!
Then I sincerly hope Ubuntu will do the same "visual bakground bootup trick" just as Win 7,because.....as long as it boots faster and as long as I can open programs faster, that in my book it counts as a "faster bootup",and I care not if it still loads some stuff in the background....it instantly loads all my programs/network/internet in ur "tricky bootup",so it's good enough for me....
Ubuntu doesn't need to do any tricky boot sequence. Programs are small enough that they appear instantly or near-instantly as it is - no need to go madly caching everything, especially if I'm not likely to use it for that session. Things are only cached when you actually use them. As far as I'm concerned, the bootup has finished when the hard-drive has stopped loading data.
try ext4 on ubuntu 9.04 or 9.10... it just barely beats windows 7 on the same machine. Microsoft Optimized their driver loading technology. Before it used to load one driver at a time, now it threads the drivers so they can be loaded at the same time. Still, Microsoft finally innovated in the right direction with windows 7. Running the full version and I have yet to have a bug. But every OS has its purpose:
well put(I have used ubuntu 9.04 on ext4 for some months though....it's good, but windows 7 is just....I don't know....friendlier.....I like to use yahoo messenger without adding tons of native dlls to wine)
I'm just talkin boot time there haha. I use both Ubuntu and Windows 7 on a day-to-day basis. I have Ubuntu on my school laptop (computer science major) and Windows 7 on my desktop for gaming and editing things.
Point is, at the end of the day, Ubuntu, Mac, and Windows can do everything by themselves. But Windows Support is much easier to find.
Ultimate Edition 2.1 is built based off Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex (daily build), by hand, it is w/o a doubt gorgeous Gamers edition (x86 based). Ultimate Edition 2.1 is loaded to the hilt with themes, wallpapers, icon sets, gdm login screens, and Usplashe
Linux is the ultimate OS for serious computing, but also it can be used for trivial internet stuff. I personally dual boot with windows (it came with the computer) but windows to me acts very much like a gaming console, I just use it for that.
Linux is extremely Customizable, Safe and free, besides that linux is constantly evolving, its being already alble to run a ton of windows programs and more are being added every.
BY me i testesd along side windows vista linux xp etc so on and yes the newest version of windows 7 build 7025 when it comes out should be faster than xp
Yeh i am using LInux right now and mac is perfect for media and it would also be nice if ubuntu made a movie editor like mac open source would be nice or charge cause i would pay for linux :)
mac for sure. best for exacly what i need it for. youtubing, video and music editing. :P Pc doesnt even compare. well, some programs are okay, but i prefer my mac over any pc any day, even if a new PC has microsoft 7 on it :P.
I am a pc and mac user, so im not biased, Mac is AMAZING for what i use it for. Which is why i find it practical. :)
I use Windows on my main computer, and Linux Mint on my old computer. I highly recommend Mint for four reasons:

2. GUI is more like Windows, which people migrating from Windows to Linux may want
3. Codecs such as Java/Flash pre-installed, so you can watch youtube vids straight away, unlike in Windows/Ubuntu, where you have to download and install them

reason to use windows: plays all your games and compatible with netflix.

"Linux MultiMedia Studio" or LMMS is a great Linux program for making music..
LMMS is a free cross-platform alternative to commercial programs like FL Studio
You can download it from the Software Center under Applications... it's really cool.
