I shared about it in class the next day because not many people from my home room were in the same group. My teacher asked to see me after class. She's a Mormon and she asked if it was ok that I was in that group. I wanted to cry, but I said it was fine. I liked the group.
I'm bisexual, I hardly like christians because most are Homophobic. The ones I do like doesn't care about my sexual orientation. I use to be a Mormon until I found out the racism and Homophobic views. My friend is christian, when I told her she cryed. Not because she thought I was going to hell, but because I kept it from her for a while (Well, I don't know if she thinks I'm going to go to hell.) In school we had this thing, we were in groups and I was put in a group about homosexuality.
@thepursuitblog What do you mean by you still feel "the act" of homosexuality is biblical. There's no such thing. Homosexuality has nothing to do with sex before/ after marriage. There's a word for that. It's called fornication. And that is neither homosexual or heterosexual.
The Bible is very clear homosexuality is something not to be promoted as equal to a man and woman relationship Both the OT and the NT repeat this. This is not picking and choosing some of the Laws under the Jewish system are antiquated and not included in the NT but homosexuality is included in both. But no religion or belief is needed, it is self evident that a man was designed to be with a woman not another man.
How refreshing. As an atheist gay person, I don't care what drove you to it, but am glad you found acceptance. My experience with x-ians has not been a good one, and it may have driven me deeper into non-belief. No regrets, I'm happy with my 'lack of faith'. Have a nice day. : )
God understands and can deliver from homosexualtiy. Ofcourse God still loves them, but you have to accept that this lifestyle is wrong and your are in need of healing. There's no sugar coating the truth! God never made anyone gay, just like he never mad anyone hetero. We were born in free will having the option to choose Life or death...Its black or white, no grey in between!
Beware of false teachers that promote homosexuality as it is truly a sin.
Again godmademegaydotcom.I was drove out of church because of the hate of homosexuality.Sad thing is that ruined everything for me.I see a church steeple and feel sadness. But the website above changed my thinking. It will yours too.please sir, making these videos go and find the truth. If we were able to live like you things would be different!Alot of hate would be abolished. If someone is trully gay.theres no changing it.Just like if you are hetero.I would have been married for 28 yrs now if only..
@VenomFagXYZ It's obvious you have been hurt by people in the past. And since you can get back at all those people from your past, you come to youtube to attack the opinions of others in an attempt to relieve yourself from some of that held in anger. If you think I am going to spend my day being your verbal punching bag, you got me wrong. Find someone else to take the bait. Take Care.
Good video. One thing that stood out for me is your idea that all sex outside of marriage is sinful. What is marriage to you? Are homosexuals excluded from marriage? Thanks!
The term "homosexual" is a clinical term that is used to denigrate gay people. Although, in the context of your speech that obviously wasn't your intention. Still, I'm not sure why you aren't saying "gay" or "gay and lesbian".
Christians need to keep in mind that they CHOSE to be religious. You aren't born religious. (Most likely you were indoctrinated into religion when you were a child.) As such, claiming that homosexuality is a sin, is an opinion not fact. Something to keep in mind.
@nazineful -- When did our society begin to follow anything in Leviticus? Oh that's right... we never have. So why are you using outdated scripture to support your chosen bigotry? The Bible also supports slavery, selling your children, and polygamy. So why aren't you following those beliefs? It must be nice to be able to pick and choose whatever parts of the Bible you want to follow. YOU are exactly why I'm not religious. You use the Bible to justify your hatred and discrimination of people.
New Testament: Romans 1:26-27 26 Because people did those things, God left them and let them do the shameful things they wanted to do. Women stopped having natural sex and started having sex with other women.27 In the same way, men stopped having natural sex and began wanting each other. Men did shameful things with other men, and in their bodies they received the punishment for those wrongs.
I dont hate gays, neither does God - Hates the sin, but loves the person
Love and kindness is the way to draw people to Christ. Christ said he came to save the world not condemn it. I feel people who engage in homosexuality are no different than people who engage in pre-marital sex, lies, corporate greed, shedding the blood of the innocent or abuse children. No one is without sin. The way the world is going homosexuality is the least of my worries. On a daily basis I worry about high bank fees and charges, not a homosexual who isn't even worried about me.
If the belief in God allows you to live a happy, morally sound life without harming the happiness of another human being, kudos. If you do not need God to live a good, happy life without harming the happiness of another human being or that being's chance at happiness, kudos to you as well.
I dont believe in God.But if you do, you cannot deny that all He would want us all to live happily, without harming each other's chance at happiness, regardless of your creed.
i've had bad and good experiences. i was purposely excluded from being a member of my local church, which made me feel bad. i then went to a Unitarian church, and was accepted, so i do not believe that all christians feel this way. the bible is open to interpretation, and jesus' commandment was to love one another as he loves all of us. the main point i have to make, is what matters is Deed not Creed. the story of the good samaritan is most famous biblical example.
I myself, am a gay 15 year old, who just got saved 3 months ago. I always grew up thinking that I was going to end up in hell for eternity, for the feelings I was having. And the hatred shown towards the gay community in the church was quite ridiculous. They treat the subject like its the worst sin in the book. I was shattered growing up as a child because the feelings I had were against the facts I was taught. But recently I found a youth group with amaz
as a 51yr old, athiest now, I grew up catholic...and thought and behaved towards religion as you do now......I appreciate your candidness.....and openness.....its refreshing...maybe thats why im not longer a beleiver.....religion started to sound hateful, and judgemental...I can say I probably lost my faith in the early 80's....hmmm, coincedently When the Republicans and religious Right started thier BS.....Peace
ur a great person, a true example of a christian! and please pray for me i am gay and i want to be delivered from it,,,,, i have already recieved the baptism of the holy spirit and it hurts to know im still gay, please pray for me thank you God bless
I don't know if the young man in the video reads all the comments posted here. But I hope he reads mine. The challenge for you is to try to reconcile your interpretation of Biblical scripture with the actions of humanitarian people who wholeheartedly affirm the lives of gay people (including ALL the heterosexual Christians who support LGBT people). You are young, so you will have time to see how the moral arc of social justice ever increasingly favors gay rights over repressive Christianity.
A good a parallel for you to consider is the work of Martin Luther King, Jr. (who also was once a seminarian). He and others like him dealt with bigoted white Christians who used the Bible to justify their repressive treatment of black Americans (racist thoughts and racist actions). While being gay and black aren't necessarily the same thing (even if you can be both!), I think you're able to get the analogy: a struggle rooted in radical love can win people over, including bigoted Christians.
I could spew similar "venom" as many who have posted here but I will forego childish insults and simply challenge you to rethink your stance on the popular interpretation of the Bible's "clobber" verses. If you're open to it, and have access to Netflix, I highly recommend the documentary "Fish Out of Water" which touches on each of the alleged condemning passages and why there is a vast difference between the acts described in them and modern LGBT unions based on agape love and commitment.
I dont care what anyone says. I am an 18 year old bisexual AND a christain. That is why i struggle so much. Becasue i believe in god and i try to live for him. And i know that homosexuality isnt praised in the bible but, like you said, God loves all humans. And i believe that everything happens for a reason and God has a plan for all of us. Thank you so much for posting this video. Stay strong in your beliefs. :)
Lol, foks. I am a Quaker. We have been right about every civil rights movement for about 400 years. Gay rights too. Our batting record is perfect. Jesus taught us to love all. To forgive. I think EVERYONE should be more afraid of the moneychangers in the temples. You temple, our temple. Besides, in America, all men are created equal.
maybe man twisted the word of god in the bible for their own convenience and they chose wat was "moral" and "immoral". besides, only straight ppl were allowed to write the bible excluding gays and women thats my thought
You are an amazing person. I have never met another Christian who has so much understanding and sympathy toward homosexuals. If more church leaders were like you, more homosexuals would be Christian. Thank you for this video :)
I am a gay female, but I am also a Christian. I am a believer in God but I no longer try to live by the bible. I feel that I know in my heart what is right and wrong and that god will lead me in life. My church pushed me away from Christianity showing me text from the bible that made me feel doomed for hell. But in the end, I always run back to God.
as a lesbian, christians don't scare me. i have many good, christian friends who love and accept all people, which is what a christian (in my mind) should and would do. believe what you want, but love all people.
Christianity doesn't scare me. Christians do. I grew up in the Church, and I still am, and I'm a homosexual Atheist. I've been hurt a lot by the Church, and I have been mistreated. When people tell me they're Christian I get a little shy, I don't tell them I'm gay or a nonbeliever openly, because I'm generally afraid of them hating me. I don't hate Christians, they're generally good people when they practice what they preach. Thank you, just for existing.
Not a lot of Christians have been too nice to me. (Except of course the beer drinking, Nascar loving kind that try and make me make out with their girlfriend...fancy that..) But it hasn't really harmed my relationship with God. He thinks I'm strong enough to handle it, so if HE has faith in me, I certainly need to have faith in him.
The Bible prohibits homosexual prostitution. What does it say about homosexual love as we understand it today? "Jonathan was knit to the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as himself."
While it's nice of you to try and excuse most Christian's very UN-Christ-like behavior, there IS NO excuse for these unfortunates. I get even thinking of the HELL these folks must be living in with hearts so full of hate and violence. Homosexuality is no more 'touchy' a subject than heterosexuality. Homosexuality, like heterosex. is a GIFT from God. God BLESSES us with our given sexuality and God EXPECTS us to have sex, whether you're married or not. It's your UNDERSTANDING of it that is wrong.
why do christian always put other religion down? the christian that i know for the most always called other religion idolatrous which mean worshipping a person or a thing not god. they always say other religion is manmade and they say all sort of things like all sin can be forgive but the only the can't be forgive is not believing in god in which christianity is the religion that believe in the TRUE GOD
Im a teenage lesbian christian. Ive been told over and over i have to choose between them. Ive been physically hurt by the "christian kids" at school. My parents tell me im going to hell. Ive been told the devil has a hold on my soul and i have a demonic presence in me causing me to choose this. Noone chooses discrimination...
Thanks so much for this video man. I grew up in a family where I was taught that god hates homosexuals and that they will never change and when these feeling towards men started to come I felt sick about myself. I thought there was no hope and considered suicide a lot but was to scared to do it. This started around fifth grade. I learned how wrong these people and my parents were when I found in first Corinthians chapter six where it talked about all these type of people, homosexuals included,
I cannot wrap my mind around the fact that people believe we are a lesser type of human, because we love someone who has the same anatomy. I don't judge heterosexuals based on the fact that they prefer the opposite sex. It is one small characteristic of your entire being. It does not define you, it does not determine your character. Much like people believed african americans were inferior once upon a time, this country is repeating this sad mistake they've made before.
@teenjunk that is really ignorant, which is why I don't choose to label myself as a Christian anymore. Ever hear of Mathew 7:3, "Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?" If you were a so called "Christian" you would realize that YOU have no place to judge or make comments like that, only your God does.
I totally identify with you. I am a graduating senior, and have been in JROTC for the last 4 years- before then, i was kind of closed off to homosexuals..but a year ago, i met my friend Brittani, encouraged her to come out, and at that time in my faith, she was dragging ME to church every day. no matter what we do, or who we are, we are blessed by God, and He cares for us.
I used to be a pretty devoted Christian. Now I am on the fence. One thing that I simply cannot understand is that passage you put up John 3:16. If god so loved the world and everything in it, how can he send someone to be damned in hell. Out of the gay people and straight people i know, gay people are some of the nicest, kindest, most genuine people i know. So if someone leads an all loving, all genuine life, how can he or she be damned to hell for eternity?
I am trying not to be offended by the fact that you think homosexual sex is a sin. How can an expression of love between two consenting adults be sinful? You say that sex outside of marriage is a sin. Gay people are not allowed to get married, therefore gay sex is always a sin. I absolutely disagree with you on this.
Love is a far more important concept that sin.
I am disappointed by how often the church chooses to see sin in actions that are actually expressions of love.
If you want the details of how some gay children of fundamentalist Christians and Catholics were treated, you have just to research coming-out stories on blogs and elsewhere. I get that you want to talk directly to them; so you could send them a link to your videos, I guess. The damage is deep and common, you can trust me on this.
Observant Jews also think that homosexuality is an unacceptable sin. It's okay to have homosexual feelings but acting on it is not okay. I like your sincerity and the fact that you are open to your personal change. I find that your view of God as you express it in a couple of videos to be loving and open...and that you don't necessarily need a doctrine to validate the truth of what you clearly experience.
Hi. Thanks for your video. I have a question for you. If a Christian person who considers himself gay and shares his life with a partner in a monogamous relationship, would you consider this lifestyle wrong?
My best friend is a Christian, I came out to her. We have been best friends for 5 years now. We know each others differences, but we still love each other. Your video was nice to see, to any Christians out there, please talk with another homosexual. I did at my school which was a Christian school, the last thing that helped me was people sneering at me in the corridors.
Such an ignorant like all the religious. The brain has a part called hypothalamus. There's a part in the hypothalamus which is responsible for sexual orientation. It i formed when the embryo is the mother's uterus.Get off the bible and study some useful books.By the way I'm straight.

