Can anyone tell me what the scale of these N gauge trains is? I seem to recall that European trains run on HO scale track but are 1:76 scale. Is Euro N different from North American 1:160 scale, too?
The trains in the video are to Europe standard scale of 1:160 which is also used in the US and Japan. The UK uses 1:148. The track is universal at 9mm gauge.
So this is what I never understand: Really beautiful model-railways with lovely details here and there, everywhere.....and than Cargo runs with 300 and more???
The larger continental layouts seem to run with a parade of trains in the loop that all travel at the same speed to avoid catching up with each other. Not prototypical but the general public and the children enjoy the spectacle. As you point out the layouts themsleves have great detail.
The train is the Trans Europe Express diesel VT601 / VT11.5 There is good information on YouTube by execbase. Search for VT601 or similar. There was a HO model by Trix (Catalogue 22202) but as far as I know it's out of production. Roco produced a N scale version but I think that's out of production too. I don't know of others.
cool itso cool
