Someone else noticed this. This is one of Lise's solos from Fille. ABT put together a gpdd years ago featuring this as the girl's variation. I don't think it appears in Ashton's version, though. And ditto one everthing anyone has said here. Every part of her body tells a story
I am about to get slammed but hasn't anyone noticed that the people who film the ballet have to understand it to film it or the rest of us can't stand it.
Take the recent movie Black Swan. Lots of 'drama" and lots of sick people but not much dancing.
Evgenia is the all time ballerina every girl should dream to be, because she doesn't only shows perfect lines and precise footwork (and she has both)but too it shows how to enjoy dancing and how to be the character itself, she's pure artistry.
She's one of my most beloved ballerinas because of her charm.
Perfect pirouettes from 5th! I mean, everything was gorgeous, but those pirouettes were amazing! She was in balance in a perfect retire and landed in a PERFECT fifth EVERY TIME!
I also saw her 1/17 performance in D.C. as Kitri, I flew in from California and was jet-lagged, but she and Shklyarov woke me up with their performances! Wonderfully charming stage personality that comes through in a very big way from a petite dancer, and solid technique to go along with it. I must say I enjoyed her interpretation of Kitri as cute and playful, not as vampish as many of current ballerinas' characterizations.
It's the variation from L'Arlequinade, one of the products of Drigo-Petipa-Mariinsky cooperation and yes, now when you say it, it seems similar to La fille mal gardé variation.
the variation is taken from Drigo's score for Harlequinade. When Alexander Gorsky re-staged "Fille Mal gardee" at the Mariinsky in the 1910s, this variation found its way into the score.
So pretty! She always shows such charisma and energy , as well as clean technique, it's impossible to not enjoy seing her dancing!!!

Shame on the person who filmed this. Zooming in on her face then her feet not allowing us the pleasure of watching her whole body dance.

What a fun variation. She looks like she's really enjoying herself, too. :) She almost kind of reminds me of Patricia McBride.

She dances Kitri?
I prefere her in lyric repertoire as Juliet, Giselle, Ondine...