So... in Leviticus 20:13 God said," If a man lie with mankind, as with womankind, both of them have committed abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them."
So either: God loves everyone and the bible is wrong (with all of its hate) and the whole thing is questionable, or God only loves people who do exactly what he says (which is impossible given many biblical contradictions), or God loves gays but likes them to die (god is a creepy fuck) or there is no god.
I really ponder how you can sanely believe that god loves everyone and that you really know how god would treat people. In all honesty you should just cut out all the god crap you are talking and stick to the message, because you see, you seem to be a good person in heart, but that's not because of god, it's because you have empathy and compassion in yourself. Pretty much 100% of what you say about god is illogical and contradictory, so put it aside. Being homeosexual is fine, end of message.
In Tuscany, Italy I stayed in a villa owned by the Catholic church during my first visit to Italy. He showed me various places around Tuscany, we had great wine and traditional Tuscan meals. It was fantastic. My priest friend is also gay and we had some very meaningful talks.
The "act" of homosexuality? You make it sound like it's something that is "done". As if it's some crime against you and the world. I have never met you nor have I done ANYTHING to you. So why do you make judgements based on a book you read? The most logical thing would be to see if the book is correct about the people it's talking about. Please do that. Also, let me know the reason why men caring for other men is so wrong? I think it bothers you because the bible tells you to be bothered by it.
CONTINUED- But just because I hold the biblical view that homosexuality is a sin doesn't mean that I cant have a loving relationship with my gay daughter anymore then I can't have a relationship with my philandering brother or Atheist sister. The thought that you must reject a homosexual or any sinner for that matter is just as umbilical as the act of homosexuality. I pray your mother opens her eyes to the true teachings of Christianity & that one day you two can have a relationship again.

