@Monger4142 280-300 I think. Maybe a little more. Somewhere around there. Came with a kydex that'll cost around 40-50 bucks. However, it was a still a great deal considering I saw a few newer generations (without the awesome looking micarta) go more with out a sheath.
@SharpSpears haha not very often, sorry i just like more bang for my buck literally i would not mind having that knife at all but a little pricey for me, have you battoned with it? i bet its great
@jacobninja25 I've done most things that you wouldn't really want to do with most knife. I've tipped pried into large downed trees. Batoned a log to make a bench (and a squirrel dead fall trap) that was about 6-7 inches in diameter and 3 feet in length. Batoned to about the last 2 inches or so, took my DMCG and using both knives, pried the log into to nice even splits. Made a bench, sat down on it, made a fire, and then proceeded to eat my sandwich. :D
@SharpSpears It would have been about 180-200 when it first came out in in 2003 or 2004. I got mine in 2008. And they discontinued them so limited run. So what I paid for it plus the sheath was a pretty decent deal. It is spendy, but it is definitely my favorite of all my knives. If I could only have one it would be this one hands down.
I don't know if I made it clear in the video, but that's not the problem. There is just not enough kydex covering the scales. It's also really thick kydex, .125 inches thick I think.
If you want that sheath to hold you knife much better there is a simple way to do it. I have a Fehrman Final Judgement that is wors than yours, If I turn the knife upside down it will fall out. All you have to do is heat it up carefully around the part of thr seath that holds the knife with a hairdryer and with gloves on and the knife out gently push the heated kydex together and once it cools it will not be loose anymore.
Thanks for the suggestion, problem is, there isn't enough material to provide good grip against the handle. There is already enough friction between the handles but there needs to be more surface area covering the handle.
The Orig price was somewhere around 200, but that was some years ago. Now they'll probably go around for 300-350 depending on condition. I got mine for 350 with the sheath and all.
If you want some of the older releases you'll have to look on the knife forums that are all around the net.
Do you still have this knife?
southernfryedyankee 3 weeks ago
@southernfryedyankee Yes and I don't plan on letting it go.

@SharpSpears I hear ya Brother, if for whatever reason you decide to throw me at the top of the list

Hey mate where did ya get the kydex??
twinjudgewarrior 1 year ago
@twinjudgewarrior It was from David Brown from BuyBrown Sheaths. It came with the knife since he sold it to me. Great person to deal with.

hey SS. how easy is it to sharpen this blade? thx man.
louieiglesias 1 year ago
@louieiglesias I've actually never really had the need to do heavy sharpening. But it's quite easy to touch up every once in awhile.

I like how yours is actually beat up.

@CHRISCOOBS That's kinda what it's made for, right? I'm suppose to use my knife, not stare it it. It might as well not be there if I'm not using it.

what did the knife cost you?

jacobninja25 1 year ago
@jacobninja25 That is quite true. Though, how often do you use an AK-47 in the woods or on a camping trip?

@SharpSpears sounds like a pretty reliable knife and a sandwich sounds good right about now :)

U can use a heat gun & tighten the retention on the sheath easily.

No skull crusher :( .
marlin187 2 years ago
Well, depending on what you define as a skull crusher. If you define it as a portion of the tang that's extended and pointed (or angular) then no.
But the tang does extend out far enough that you can use it as a pommel.

where can i buy srkw knives...is there anywhere aside from bladeforums?
supermann377 2 years ago
Not really.
Only shows and limited release runs.
SharpSpears 2 years ago
yes it does look like it needs more area covering the handle.
sevenedges 2 years ago
yep, which is why I really can't mod it. Though the sheath is still very nice, thick kydex.

Nvm about the swamp rat, I just ordered a Busse NMSFNO. SO the swamprat will have to wait!
Lemansblum5 3 years ago
I really wanted the NMSFNO but I guess having one of the rarer SRKWs is alright as well.
You're gonna love the NMSFNO. It's a great knife and would be pretty much perfect for outdoor work.
SharpSpears 3 years ago
What I would really love to get is the FFBM. Any ideas on where I can find one? Or at least start looking?

Excellent review.
Where can I get swamp rat knives? The website I found seemed very poorly constructed.

Cool mate!
Great to see you're showing off some of SR's great knives, perfect.
