the reason that this dont have a talk box and the messy sound, is because the FF didnt have a rehearsal for this song or any song. this was like a facebook thing with the people calling the song and the FF playing as requested

@KutaniCrane He uses mesa boogie triple rectifier? amps i think. They're really good amps and quite expensive aswell. Not to sure though, i think he used to use mesa boogies but he could have changed to god knows what by now xD

@KutaniCrane sounds like he's got a phaser on the clean parts, but as Fabcfab said they def. do use Mesa Boogie amps, specifically RoadKings I believe. Plus Dave uses humbucking guitars almost exclusively, esp. his signature which is based off a Gibson Trini Lopez semi-hollow. Big warm tone through that thing I'm sure.

Why is everyone being so negative about this still awesome band? Not every song has to be a number one hit. Can't they be given space to experiment like Rush and other older bands were, because if they made albums that sounded exactly the same year after year you would moan even more, probably commenting on how they were scared on branching out and trying new stuff.

I think they had to change though, dave can't do the silky smooth voice with the screaming bits anymore - and he can't reach the same high notes either. I still like FF, but I agree, for me I enjoy their earlier songs more.

I cant be more agree with you. I dont know why they (Foo Fighters) dont see it. They become famous with this kind of songs, this kind of sound. In the way to becoming more popular, they change their style for bad. I see those times so for from now.