The so-called "Christians" who use their "faith" or the Bible to attack, harass, condemn, and vilify other human beings are actually doing the exact opposite of what the Lord teaches and would want. No one ever turned to God because they were screamed into it. Regardless of what anyone believes about homosexuality, Christianity, or any part of other people's lives, the only way anyone will listen to you with an open heart and mind is if you show them compassion and respect during the dialogue.
And acting as if u don't know how we're treated as gays! Look at the news. R u kidding me? We're treated horribly. Dont patronize me by asking like u don't know. I neither want nor require xtians approval. The best thing u can do is keep ur superstition to urself.
I'm sure ur mean well but that vid is so patronizing and condescending. U think the only possible reason I'd withdraw when I find out ur an xtian is because I've been hurt? U have no right to assume that. Maybe I withdraw because u think faith is a good thing and ur not rational. Maybe I think ur core dogma of a god that requires blood sacrifice to vicariously give forgiveness is completely immoral. Maybe u people just flat out exhaust me.
I've been treated badly in the past based on my sexuality. I've had it basically shoved down my throat that the choice I've made is a sin, even though I didn't make the choice to be gay, and I'm sure many people would tell you if they had the choice they wouldn't be. I have also gone to church since I was a child and still do, I"m a part of my churches worship team, I do anything I can within the church. What I find sad is some people can't get past sexuality and get to know me. But I forgive.
@thepursuitblog ...(cont) The texts want death and torture for eternity (hell) for those who don't choose the christian god. Homosexuality is referred to as an abomination, and it was written that the homosexual should be put to death and have their blood upon them. Don't like those parts of the bible? I don't either. I'll be a atheist, and I'll be a consistent one, while you meander around and make excuses for what is PLAIN AS DAY THAT THE BIBLE DOES HATE HOMOSEXUALS. Fly under your TRUE flag!
I probably shouldn't feed the troll...but I just want to make it clear that I'm not speaking on behalf of Christians...(I'm an ex-Christian)
But I'm a linguist and I had been studying Hebrew, and I think "abomination" is too harsh of a word to use. Many different words from Hebrew are translated to "abomination". The original texts justify the act with the word "eivah"...which means "gross, icky" It's the exact same word used by Moses and Isaiah to describe the consumption of pig and shellfish.
@Shipuh "Don't do that its 'icky' and if you do you'll be put to death. Don't you think the punishment says something about gods feelings on the matter. Using commonsense and putting the whole OT context in, god did not mention lesbian sex as he did not address females at all during the sex laws ie Do not have sex with your neice but nothing of 'do not have sex with your nephew'. It's obviously not mentioned because women have no say in who they have sex with.
@Shipuh I am all for acceptance of gays but what I can't stand is people minimizing what is in the bible and instead pointing their finger at fundamentalists. Because some christians 'liberal' 'moderate' promote the bible whilst ignoring large chunks or downright jumping through hoops to downplay passages then claim fundamentalists 'distort' gods word. An honest analysis of the bible and the actions of fundamentalists is that fundies are trying to apply the whole of a contradictory book.......
My point is...I hardly know a Christian (generalization for the majority of Christians I know personally) who won't mind eating a Pepperoni pizza, but when they come come to the topic of homosexuality they treat it like it like it's a major evil.
And when you look at the texts, both of these acts are justified with the same word in the Hebrew language. Why is one treated like it is sooooo much worse?
@Shipuh I really don't know how you can be unsure what I am saying, Basically there is very good reason why someone who takes the bible literally would think god abhorrs homosexuality. Fundamentalists aren't as picky choosy as you make them sound and your arguments reflect ignorance or rhetoric of badly thought through liberal christian apologetics. Paul is very clear in the bible that the sexually immoral will not enter the kingdom of heaven for this reason ALL the sex laws in the old testament
@Shipuh are abhorred by fundamentalist christians. They didn't just 'pick out the gays' and to give them a little credit if there has been any picking or choosing going on it has been to include requirements that men abstain from sex til married, The old testament was very clear that only women were to remain pure. So if anything fundamentalists have restricted and condemned themselves right along with the gays.
@Shipuh correction 'any BREACH' of the sex laws are abhorred by fundamentalists.
Jesus was very clear in the NT that most the laws for example food laws not working on the sabbath etc were now irrelevant while the NT still strongly opposes sexual immorality.
I don't know why you are trying to correct me when we have similar agendas as freethinkers.
I was raised as fundamentalist Christian so I don't really need educating on what they believe. -- I'm looking at this from a -purely- linguistic perspective, and NT and OT are incompatible linguistically.
Deuteronomy 13:1-5 cancels out both Jesus' and Paul's credibility against the mitzvot.
And just for the record, neither Paul nor Jesus ruled out the shatnez law. Something for Christians to consider.
@Shipuh I am opposing bad arguments and the reason being that they appear to point the finger at fundamentalists as the instigator of gay hate when the problem is the bible. EVERYTHING in the OT cancels out Jesus's credibility as the one god. But I was arguing from a fundamentalist point of view. So if one were a lieralist they would believe Paul when he says we no longer live by the law (I assume that means shatnez as that was part of the law) yet upholds sexual immorality as sin.
This may be where we differ on viewpoints. I do not see the bible as the problem. For me, radical fundamentalism across all religions is the problem. There is nothing wrong with progressive theism, and those who do not make efforts to proselytize. It's why I have great respect for Jews, Sikhs, and Wiccans. I however do have problems with active-atheism, (just as bad as Christians.) One's views should not harass the lives of other people. (The whole point the GLBT community is trying to make.)
@Shipuh sorry I sent the last message before I viewed your most recent. Do you think the 'essence' of the bible is good?. what do you think causes fundamentalism if not the texts?
Whether the bible is good or not is irrelevant. I do not live my life by the bible. -- I do find it an interesting source of study however, it as a work created by men. -- I understand the fundamentalist perspective because I grew up in that environment, but my relationship with progressive theists who are inclusive to all humanity do not provoke me to anger to condemn the bible. -- You judge me however to be theist, and that kinda makes me upset.
@Shipuh I was clear you weren't a theist that wasn't my gripe. I have progressive theist friends too and they don't make me angry. They defend their ideas but not the bible. My close christian friend thinks Paul is a chauvinist now that's using your brain.
@Shipuh when you were a fundamentalist did you believe that way because you believed your pastor or because you believed the bible? sorry meant to add this to my previous questions.
Actually, as I Christian, I never believed that way. I thought it was wrong to hold any of those kinds of views towards other humans. (I was bullied alot in school, so that's probably why I empathized). -- My father's position on this topic was very firm however, but I never agreed. I never even saw a problem with it, and when they said "because God says..." I just ignored it. I wasn't a very good Christian, lol.
@Shipuh I was also a christian who accepted gays but I was afraid for them because I didn't believe god would accept them. I couldn't see a reason it was bad but oh well lean not on my own understanding. In the end I wasn't such a great christian either, I became unevenly yoked with an atheist outside of marriage as well, tsk tsk Eventually seeing that what god classed as immoral didn't hurt anyone and brought people happiness and denying people things that enrich their life really seemed like
@Shipuh the immoral thing in comparison. This led me to question the moral superiority of the bible. Needless to say once I gave myself permission to judge the bible it didn't take long to dismiss the whole thing. You may not agree that the bible is the problem but fundamentalism IS strict adherence to the text. And the text encourages blind obedience and to ignore their own wisdom (reason)
@Shipuh The two arguments you used ie 'it's ok to eat shellfish but not to be gay' and 'god never condemns lesbian sex' are favorites for people who wish to defend their god and bible and say condemning gays is really a fundamentalists 'personal problem' that is why I pointed out the flaws. It's not going to solve anything to absolve the character of god in the bible. And these arguments are designed to do just that.
