That was amazing. I've never seen an HOV lane transition up and over the freeway and rejoin traffic again but from the right side of the road. Also the barriers seperating the HOV from the general lanes goes quite a long way. If you don't get out early enough, you can miss a lot of exits!
@adogg619 the design is refered in texas as a HOY Y Interchange . it was first designed on texas roadways in the city of houston back in the early 1990s when the north freeway expansion and HOV system was built.
@wipandco You'd think the greedy SOB's would appreciate the exposure, it's not like that was a popular song, and heck they sampled another song to make it, oh the irony.
@Themadfarter1976 Part of the reason for the light traffic was that I shot this late morning on a Sunday. Dallas is the city most similar to Atlanta that I've seen, I think ATL may be a little nicer overall though due to the greenery and rolling hills in the area but I do like Dallas very much.
@Themadfarter1976 The roads are practically empty on a late Sunday morning because 95% of the people in the area are in church. No joke! This is a huge Southern Baptist area. Dallas is similar to Atlanta as far as the freeway infrastructure goes. Atlanta is bit nicer like FreewayJim said; because when in Dallas, Mother Nature suffers from bipolar disorder.
glad you were able to show that newer section of I-30 through Oak Cliff, which is actually very nice and modern. Really nice aesthetic. Don't know if you're aware, but that I-30 Bridge over the Trinity is soon o be replaced and was going to be an arching Calatrava Bridge. There was a congressional earmark for it, so now it will be a plain bridge. If wondering why cable stayed bridges over the Trinity, its because they wanted to span the to be built park. Now it is up to fundraising.
@0marigolds Thank you! II had to cut the first minute of the song off to make that timing at 2:57 work. I figured if I'm going to call it a "remix" then the video out to be spruced up a bit :)
Hey Freewayjim, 10251991JRH here. I got a special announcement to tell you. A few days ago I went over to the east side of Houston to pick up a passenger while I was riding Metro. I saw the finishing touches on the beltway 8 eastbound lanes after you pass by the US 59 (Eastex Freeway) interchange. But there is so far to go on the construction for the hi-five ramp to build. I haven't checked the Beltway 8-US 90 (Beaumont Hwy) interchange. Oh, and they will have toll booths with EZ-Tags, too.
@10251991JRH well i have personally have not got out there yet to record is simply because the freeway is not entirely complete , but you can see the Crosby here youtube dot com /watch?v=FHtJSvLHrQo
When I first moved to Dallas I loved driving on US-75 because of the design. Texans really do put in alot of work into there freeways. But before I left at the end of May 2010. I noticed they were building extra rds/overpasses on the 75/30/35e intersection. And the bridge (loop thing) is something new to me. I will get to see it next mth when i'm in the area. Thks for posting @ Freewayjim.
Texas is amazing

Is it me, or compared to Atlanta the roads look empty. Just curious to know of you found Dallas to be nicer than Atlanta?
