I watched a movie about WWII and there was one scene where a Japanese Zero flies over some indigenous people and shifts left and right so the wings alternately move up and down. The indigenous people see this and wave up at the Zero.

Something that is so easy to forget sometimes hit me like a truck when I saw that, and it nearly brought a tear to my eye. The Japanese were waving with their warplane. There are people in that plane... real, honest, good, unique, people. Not just an "enemy".

I admit the japanese are a bit harsh sometimes, but they were trying to defend themselves, and we attacked the US because US said they were going to war with us and we were trying the best we can to protect the country. You know somewhere around CoD 3 I was beginning to feel the video game world had forgotten about the Pacific Theater. Which would be kinda insulting as it's the premire of the US superpower, The Nuke, The Democratic far east, Carrier Warfare, and (partaily at least) the idea that you SHOULDN'T sap the loser's resouces and take their land creating a never-ending cycle of revenge wars that has persisted since the middle ages. I hate how in solo and multiplayer alike, the garand sucks balls. It was the first, and by far best semi auto battle rifle of it's time!!!! Making the M1A1 the last rifle you unlock and it being a 2-3 shot kill is dumb. the garand round is as wide as the mosin nagant round, and is far more accurate than the M1A1. I think the M1 should've been the final weapon you unlock, and that it was more accurate and a 2 shot kill minimum. the M1A1 should've be a 3-4 shot kill due to its snubbed down round.

It's probably because "Semper Fi" or more exactly "Semper Fidelis" is apparently Latin for "Always Fateful", Apparently the U.S Marines (Wich you play as in the Pacific Campaign throughout the game) adopted the Motto in 1883 according to Wikipedia, The Marines used the more colloquial expression "Semper Fi" reffering to "Semper Fidelis". :D

I thought I read somewhere that there was a sufficient amount of warning given for the attack on Pearl Harbor. That it wasn't as much of a sneak attack as everyone thinks. That simply action was not taken quickly enough. But I can't really site many sources for that as what little research I've done just now isn't coming up which a whole lot. Then again, that could be because so many people really believe it WAS a sneak attack. I'm not sure.