What I find abhorrent is that the English texts don't signify is the diversity in the words and defaults to "abomination" for all of them. (Just like all the mistranslations of the word "hell" -- You have sheol, hades, gehenna...etc.)
The kicker is, you don't see Christians going around with the same amount of passion to stop people from eating pork or shrimp like they do in their harassment to the GLBT community.
Oh, and Christians, Lesbian sex is actually never discussed in the Bible!!!
@Shipuh English is so simple and comparing to my language for example it barely has any grammar or rules, they tend to simplify everything, and I'm talking about American English,British English I found to be quite hard, but yes they do generalize terms and words, they barely have any synonyms, and even with all that I've known ppl from my country and others that go to the states and get high results at English while the natives fail, inexplicable
@thepursuitblog I constantly heard you refer in the video to people who "pick on" gays. It's not "people", it's your scripture. It's there in plain ink, and you'd have to be blind not to see it. I don't ever rely on what the religious interpreter says, I go straight for the holiest texts themselves. They are hateful towards homosexuals, they want the separation between the sheep and goats, they want as jesus wanted, death and torture not only in life, but after you're dead for eternity. Clear?
"This video is not about sin or the right or wrongness of homosexuality, but a honest reflection of how Christ sees all people, especially homosexuals" You are aware, I dare say, that there is no serious evidence that christ ever walked the planet, right? So what do you care what an imaginary person thinks?
You seem like a really nice, sincere and honest guy so I'm not going to yell at you, but I do want to say the following: I'm a bisexual Deist. I grew up Christian and departed from the faith after experiencing my own revelations. I studied the bible more thoroughly during this time, and I could not find the sex outside of -MARRIAGE- viewpoint anywhere. What I did find was that having sex was equal to the act of marriage, and essentially people who are raped have to stay with their abuser.
Non-Christians are the only ones who have ever shown me non-judgement and respect. I was raised in a Southern Baptist Family. I still haven't come out to my family, I'm 37, because they are Christian. All I've ever heard were hate-filled words about people who are like me or of a different race or religion. I just sit there in stunned silence knowing that my family would hate me If they knew the real me. I've seen the way they treat gay family members to their face and behind their backs
I figured I had put it out of my mind but it does still hurt so thank you for this *big hug*. My experience with Christians: Living in the bible belt, high school was rough. People would insult me, throw things at me, and the teachers would do nothing about it. One time a girl walked up to me, slapped me with a handful of lotion and told me my boyfriend missed. Even though I'm out of school I'm still afraid of ppl because all over the country they still rise to announce they hate ppl like me.
I'm sorry but with the attitude that homosexuality is a sin, then I'm not going to listen to you saying its 'okay' because 'everyone sins'. Sins are actions that damage relationships. Sexuality does not qualify.
@N495illithian A religious definition of 'sin' is different from a secular one. The fact is that humans knowingly commit many acts that would, by an reasonable standards, be considered immoral. The fact that I am on the internet right now responding to a YouTube comment illustrates this: I could be legitimately helping people by doing charity work, I could at least use 'green energy', I regularly eat meat, I drive to many places when I could take public transport, and yet this is not uncommon.
@garrywarne1 There is always going to be something more beneficial to the world as a whole versus what you are currently doing. That does not mean what you're doing is a sin. However, it is also worth mentioning there are vastly more beneficial things you could be doing then trying to convince people being homosexual is a sin by definition of your >4000 year old folk tale. (also, it is >4000 years old; everything you can quote about homosexuality is in the old testament)
@N495illithian For the record I'm NOT a Christian, in fact if asked I would identify myself as an Atheist. But referring main point, why should it not? The fact that I am knowingly doing something which could be improved upon is a sign of my immorality, and of everyone else's too. And yes, I agree that what I am doing now could be considered "sinful" but I (like everyone else) am selfish douchebag, and I simply don't care.
I understand and appreciate to an extent the hate the sin not the sinner mentality. The issue I have is this, I didn't chose to be gay. I had a choice but that was to be who I am, to be the best man that I can be. Or I can lie, lie to myself, lie to everyone around me. So I chose the honorable path. I live a life full of love, kindness and hope. I've been with my husband for 6 years. I don't think our relationship has any less value or love than a straight couple's, and yet it is still reviled.
@artisticskin It's not about what we "feel" or "believe" It's about who God is and what God says. If we let Him be our authority He is our guide. I encourage all to strive to know who God truly is through God's Word.
@KristieSue There are as many interpretations of God's word as there are people on this earth. My relationship with the almighty is strong, my faith is strong. Your narrow-minded view of his love is between you and him.
These religious people who claims to be of god are just misguided and falsely putting people on the wrong path. People from westboro baptist church are not christians they are monsters who robbed peoples happiness. They reject their own children and come to peoples funerals to protest. Its Amazing that i haven't heard from them in a long time and i am so glad they are slowly being silent. I love life i love everybody on this planet but make me angry and i shall not love you as much like others.
It is full time people especially gays and their allies, STOP accepting hateful bigots as Christians. When those people come to you with hate and prejudices - LAUGH THEM TO SCORN - Because they are NOT Christian, they are Confusion! To be a Christian is to be Christ-like and if you read the 4 Gospels - Matthew Mark Luke John - You will see that Jesus is about love and being kind to others. Jesus accepts that NOT all men were born to be with women. It is man who CAN'T accept others differences.
Where I'm from, christians are treated like homoseksuals in America. Don't shoot me, I'm not christian, I'm an atheist, pretty much like everybody else in Belgium, and I don't mind christians. But we would prefer a gay man above a christian man everyday. My country and it's people have lost complete faith, not only in God, but especially in the few people here that still believe in him. So, all the hated gays in america; come here. All christians here, go to america.
Hello David, my negative experiences I've had with religion comes from my family. While I have many christian friends who keep an open mind, my relatives don't. And when we meet I often get to hear their views of right and wrong. Of course they're not meaning to be hateful, but it hurts me to hear that they truly believe that loving another can be wrong. I am not homosexual, but I am an atheist, still I respect any christian. But I do not respect prejudice and hatred. Late answer, I'm aware. ;)
(Cont. from below) It was an amazing church that I was proud to belong to. I recently moved and I have been unable to find a church that compares. I believe that your view on homosexuality should be every Christians view, because if you truly love God, Then you will love all of his children. Hatred is not what God wants. Love is what God was all about. I am truly touched by your call to me. I believe that it is people like yourself that should be the next generation of church leaders.
As a homosexual male, I felt this video was a great response to the idea that Christians hate homosexuals. I grew up going to church and I have read the bible a total of 12 times throughout my life. In all churches except a select few, I found were shunning of homosexuality. The last church I was a part of was an amazing church who believed that you should "Come as you are". Does not matter who or what you are, just as love as you believed in God and believe that Jesus died for your sins.
I thank you for your ability to be open and honest and to see us as equal. I wish Christ would remove the blinders most christians have towards gays. Now that I am out , I see so called Christians as Pharaisees and Sadducees in Jesus' time. They make exceptions for their own sins at the same time pointing out and condeming others. They can't save the instituition of marriage for themselves but worry what to gay people in love will do to it. Such Hypocrisy!!!!!!!
I grew in a very religious family and society. I have felt surpressed by Christians my entirer life. I thought less of my self and unworthy to be a christian. I prayed for change but with time I found my own truth that I am the person God met me to be and he loves me unquestionable. Instead of chains of sin being cast aside I had chains of religious indoctorination being cast aside. I once was blind but know I see God is Love and he sees the real me.
