Ford Mustang Chameleon Paint Job

Don't wanna be picky but a lot of the spraying was a bit sloppy.

You know, like the gun travelling in an "arm arc" instead of perpendicular to and travelling parallel to the bodywork, maintaining the same distance at all times.

It's a really good paint job and I'm not out to criticise but if you're doing an instructional video (or one that people might watch to try to learn the art of spraying) then it should be 100% accurate or people will pick up bad habits.

I like how everyone likes to criticize but they don't know shit about a paint job. So what if he's wearing jeans, no one wears dumb paint over alls I work at a dealer and we paint cars in our denims. Proper respirator is needed though

I am SUPER currious what clear coat you guys used,

1) your painter isn't suited up, blue jeans --dust controll, GONE!

2) paper filter, why even wear a filter, that won't stop anything, and he isn't caughing his guts out! Water based??????

3) the MASSIVE amount of celar going on LOW, on the sides, the entire car should look like a water fall with all the runs, and it doesn't!

@jetta2580 looked pretty good to me. didn't see any dry spots or runs. everyone has their own style, i've seen guys spray clear coat with a two inch spray pattern, and still lay it on like water. you gotta find your own comfortable way to spray and rock with it.

@grngs1 An painting overalls, jeans hold dust an your skin, also isocynates gets through bare skin, no wonder he was wacking all the clear on all at once to try eliminate dust. I see alot of videos on youtube not wearing proper respiratory equipment i think it makes them feel big, how can you care about your work an not your health.

I believe the name is harloc or harlem, something like that. At Keystone they can explain what else you need to buy besides the paint (mid coat, clear coat, activator). If you need any more help I would be glad to help in any way.

Very Interesting Overlap and Gun Moving Techniques. The only benefit I could see is an more even finish overall (Orange Peel). I could see it leaving lots of areas of the car misted and dry due to not moving over the whole car in a uniform and persistent way. Seems to hang around the same spot for a long time. Without a VERY good booth I could see the finish off the gun being disastrous. Must use a slow hardener. Would be interesting to see spraying and results in person.

we are in charlotte, nc, but you are probibly looking at around 2000$ but it also depends what quality do you want.. it could be alot cheaper or more expencive.
