I used to main MK, until I started using characters that actually take some amount of skill to be good with (lucario, PT, link, 3d, snake, wolf) No offense, just sayin it like it is.

Skill doesn't bring you anything if you don't get the right time to use the skill. You can know many sacred combos, but as long as you are not getting the chance to use it, you're screwed. And to get the chance of using combos or such, you NEED alot of luck.
I know so many combos with Captain Falcon, much more then my clanmate do know with browser(it's his main), but yet he beats me, because I can't get the chance to use it.
It's like poker, position is everything, same is luck.

Well what you may have missed is the stage. Olimar could have hidden under a platform while Metaknight goes in for the glide, and if he fails he has to hit the ground and theres a little lag. In which time, Olimar will punish him and probably KO. Purple Pikman can KO at 70% reliably.
Gimpy needs to train with metaknight. Im awesome with him. He never used the up-b attack to hit him. The up-b move has a rly good hit and when yu fly after it, you can use A button to attack and if you hit them well, it can be a critical strike. I need to face Gimpyfish on Brawl. Ill used metaknight, hopefully hell use bowser.
No, he isn't cheap. He's actually very balanced. His specials basically all leave him vulnerable after use. He doesn't hit very hard either. And he's light.
All his special have absurd priority, meaning they will most likely hit you, or make shield or evade them, giving MK enough time to be prepared.
His upB will kill at 70, his dsmash will kill you at 90 and his fsmash will kill you above 100.
Being light doesn't matter if he has like 5 jumps and can glide. He is terribly hard to kill. He is the character with the best recovering abilities in the game, and he is far from being the lightest.
My brother is very good with Metaknight, and we're about evenly matched. He's VERY easy to kill. People who lose to Metaknight will be like, "cheap!" You're a sore loser. Sakurai put forth a lot of effort to make this game very balanced. He did a great job.
There are so many moves in the game that have very high priority, and there are plenty of ways to counteract them. Metaknight can't do a thing with those moves if strong enough projectiles are being thrown at him. If you're up close, then of course those moves are going to have good priority, but they weren't made to be dealt with by using up-close tactics.
As for those death calculations you just made. Wrong, wrong, and wrong. I tested all three damages, and all three moves, on a JIGGLYPUFF, one of the two lightest character in the game. To kill a character at those percentages with the moves you just named, I think it would have to be in a very situational circumstance.
How doesn't being light matter? Knocking someone side-ways isn't the only method of death. Even with that said, he's extremely possible to kill, being knocked sideways.

I like how you put grabs into your second match DSF :P. Made it harder for Gimpy to predict. I understand you not using too many tilts because of Gimpy trying to keep you at range, but I still don't like the switch you made to MK in the third round.
I was just wondering, what controller setup do you use? I find that the wii+nunchuck only works for slow characters, but the GC one is good for fast attacks with the C-stick especially with Marth. Which one do you think is better?

gimpy fish, you are my idol, you are actually the first person I have seen in the finals of a tournament using metaknight. Most players try to recover mk with a strike, miss, and fall to their death. You actually know what you are doing, you are a good mk player. You shoulda used 1 or 2 side specials (drill rush) tho. The only thing I think is bad about mk is that he doesn't have that many finishing moves (down smash is a good one tho) and you have to be really good to use his final smash.

I have played Melee for almost 6 years straight. And in my travels, no one has been able to beat me consistently. I have played "MLG pros" at Melee and gave them the ride of their lives. Don't say I don't know what I'm talking about when I say I want to test someone.

lucario-slow smashes, takes mindgames to play properly, decent airgame
pokemon trainer-the 3 characters in one is good if you can fight with them all
link-skill required, but he has smashes that come out pretty fast and he has pretty good projectiles and a fair airgame
3xD-if you CAN chaingrab, then why not, but if you cant then youre a fish on dry land because opponents will dodge all your hits

Gimpyfish does use Shuttle Loop in his matches, check his other videos. Up-B has some kick to it, but is highly situational.

Hold the jump button after doing a double jump; it's much easier to use X or Y than using up on the control stick.
Only Metaknight, Pit, and Charizard can glide.

Which B Moves? /swt. There aren't that many to go from for MK. Most of them are for recovery (They can be used in other wasy but, yeah).

gimpy fish, you are my idol, you are actually the first person I have seen in the finals of a tournament using metaknight. Most players try to recover mk with a strike, miss, and fall to their death. You actually know what you are doing, you are a good mk player. You shoulda used 1 or 2 side specials (drill rush) tho. The only thing I think is bad about mk is that he doesn't have that many finishing moves (down smash is a good one tho) and you have to be really good to use his final smash.

I have played Melee for almost 6 years straight. And in my travels, no one has been able to beat me consistently. I have played "MLG pros" at Melee and gave them the ride of their lives. Don't say I don't know what I'm talking about when I say I want to test someone.