Wow, if only more people could be like you. I'm only 15 and haven't come out yet, so I haven't been treated badly for being gay, but it hurts to hear my friends or family talk badly about gays because of the beliefs they've been taught. I'm still a Christian though, and while struggling with accepting myself, I think I became closer to God since I turned to Him for help. Though I hope in the future more people will, if not accept, at least not judge us for who we love. Thanks for the video =)
I am gay. I grew up in the church and am currently not religious though I do believe in god. I just wanted to say thank you for being so great! When you announced that you are a christian I shook a bit just out of fear because of the christian people I know say hateful things to homosexuals. So thank you for having a great mind and we need more people like you in the world. :)
Thanks for making this video. You seem like a very kind and thoughtful person. I no longer consider myself Christian but I appreciate your inclusiveness and will watch your videos in the future. Also, please don't take the harsh words of some of the other gay people here personally please. Have a nice day.
Hi David, I was originally led to your blogsite by watching Jay & Bryan's video that showed a clip both you and another horrifying individual who labeled himself a Christian. I must say it was enough to make me want to hear more of what you had to say. I commend you for your enlightened and compassionate way of thinking. This world needs more good people like yourself. I have no doubt why you have over 1200 subscribers to date. That is truly powerful. It's like having your own congregation!
Let me ask you a question... Would you rather have a celibate homosexual man who lives his life alone, or two married, commited, loving homosexuals? Like the passage you spoke of, God so loved the "world". Not just the straights, or the Christians, or the Jews, ect. Also, God commanded that is better for a man to marry than to live alone.
And if certain things in the bible are okay to change with the times (ie: slavery, stoning), why is it not okay to do so with homosexuality?
.....wow, I'm shocked. When you said you were Christian I cringed a little but you are very.... understanding. You are a rarity, a christian who even if he himself doesn't agree with something still doesn't pass judgment. I am a bisexual who has been told I am going to hell and I am technically Catholic. I am still in between Catholicism and Atheism .... so Agnostic I guess, but I respect your position and what you have to say.
i dont know why some christian care about gays souls going to hell when most of them do care about children in africa starving or helping the katrina victims or even the earthquake that happened in haiti.. people need to wake up and smell the coffee... worry about real problems.. people only have one life to live why not help someone who need help to live their life to the fullest instead making lives miserable. because that would make you the problem...!
we can not say homosexuality is a sin because we dont understand it.. people need to have a little more education than that. being gay is just like being straight you choose what you like not by who people say we should be with. i think that hard core christians who are prejudice of gays should chill out because who i am dating or having relationships with is none of their business if it does not involve them. i do not ask who or how a person have sex with because it doesnt matter.
I find your video very refreshing, but I'm afraid my response would be more than 500 characters long. Suffice it to say, I've had every response imaginable (good and bad) from both christian and non-christians. I don't think, however my experiences would compare to gay people living in the US.
When I meet a christian I am very afraid ... that I won't be able to keep from laughing in his/her face. That's the only fear I feel when I meet someone who believes in space gods and talking snakes and divine zombies floating on clouds.
May the Tooth Fairy sprinkle fairy dust on your pillow.
allowed to be together. i personally, like gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered, or confused people, remember i am straight, as people not as i prefer them as my significant other. they are fine citizens and should be treated differently. i know this comment is very long but, i guess i dont really know what to say anymore. i hope my cousin reads this.
i am not gay myself, i am straight, but i have a cousin that believes that homosexuals are sins to god, and i was broken hearted to hear him say that. now he and i myself are christians. but i am a supporter of gay rights, i have a couple of gay friends who are very kind and good hearted but get treated like dirt for their orientation. MY cousin says gays are a sin to god and i dont agree with him. there is nothing wrong with homosexuality. if they truly love eachother, than they should be...
Well, I don't believe in God and don't agree with this guy, but he's not a dick, and if that's not refreshing to see amongst religious people then I don't know what is.
@thepursuitblog First of all, thank you for your kind words. As a matter of pure curiosity, since you believe that it is wrong to ever have sex outside of marriage, do you believe that homosexual persons should never have sex with their partners since they are (in most places) not permitted to marry? Or is a devoted, life-long, monogamous commitment enough when official marriage is not possible? Thanks once again.
the homosexuality was before cristianity, the egiptians, greeks, romans and many cultures adopted thousand years ago, i think is in the same nature of humankind throw the history.
straight ppl can't stop and think for just one second, that if someone would one day come and force them to like someone of their own gender they couldn't do it,they just couldn't,why? cause they were born that way! to like the opposite gender just as gays like their own, that proves everything, just imagine you a straight person being forced to like, kiss, screw, marry someone of your own gender, and that's how the gays feels...but no one stops and thinks, they all blame and condemn
It's not Christians who demonize homosexuals. It their disgusting book that does that for them, they just follow it's lead. The Bible reinforces their hatred and authorizes killing homosexuals. That's 'revealed' truth you can never be changed.
@disrxt I disagree. I think if you read the bible you would see that it actually teaches really good morals in most cases. The bizarre thing is that most Christians don't seem to have read it.
I mean "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone" for christ sake!
If my memory serves me right I think there is only one sentence in the bible that hints toward homosexuality.
By the way I'm an atheist. Just saying the Bible's a solid fictional book, with some good life lessons in there.
@hempheadfor20 I think there's two referances to homsexuality, one in the Hebrew Bible and one in the New Testament. What's ironic is that the sin most often condemned in both scriptures is self righteous, most Christians compltely miss this fact. The Bible contradicts itself on almost every point allowing the credulous to cherry pick scripture to support personal prejudice. All religious texts contain good ideas to live by, but they all contain more error than good in toto. Why I'm an atheist
@disrxt I mostly agree with you but in your original comment you say that its not Christians, but their bible.
If by this "but they all contain more error than good in toto" you mean that much of the bible isn't true well...duh, but just because its not a work of non fiction doesn't mean you can't take good from it. What I'm saying is that the bible doesn't "demonize homosexuals" as you put it. The Christians demonize homosexuals, whether its based on their interpretation of the bible or not.
First thing I have to say is that most homosexuals can't get married easily, so your point is invalid about sex while married. I'm a Christian & feel that homosexuality is a sin which usually carries a physical punishment that comes in this life mainly. I also have two main friends & one is gay. I told him while we were teenagers that if he told me he was gay it wouldn't change our relationship, but he was never open about it & so it took a while for my suspicion to be validated.
No one can say that they are a true Christian because being a true Christian is walking within christ, and no human can do that. I'm gay and I believe in god, it's amazing.. I know. God does love all his creations and this guy (who ever he is) has balls to say this to the world. THANKS GUY
You remind me of this one Nazi who thinks Jews shouldn't be gassed and that there should be a place for them in the Party, though it's not OK to be a Jew of course.
If gays in America suffer it is because of Christians and their barbaric, cruel superstition. You were not born that way. You can shed this primitive delusion that makes you hate all that is different.
The problem is not us, it's you. You may think as you like about me and my life, but you will leave me alone and in peace.
I shared about it in class the next day because not many people from my home room were in the same group. My teacher asked to see me after class. She's a Mormon and she asked if it was ok that I was in that group. I wanted to cry, but I said it was fine. I liked the group.
CrazyRockr 6 days ago

