The excuses for Stoners dominance are starting to wear thin and people are beginning to see how good he really is.Consider his 2006 season,riding a non factory bike he lost the front end in every crash.He failed to finish 7 races but most races he finished in the top 5.His lowest placing was 8th,Rossi's lowest was 18 and Rossi was on a factory bike with his overnight special tyres.Only occasionally would Stoner get to use these tyres.Imagine where he would have finished with a factory bike.

look stoner passes on the straight. do you understand that. when rossi was on repsol yes the bike was ahead of the others so honda gave out the bike to other teams and lots of riders won. now is different. because ducati is so far ahead in high revs which makes setup easy. not marco or capi because of riding style. yea he had the same tire in qatar but its his first year and its a night race so hard first race for tire. its really how easy is the bike setup for the pilot.

The gap has been closed to the Ducati but the cream always rises to the top, a new generation is now in place.

Great to see Lorenzo and Dovizioso put in a good performance in their debut rides.

What happened to Rossi though, he has the same tires as the winner but couldn't keep pace, mmmmmm maybe no more excuses for him. Lets face it Stoner and the Ducati are a good combination, where was his team mate, thats right in 12th was it.

Electronics don't make you a better rider, they reduce the amount of control the rider needs. Hence the reason the older riders are finding it so hard.( when's the last time you saw a high side) and you probably won't see again. Infact Rossi is the only one managing to adapt to the 800 after 500cc then 990 Last year was a development year, the first for the 800s. This year is a much more level playing field. The attitude that it was the tires or the bike that wins races is in error. It was the mistaken attitude that Honda had that they could put any rider of some skill on their bike and they would win that caused Rossi to leave Honda and immediately win the next year on the Yamaha. It is the combination of team, bike and rider that makes winners. If you do not have the best of ALL three you do not win. So... lets just hope for a good race to the championship that keeps us on the edge of our seats.

last year was a testing year... the switch from 1000cc to 800cc the team would have to work hard to find ways to make the bike faster.....casey stoner won because he had bridgestone tires and most importantly he had electronics. what is the point when he goes out once every corner get each corner set up and rides...does this realy show talent?...does it fuck it shows anelectronic bike being ridden. mayb cuz everyone runs different set ups. and there werent really alot of ducatis in the field last year. casey stoner was the youngest rider of ducati. capirossi is way older and slowing down. barros rode abit he's about to retire. and alex hoffman.......sucks. ducati desmocedini is the only competitive team using ducati with competitive riders. lets face it stoner is the only ront runner with ducati. the rest suck. this year will B good though with all the new riders signed.
