  • you have to activate the auto choke by a single twist of the throttle before pressing the starter ,

  • I might be geeting a moped in 2 weeks, can't wait!

  • Not sure if anyone pointed this out as I didn't read all of the comments but your Vino is carbureted and your pilot jet is clogged. Good luck to you

  • this scooter will be toast the way you start this thing.

  • sounds like a dolphin lol!

  • Get a Fuel Injected Vespa, they start every time ,hot or cold.

  • YOU FUCKIN RETARD ... YOUR GRINDIN UP YOUR STARTER

  • @dkw12002 Are you sure your Vino 125 has fuel injection? I know the Zuma/BWS 125 does, but that's a very different motor.

  • and yet another youtube assclown!!!!!!!!

  • thanks dieselducy. it is fate that i watch this video. you submitted this video on my birthday. it is a coincidence that i wish to purchase a Yamaha Vino before watching this. this is a brilliantly made video, this video is your present to me. thank you

  • its an old piece of crap thats why

  • Makes me cringe hearing that starter grind!

  • For anyone else that has an issue like this, another thing to check is your idle speed. Get to your carb, and watch for what part moves on it when you move the throttle. Should be a screw that part bumps into when you let go. Start the bike, or try, and turn the screw both ways until it seems to idle faster.

Then just turn it towards the faster side -just- enough that it doesn't turn around and die on you. Check your intake, also your jets inside the carb too if you can!

  • If you lived closer, we could ride together man. LOL

  • SOUNDS LIKE YOUR INTAKE IS DRY-ROTTED & CRACKED after five years and 5,000+ miles. Take a good look at it Dude!

  • My 2001 Yamaha Vino did the same damned thing, and guess what? The INTAKE was full of small cracks in the rubber. That was the whole problem. It was sucking air and throwing off the air-fuel mixture...TOO LEAN. New Castle, PA

  • Siphon or drain the gas out of the tank. Put a gallon of fresh gas in it along with about 2 ounces of a product called, "seafoam". It will clean out your carb and it will start like new.

Seafoam can be used in any gasoline motor. Great for lawnmowers because they usually have gas left in them for the winter.

  • hold the throttle wide open or

give it one kick with the trottle at 25 percent - everytime - this is just pathetic

  • This is painful to watch. it sounds so sad!

Give it a bit of gas as you're starting it, it should help out a bit. And don't hold the starter on for so long. :(

  • Does it run fine when its warmed up? If it does try tracing the choke cable back to the carb and make sure it pulls open properly. The cables sometimes start to fray and dont pull as much

  • She runs like a champ once she is warm.

  • @dieselducy do you need a license do drive a scooter? cause im thinking of getting one

  • Watch my scooter run in the cold on my channel.

  • dont rev it like that when its cold let it sit on lower rpms and then go!

  • This was a nice scooter before you got it.I would try the kickstarter

  • hey how about a few more keys on that keychain. i think you got room for 1 or 2 more lol

  • holy crap man. It might help if you let go of the starter button and give it a little gas. No wonder there are issues starting it.

  • if you poke a small hole in the top of the air box and when its cold drop a couple drops of gass in the hole will cure your cold start issues....a couple drops not a squirt!!

  • i have one of these and it starts first kick every time even if its been sitting. my electric start dose not work bc the battery is messed up.

  • Are you TRYING to burn your starter up? I mean jesus fuck dude. Choke the fucking thing you fucking moron.

  • I would choke it if i could, it has/had an automatic choke and after sitting in storage for 5 years it doesnt work anymore.

  • clean the carb and put the iddle up to 1800rpms

  • @warezvz Put the idle at 1800rpm?

this bike is ment to save money on fuel, you dont just wack up the rpm to fit it

you get it repaired so it runs normally

  • @Lipsmoker

dude im working with motorcycles for more then 16 years and the optimal rpm for a 50cc 2 stroker is 1800rpm

  • @warezvz I have a 2 stroke 50cc scooter yamaha neos

    the idle isnt 1800rpm lol

  • @Lipsmoker

i personaly dont care how high your idle is, its your scooter.

But i know what the yamaha manual sudjests and i have a worksohp manual and a certificate that im autorized to repair/build/maintain them and know exacktly how they should be adjusted

  • @warezvz My yamaha neos idles at just over 1000rpm,

Wouldn't want my scooter built/maintained by someone like you because the scooter that was built wouldn't be running its full mpg capabilities after all scooters are usually for saving mpg and are usually in city streets not motorways, were idling is more important

you know its the truth just because you have a certificate and i dont doesn't meen i know any less than you.

Anybody can adjust a carb its just two screws.

  • @Lipsmoker

yes evrybody can do it so why are there service stations from yamaha all around the globe?

Also i want to see you how you take a fjr apart and readjust evrything without watching manuals or asking somebody

  • @warezvz Everybody can turn a screw the only reason People dont do it is because there either to lazy or they dont want to risk breaking it, when did (trying) something hurt when did buying your own manual and trying something hurt this world is becoming lazy nobody will admit it.

why would you take apart a Fjr just to re-adjust it,

i would find out the problem and adjust/fix that

not just take the whole bike apart and adjust things for the sake of it.

  • @Lipsmoker

the thing is that bigger bikes dont come in one peace to the shop they have plants for assembling so we can give you a garantee that evry bolt holds and that its running perfectly when you get it

  • @warezvz Well two different statements from you

you said lets see you take one apart and put it together.

i agree with you entirely the first thing i do with a new bike is take it apart, when its second hand, and i check everything and put it back together so i know everything is working right and i know were everything is and know nothing is running.

A rider has to know there bike inside and out.

  • @Lipsmoker

    yes thats true

i personaly have a 50cc and a bigger bike and i know evry on of them really in detail

  • the automatic choke will always work

  • well why am i having starting problems when it sits for more than 10 hours. i started it up the other day after it sat for about 2 months and it was really a pain..

  • @dieselducy You have to run higher octane fuel or it will start bad/stall. It has a 12/1 compression ratio dude!!

  • @xbrent1985 NEVER say Jesus's name like that!

    I'm utterly offended.

  • the scooter is running, take your finger off the starter. seriously. Owned multiple vinos and never had a problem.

  • dude my vino will start but it keeps turning off. is there anything else i can do?

  • When it starts take off and go 10mph for a while till it warms up.

  • awosme vino love this vid how long have u have had your vino ? when you were going up the hill were you going travelling at full throttle?

  • Up hill I had her opened up all the way, to achieve the 40 MPH as you saw in the vid I had it about 3/4 open due to downhill.

  • slow the fuck down asshole school zone!!

  • maybe you can put in a new choke??

  • I think it needs one. It is a damn automatic choke. if i get a new one, I want a manual choke.

  • i want one now lol

  • nice Scooter!...and Drive!