TruAgape123 2 weeks ago
Good video! Your moral values greatly transcend beyond what Christianity represents on this subject, and I salute you! Keep seeking the truth!

CHRISTIANS ARE NOT HOMOPHOBIC!!!

Thanks!
AlexiHelligar 1 month ago
The term "homosexual" is a clinical term that is used to denigrate gay people. Although, in the context of your speech that obviously wasn't your intention. Still, I'm not sure why you aren't saying "gay" or "gay and lesbian".
Christians need to keep in mind that they CHOSE to be religious. You aren't born religious. (Most likely you were indoctrinated into religion when you were a child.) As such, claiming that homosexuality is a sin, is an opinion not fact. Something to keep in mind.

Leviticus 18:22
The Message (MSG) 22 "Don't have sex with a man as one does with a woman. That is abhorrent.
There's the fact.
nazineful 1 month ago

And that's all that really matters.

i've had bad and good experiences. i was purposely excluded from being a member of my local church, which made me feel bad. i then went to a Unitarian church, and was accepted, so i do not believe that all christians feel this way. the bible is open to interpretation, and jesus' commandment was to love one another as he loves all of us. the main point i have to make, is what matters is Deed not Creed. the story of the good samaritan is most famous biblical example.

You are young, so you will have time to see how the moral arc of social justice ever increasingly favors gay rights over repressive Christianity.
themrrich 2 months ago in playlist On Homosexuality

So if someone leads an all loving, all genuine life, how can he or she be damned to hell for eternity?
shredGNARonguitar12 9 months ago

The damage is deep and common, you can trust me on this.
jmundstuk 10 months ago
Observant Jews also think that homosexuality is an unacceptable sin. It's okay to have homosexual feelings but acting on it is not okay. I like your sincerity and the fact that you are open to your personal change. I find that your view of God as you express it in a couple of videos to be loving and open...and that you don't necessarily need a doctrine to validate the truth of what you clearly experience.

