Maggotropolis: You probably knew it already, but Avalon is created & directed by the same guy that did the Ghost In The Shell -films. All of Mamoru Oshii's films are (in a good way) very similar.

most of you may not know but the actress is Malgorzata Foremniak - in Poland mostly known her role in For The Good and Bad (Na Dobre i na Zle), where she play a anaesthesiologist, te series were slightly similar to ER

and Countrisde Hospital (Czechoslovakian hit series).

there is a National Cinematics Fund here in Poland, and well the newes sponsored by them movie , called KATYN, about the massmurdering of polish officers & scientists by the soviets, will be a hit! but mostly we do bullshiting pseudo drama stories...

The worst thing in Polish cinemtics are poor scifi movies, exceptions are Avalon and Arche. the Witcher movie had the worst sfx you would ever see... godzilla toy-like baby dragon was the a power jump down the toilet... touhg the book saga was a best seller in Poland (thanks to the action and sesne of humour, and the plot of course).
