If you're in to RPG's yes...though I highly recommend checking out The Elder Scrolls III - Morrowind first. It has the same scope though lower system requirements and it's a bit easier to start off IMHO. Plus you can obviously find it cheaper in a bargin bin by now.
Oblivion doesn't take too much, 8600GTS, 2.4ghz quad, 2 gigz RAM here, i can run it at max with good fps, cept in certain areas where there's too much grass... damn grass.
I am about to upgrade my PC to AMD X2 5000+ Black Edition, 8800GT 512MB, 2 GIGs DDR2 PC6400 Ram. What kind of FPS can I expect with everything set to MAXXXXX!????
It sounds like EXACTLY what I would build if I had to build a PC from scratch myself. I'd expect you'd get 5~15 more FPS in some circumstances then what I've been getting. Maybe? Not sure exactly but if you do get those parts please let us know.
OK. I installed the game and played it for a bit. I NEVER dropped 60 fps at the start of the game until i got the a room with the emperor etc and there was LOADS of light coming through. There i dropped down to 30 fps. Outside i got a SOLID 40fps. NEVER dropped 40 fps outside. I was running 1440x900, HDR, fullscreen, vsync and everything else turned up ALL the way+LARGE textures and EVERYTHING on EXCEPT AA. GREAT results, especially for HDR on.
my computer have explodes 3 times then im check 4 some virus. i founded 155 trojans. i just "OMFG" then my grafic card just melted im just "OMMMFFGGG" now i have only 1002gtx lol :D
Stop using Internet Exploiter...err Internet Explorer. Find Firefox, install that, disable Java (don't disable JavaScript), get AVG Free anti-virus, and if you still have problems it's left over from whatever inhumane things you've done to your computer. :-P
LoL...I am not wild about FRAPS but it sure as hell beats having to watch a video all over again just to make sure I didn't loose half the screen because the chair the camera was mounted on moved.
I keep recording the game but not really playing it (been going back to Heroes of Might & Magic V when I *do* play without recording). Roughly playable frame rates in SLI at 1280x1024 max settings with 4X AA and reasonably playable FPS with only 2X AA at 1280x1024.
If you start attacking a guard near a city, the guards INSIDE the gate will come outside, but actually, they just kind of fuzz into existence. It really detracts from the realism. :(

For all that is HOLY, it's actually in synch!!!
Even without SLI enabled it looks pretty good.
I still hate fraps though.
Maybe when I get a new card I will make a video as well and torture you by killing imps as a level 1 for ten minutes.....

Hahaha, yeah that can be quite anoying.
Gamecam has it's flaws too but I like it better than fraps.
I am keeping an eye out for a better program.