Hi. Thanks for your video. I have a question for you. If a Christian person who considers himself gay and shares his life with a partner in a monogamous relationship, would you consider this lifestyle wrong?
caltrask51 10 months ago
My best friend is a Christian, I came out to her. We have been best friends for 5 years now. We know each others differences, but we still love each other. Your video was nice to see, to any Christians out there, please talk with another homosexual. I did at my school which was a Christian school, the last thing that helped me was people sneering at me in the corridors.

So... in Leviticus 20:13 God said," If a man lie with mankind, as with womankind, both of them have committed abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them."

Regardless of what anyone believes about homosexuality, Christianity, or any part of other people's lives, the only way anyone will listen to you with an open heart and mind is if you show them compassion and respect during the dialogue.

krunk1980 11 months ago
I'm sure ur mean well but that vid is so patronizing and condescending. U think the only possible reason I'd withdraw when I find out ur an xtian is because I've been hurt? U have no right to assume that. Maybe I withdraw because u think faith is a good thing and ur not rational. Maybe I think ur core dogma of a god that requires blood sacrifice to vicariously give forgiveness is completely immoral. Maybe u people just flat out exhaust me.
krunk1980 11 months ago
I've been treated badly in the past based on my sexuality. I've had it basically shoved down my throat that the choice I've made is a sin, even though I didn't make the choice to be gay, and I'm sure many people would tell you if they had the choice they wouldn't be. I have also gone to church since I was a child and still do, I"m a part of my churches worship team, I do anything I can within the church. What I find sad is some people can't get past sexuality and get to know me. But I forgive.

wamyc 11 months ago 2
@thepursuitblog ...(cont) The texts want death and torture for eternity (hell) for those who don't choose the christian god. Homosexuality is referred to as an abomination, and it was written that the homosexual should be put to death and have their blood upon them. Don't like those parts of the bible? I don't either. I'll be a atheist, and I'll be a consistent one, while you meander around and make excuses for what is PLAIN AS DAY THAT THE BIBLE DOES HATE HOMOSEXUALS. Fly under your TRUE flag!
XforeverlongingX 11 months ago
I probably shouldn't feed the troll...but I just want to make it clear that I'm not speaking on behalf of Christians...(I'm an ex-Christian)
But I'm a linguist and I had been studying Hebrew, and I think "abomination" is too harsh of a word to use. Many different words from Hebrew are translated to "abomination". The original texts justify the act with the word "eivah"...which means "gross, icky" It's the exact same word used by Moses and Isaiah to describe the consumption of pig and shellfish.
Shipuh 11 months ago
@Shipuh "Don't do that its 'icky' and if you do you'll be put to death. Don't you think the punishment says something about gods feelings on the matter. Using commonsense and putting the whole OT context in, god did not mention lesbian sex as he did not address females at all during the sex laws ie Do not have sex with your neice but nothing of 'do not have sex with your nephew'. It's obviously not mentioned because women have no say in who they have sex with.
classicchinadoll 11 months ago
@Shipuh I am all for acceptance of gays but what I can't stand is people minimizing what is in the bible and instead pointing their finger at fundamentalists. Because some christians 'liberal' 'moderate' promote the bible whilst ignoring large chunks or downright jumping through hoops to downplay passages then claim fundamentalists 'distort' gods word. An honest analysis of the bible and the actions of fundamentalists is that fundies are trying to apply the whole of a contradictory book.......
classicchinadoll 11 months ago
@Shipuh while others apply modern secular values and are dishonest enough to claim 'this is what the bible is really about.'
classicchinadoll 11 months ago
I'm not quite sure what you are saying.
Shipuh 11 months ago
@Shipuh I really don't know how you can be unsure what I am saying, Basically there is very good reason why someone who takes the bible literally would think god abhorrs homosexuality. Fundamentalists aren't as picky choosy as you make them sound and your arguments reflect ignorance or rhetoric of badly thought through liberal christian apologetics. Paul is very clear in the bible that the sexually immoral will not enter the kingdom of heaven for this reason ALL the sex laws in the old testament
classicchinadoll 11 months ago
@Shipuh are abhorred by fundamentalist christians. They didn't just 'pick out the gays' and to give them a little credit if there has been any picking or choosing going on it has been to include requirements that men abstain from sex til married, The old testament was very clear that only women were to remain pure. So if anything fundamentalists have restricted and condemned themselves right along with the gays.
classicchinadoll 11 months ago
@Shipuh correction 'any BREACH' of the sex laws are abhorred by fundamentalists.
Jesus was very clear in the NT that most the laws for example food laws not working on the sabbath etc were now irrelevant while the NT still strongly opposes sexual immorality.
classicchinadoll 11 months ago
I don't know why you are trying to correct me when we have similar agendas as freethinkers.
I was raised as fundamentalist Christian so I don't really need educating on what they believe. -- I'm looking at this from a -purely- linguistic perspective, and NT and OT are incompatible linguistically.
Deuteronomy 13:1-5 cancels out both Jesus' and Paul's credibility against the mitzvot.
And just for the record, neither Paul nor Jesus ruled out the shatnez law. Something for Christians to consider.
Shipuh 11 months ago
@Shipuh I am opposing bad arguments and the reason being that they appear to point the finger at fundamentalists as the instigator of gay hate when the problem is the bible. EVERYTHING in the OT cancels out Jesus's credibility as the one god. But I was arguing from a fundamentalist point of view. So if one were a lieralist they would believe Paul when he says we no longer live by the law (I assume that means shatnez as that was part of the law) yet upholds sexual immorality as sin.
classicchinadoll 11 months ago
This may be where we differ on viewpoints. I do not see the bible as the problem. For me, radical fundamentalism across all religions is the problem. There is nothing wrong with progressive theism, and those who do not make efforts to proselytize. It's why I have great respect for Jews, Sikhs, and Wiccans. I however do have problems with active-atheism, (just as bad as Christians.) One's views should not harass the lives of other people. (The whole point the GLBT community is trying to make.)
Shipuh 11 months ago
@Shipuh sorry I sent the last message before I viewed your most recent. Do you think the 'essence' of the bible is good?. what do you think causes fundamentalism if not the texts?
classicchinadoll 11 months ago
Whether the bible is good or not is irrelevant. I do not live my life by the bible. -- I do find it an interesting source of study however, it as a work created by men. -- I understand the fundamentalist perspective because I grew up in that environment, but my relationship with progressive theists who are inclusive to all humanity do not provoke me to anger to condemn the bible. -- You judge me however to be theist, and that kinda makes me upset.
Shipuh 11 months ago
@Shipuh I was clear you weren't a theist that wasn't my gripe. I have progressive theist friends too and they don't make me angry. They defend their ideas but not the bible. My close christian friend thinks Paul is a chauvinist now that's using your brain.
classicchinadoll 11 months ago
@Shipuh when you were a fundamentalist did you believe that way because you believed your pastor or because you believed the bible? sorry meant to add this to my previous questions.
classicchinadoll 11 months ago
Actually, as I Christian, I never believed that way. I thought it was wrong to hold any of those kinds of views towards other humans. (I was bullied alot in school, so that's probably why I empathized). -- My father's position on this topic was very firm however, but I never agreed. I never even saw a problem with it, and when they said "because God says..." I just ignored it. I wasn't a very good Christian, lol.
Shipuh 11 months ago
@Shipuh I was also a christian who accepted gays but I was afraid for them because I didn't believe god would accept them. I couldn't see a reason it was bad but oh well lean not on my own understanding. In the end I wasn't such a great christian either, I became unevenly yoked with an atheist outside of marriage as well, tsk tsk Eventually seeing that what god classed as immoral didn't hurt anyone and brought people happiness and denying people things that enrich their life really seemed like
classicchinadoll 11 months ago
@Shipuh the immoral thing in comparison. This led me to question the moral superiority of the bible. Needless to say once I gave myself permission to judge the bible it didn't take long to dismiss the whole thing. You may not agree that the bible is the problem but fundamentalism IS strict adherence to the text. And the text encourages blind obedience and to ignore their own wisdom (reason)
classicchinadoll 11 months ago
@Shipuh 'The beginning of wisdom is fear of god" Sorry had to add that it's so laughable lol
classicchinadoll 11 months ago
@Shipuh The two arguments you used ie 'it's ok to eat shellfish but not to be gay' and 'god never condemns lesbian sex' are favorites for people who wish to defend their god and bible and say condemning gays is really a fundamentalists 'personal problem' that is why I pointed out the flaws. It's not going to solve anything to absolve the character of god in the bible. And these arguments are designed to do just that.
classicchinadoll 11 months ago
What I find abhorrent is that the English texts don't signify is the diversity in the words and defaults to "abomination" for all of them. (Just like all the mistranslations of the word "hell" -- You have sheol, hades, gehenna...etc.)
The kicker is, you don't see Christians going around with the same amount of passion to stop people from eating pork or shrimp like they do in their harassment to the GLBT community.
Oh, and Christians, Lesbian sex is actually never discussed in the Bible!!!
Shipuh 11 months ago
@Shipuh English is so simple and comparing to my language for example it barely has any grammar or rules, they tend to simplify everything, and I'm talking about American English,British English I found to be quite hard, but yes they do generalize terms and words, they barely have any synonyms, and even with all that I've known ppl from my country and others that go to the states and get high results at English while the natives fail, inexplicable
FrozenDreamfall 11 months ago
@thepursuitblog I constantly heard you refer in the video to people who "pick on" gays. It's not "people", it's your scripture. It's there in plain ink, and you'd have to be blind not to see it. I don't ever rely on what the religious interpreter says, I go straight for the holiest texts themselves. They are hateful towards homosexuals, they want the separation between the sheep and goats, they want as jesus wanted, death and torture not only in life, but after you're dead for eternity. Clear?
XforeverlongingX 11 months ago
"This video is not about sin or the right or wrongness of homosexuality, but a honest reflection of how Christ sees all people, especially homosexuals" You are aware, I dare say, that there is no serious evidence that christ ever walked the planet, right? So what do you care what an imaginary person thinks?
XforeverlongingX 11 months ago

