that looks brilliant!! i love you're videos, i tend to watch a video the whole way through first before trying to make it so i have an idea and this doesnt look extremely difficult, looking forward to making it very soon, when i get my hands on paper that is haha.
I love u sooo much right now. This was the most beautiful model I've made so far!!!! Thanks sooo much for spending your precious time making a video for this model.
yaay thanks this was awesome ;) i made it on the first try cept it looked ugly =.= so im making another one. i dont have large enough paper so i taped 3 6x6inch sheets of kami paper together.... xD
wow, this is a very helpful and nice video, the steps were explained clearly, i understood every single step and i think tomorrow there will be an another origami modulle in my room, thank u very much!!! :)
Thank you for uploading this :) I'm part of the German Cultural Society in Saint Louis and we have Rosenball coming up and I think this model would be a fun model to fold for the occasion.
Thanks once again! made 3 of them, from a tissue foil (prepared myself following your another video) it was really delightful experience to fold this one!
Thanks for the video, I tried few steps with a gift paper, just for practice, Now I want to do it on a good paper, can you please tell me how much thick paper (approx GSM) should I use?
I think tissue foil is quite a good choice of paper for this model. Try not to take too heavy papyer, because in some parts of the model a lot of layers of paper meet. As to approx. gsm - I'm not really sure. It's sometimes misleading, because thin paper can be heavy, and thick paper can sometimes be quite light. [For example, tissue foil isn't really light, but it works really well for the model.]
thanks, made one recently, and I found some paper v. close to rice paper lying around, I will give it a try as well.
I know you are busy, but in future (when ever possible) please make a video about Fernando Gilgado's "Alien" I have been trying this one for a long time, but it eventually ends up in dustbin :( Perhaps I need more practice or a proper guidance
i did it.....this is not so hard but is nou easy...it's so nice model and i'm verry happy cuz i hawe one nade from miself...thamks for the vid...you explaining all the vids so good...thanks another time...:)
That depends on the wrapping paper. Try to go with something that's a bit stiffer. Wrapping paper is often very soft and "floppy", and that makes the folding harder.
I mostly get rolls of paper and then cut to size. Try wrapping paper sections, or paper sections in art stores. Not all paper is suitable, but folding in a tiny edge helps a lot in judging whether it's the kind of paper you want to fold with.
Thanks Sara :) folded it 2 times and turned out fine :D. First attempt came out pretty well, it was a 9 cm x 27 cm paper and second one was better because I used a 17 cm x 51 cm. Again, Ty very much!
Thanks for posting this Sara. I had searched this model for years, maybe since I started folding, and you... you... you've put an end to my pain and search (LOL). Thanks, I really appreciate it.
Good to hear that I managed to make it clear enough to be rated as "simpler than you imagine". Neil Elias mostly documented his models with crease patterns and a drawing here and there. So there was lots of room to play with which steps to do when and how. :)

what kind of paper did you use and where did you buy it
skaterj668 2 years ago
In this video I use wrapping paper, which I bought in Germany. It's a sort of strong Kraft paper, and is quite nice to fold with.

I made it and it's so pretty. Again a very good video Thanks

It came out lovely with typical letter paper of 24x8.
Very small and cute but pretty at the same time.
I'm getting some black on one side and white on the other for a wedding tomorrow :D

since this was my first model,it came out quite weird(the legs of the man and bot heads) but its still wonderfull!
nils3881991 2 years ago
I was afraid to fold this model because I thought it was very complicated. But you explained it in a wonderfully clear way, thank you so much!!!
By the way, this model works great with baking paper (aka parchment paper) because it's both thin and stiff. And copy paper is okay too.

& Will this model work well with wrapping paper?
FilAsians 2 years ago

AdamsSara 2 years ago
Thx 4 the vid, Sara! I'm definately gonna try it.. Btw, the picture at the end.. How do you fold the male's right leg to make it into an angle?
FilAsians 2 years ago
Just add a crimb to one of the legs. Nothing special.

Where do you get your paper? I can't find anything bigger than 5 inches square, and rarely 2 sided paper.
