I couldn't have said it better myself. Konami better get rid of that bastard for the official machine release. Not only is his narration *BALLS*, he speaks through the whole song virtually non-stop. Geez.

i hope someone at that test TOLD them in the comments box the announcer is ridiculously annoying, whatever gave them the idea we would enjoy nonstop talking whilst we were playing , i have no idea. i really hope they tone him down for the release
From what I was told, the game is just about ready to be shipped. If/when the arcades near my area get it, I'm going to suggest that the announcer be turned off.
I think I was one of the few players during the testing that did better without it. I can see in some places where it might work, like when the camera starts panning from side to side. I guess if I was still a tournament player, I'd try to play with it since it has its obvious focus advantages.

It's a bug. The rate the announcer talks increases according to the bpm. I dounno if it's been fixed in the final build.

You must play the song given in red on final stage to get Extra Stage. (Or any unlocked song that is listed after the Xmixes)

The internal system is probably the same, so I'm guessing yes. I would even suggest to tournament organizers to eliminate it for competitions.

So basically
-ITG had some graphic thing so when you failed a transparent black background appeared and had no effect on gameplay.
-DDR has a modifier that puts a black background under the step lane so arrows are easier to see.
Yeah, they're TOTALLY the same.