N495illithian 11 months ago 22
@N495illithian A religious definition of 'sin' is different from a secular one. The fact is that humans knowingly commit many acts that would, by an reasonable standards, be considered immoral. The fact that I am on the internet right now responding to a YouTube comment illustrates this: I could be legitimately helping people by doing charity work, I could at least use 'green energy', I regularly eat meat, I drive to many places when I could take public transport, and yet this is not uncommon.
garrywarne1 10 months ago
@garrywarne1 There is always going to be something more beneficial to the world as a whole versus what you are currently doing. That does not mean what you're doing is a sin. However, it is also worth mentioning there are vastly more beneficial things you could be doing then trying to convince people being homosexual is a sin by definition of your >4000 year old folk tale. (also, it is >4000 years old; everything you can quote about homosexuality is in the old testament)
N495illithian 10 months ago

I believe that your view on homosexuality should be every Christians view, because if you truly love God, Then you will love all of his children. Hatred is not what God wants.

And if certain things in the bible are okay to change with the times (ie: slavery, stoning), why is it not okay to do so with homosexuality?

i dont know why some christian care about gays souls going to hell when most of them do care about children in africa starving or helping the katrina victims or even the earthquake that happened in haiti.. people need to wake up and smell the coffee... worry about real problems.. people only have one life to live why not help someone who need help to live their life to the fullest instead making lives miserable. because that would make you the problem...!

we can not say homosexuality is a sin because we dont understand it.. people need to have a little more education than that. being gay is just like being straight you choose what you like not by who people say we should be with. i think that hard core christians who are prejudice of gays should chill out because who i am dating or having relationships with is none of their business if it does not involve them. i do not ask who or how a person have sex with because it doesnt matter.

i am not gay myself, i am straight, but i have a cousin that believes that homosexuals are sins to god, and i was broken hearted to hear him say that. now he and i myself are christians. but i am a supporter of gay rights, i have a couple of gay friends who are very kind and good hearted but get treated like dirt for their orientation.

That's 'revealed' truth you can never be changed.
disrxt 1 year ago
@disrxt I disagree. I think if you read the bible you would see that it actually teaches really good morals in most cases. The bizarre thing is that most Christians don't seem to have read it.
I mean "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone" for christ sake!
If my memory serves me right I think there is only one sentence in the bible that hints toward homosexuality.
By the way I'm an atheist. Just saying the Bible's a solid fictional book, with some good life lessons in there.
hempheadfor20 1 year ago
@hempheadfor20 I think there's two referances to homsexuality, one in the Hebrew Bible and one in the New Testament. What's ironic is that the sin most often condemned in both scriptures is self righteous, most Christians compltely miss this fact. The Bible contradicts itself on almost every point allowing the credulous to cherry pick scripture to support personal prejudice. All religious texts contain good ideas to live by, but they all contain more error than good in toto. Why I'm an atheist
disrxt 1 year ago
