  • I wasn't around in the 80s, but luckily my dad had a spectrum which he kept hold of for a while. Some of my earliest memories are of playing this game.

  • @SupahMunch Your dad had good taste in computers and games. Not an easy game for a youngster to play but it has a certain appeal.

  • Rule number 1.....Never play Dizzy without the music

  • One of my favourite games ever, lol was my fave dizzy game on my spectrum 128k

  • Why without AY-music ?

  • I love this version of this game the most where the night sky is full of wonders and the environmental sound is funny.

  • Namco classics

  • YAY! i want ZX Spectrum now!

  • @Kuula10 Go for it man. Buying all the games will cost you a fortune.

  • @SPINNYFUCK how much would it cost to get at least this game: Spellbound Dizzy?

  • @craneywatch You should be able to get this game for about £3 - £5. It's not rare or anything. The 5 game boxed collection would be another matter. No idea how much that would go for.

  • @SPINNYFUCK thanks man, Did you get it from E-bay or some sort of website?

  • @craneywatch @craneywatch I bought the boxed collection when it originally came out for £9.99. I was looking around and just found out this game was only released as part of the Dizzy Excellent Adventures compilation. The Dizzy Collection ( which is before this one) is up on ebay for £2.99 at the moment. Let's say £15 is a fair price for 5 games in a nice cardboard box.

  • @SPINNYFUCK thank you for answering my questions. And thank you for sharing those Nastalgic games. Boy how I loved them. I guess I still do.

  • @craneywatch You're welcome mate. Some people moved on to other systems. I just stuck with the speccy. I'm surprised that speccy fans aren't putting up more videos. I will never forget all the fun I had back in the 80's. Great times!

  • Dizzy Prince of the Yolkfolk was best, c os I actually completed that, without cheating.

  • great days!

  • You can easily play the Amstrad version instead. That has a 64k or 128k mode too and the game is almost identical. The only difference are the colours really.

  • @andyukmonkey Yes, and the Amstrad's colors were better than usual for this game. You should see how cool Dizzy looks wearing the scuba gear, as it makes use of the fourth color!

  • Dizzy games in Spectrum format are still the best. I tried innovated dizzy games, they don't have that glomour which old Dizzy games have. Especially that jumping sound. I miss them a lot!

  • man.. I'm gonna cry.. I so loved all dizzy series..

  • Same here, apart from the crying, lol! You can't beat a bit of Dizzy. Classic gaming and great times!

  • IIRC this is the 48k version. The 128k version had better graphics as well as sound (more animation)

  • I can't remember mate. I put this up a while ago, but I will be re-doing it at some stage. I think you are right though, because I played it on the +3 and seem to remember revolving stars when Dizzy fell.

  • Yeah, there were spinning stars and a load of other little enhancements. The music was pretty good on the 128k as well. If you find a 128k snapshot of it, let me know, as its "distribution denied - grr!!"

  • It's coming back to me now, lol! Distribution denied indeed! What is it with some of those software houses? Please Mr Darling twins, can you undeny your games!

  • The thing that makes it all the more annoying is that Philip and Andrew Oliver don't really care about people sharing their old games anymore, it's just Codemasters preventing it.

  • How about a Spellbound playthrough? :)

  • I will get round to it at some point - massive game though!

  • OMFG, I used to have a Spectrum ZX 128K, I loved it! Except it took an age to load lol Dizzy was my fave game, thanks for uploading, I have had a retro flashback!

  • The loading was the best part. It's when it crashed or the game loaded which was the disappointment. The Dizzy games are some of the best games ever! Cheers!

  • WTF! Go away.

  • You are clearly retarded.

  • Go fuck yourself and stay away, you whore! Your videos are shit and so are you. Go to fuck!

  • "YOU LOSE A LIFE!", I love that, it's like the game is trying to wind you up :D.

  • I remember the versio found in the "dizzy's Excellent Adventures" pack being a lot more smaller than the full-release :).

Brilliant game, and I love the idea of the added wind-shaft, making the game harder for a good reason :D, with the idea of Dizzy carrying more bolders to drop down at a faster pace, and less to slow down.

  • Yeah got to agree. Many an hour was spent on

dizzy in those days. Great fun.

  • wow loved these games as a kid tresure island dizzy was my fave!thx for posting this brings back some good 128k memorys like

    10.print^*^,

  • Treasure Island Dizzy was my favourite as well out of all of them!

  • i remember having a few of these games. great memories.

  • Dizzy games were great but I think they ended just at the right time. Especially with Crystal Kingdom Dizzy.

  • lol

  • that is a great game and i played that on a emulator quicker then u lol

  • It sure is a great game. Hadn't played it for years so couldn't really remember what you had to do.

  • hey goto my page and add me as a freind and i used to have the 1st dizzy on zx spectrum and completed it hugs 2 u

  • Such a great series of games.

    Thanks for posting!

  • Definitely Codemasters finest moment. Cheers mate!
