  • omg is the driver ok?

  • awe poor bus

  • cant you hear the dummy in the driver seat saying "let me out, why are you doing this to me, well hey its better than going home to my wife, its bitch week! "

  • I like the part with all the people taking pictures with their cell phones.

  • colorado looks very nice. i should visit.

  • Wouldn't you most likely die in this scenario......?

  • what, after all that prep they skip the fireball? lol

  • and thats why i drive myself to school and good job on the training owr fire rescue only rolls the bus over and lights it on fire

  • in soviet russia, bus pushes you

  • This video makes me so mad. I understand these guys need training but I bet this bus still ran. Instead of rolling it off a cliff, why not give me the bus next time because I am in need of a vehicle and would love to have that bus. We are such a wasteful country.

  • @Intocable8306

Maybe it did run, but I'll bet you they removed the engine and transmission. Couldn't tell, but I can tell they removed the drive shaft. Besides, it was a great training tool.

  • Love how they gagged the bus driver dummy.

  • Why?

  • "Okay kids! Let's hurry out of the bus!"

    Too late...

    :P

  • i have been in a bus crash in kindergarten

  • This should be a test for new bus drivers, they have to withstand a 200ft drop to qualify as a bus driver, make sure theyre up to the job

  • seems like a slow process if anyone is seriously injured!

  • at 0:47... "OMG.. Frank!! is that you?!?"

  • I was the one taped to the seat

  • test comment...

  • why they go over the side?

  • why were the outer rear wheels removed???

  • now can you guys jump under the bus while you guys destroy it

  • Great training video!

  • Poor bus :(

  • Hope that never happens in real life.

  • Why remove the dewlys? Was it to ensure it rolled off good?

  • yes these things are almost impossible to roll

  • That makes since. I once saw a big rig on the highway with new duel tires on the trailer. Every turn looked like it would flip but never did.

  • i have been on a bus crash lat year. it almost tipped. it was scary

  • crash barriers u no them things that stop things going off the side of roads might be a good idea.. the smartist thing u did was tape up the drivers mouth lol

  • hey , if you look at 3:16 , there is some , but they probly removed them for the test , cause the weight of the bus would probly plow threw them ? idk just a proposition.

  • what a stupid show

  • wow i hope that happens to my bus!

  • trust me-no you dont. ive been on one that rolled, and it was not fun

  • yea when i was in school i did twice it fuckin sucks i always got head injuries

  • hey should come do that were i live we have had over a dozen car/truck/ big truck ricks were i live an a few bus crashes on the road that i live on... -Kyle

  • Mention this( install seatbelts ) to your school board and see how many excuses you receive.

  • Got that right. Were forced to use seatbelts. If you don't make your child use them. Some places might try and charge you with child endangerment. In the mean time your child rides a bus in which the seats come alose from the floor in the simplest of crashes.

  • Seat Belts in School Busses are even more dangerous. The seats are purposely high to protect the heads in the force of collision if you put seat belts on busses dam there would be more deaths

  • School buses are some of the safest vehicles on the road, and seatbelts in many cases would only endanger children more and create difficulty evacuating in the case of a fire for example. Also, how do you make sure 50 kids keep there seatbelts on? All it would do is cost a lo

  • Wow!! ....thanks jdgator95 for making just another excuse. Well, hmmmm You educate the kids on this safety matter. I think some of the worlds strictest parents could do this. I truley believe cutting the belts in the event of a fire would be easy. Cost?...who cares, it's all about even saving one life in a accident!! .." A seatbelt is your best defence in a crash" ......I'm sorry to hear that you don't agree !

  • If you're so frightened by school buses, homeschool your kids! As for money, there is a whole lot you could do with that money to improve safety than putting it to use where it isn't needed. Most anything deadly that could happen in a school bus wouldn't be helped by belts, spend the cash to prevent school bus RR crossing accidents, as they are much more common. Putting belts in would barely help at all if not complicate things more, and waste money that could go to other safety issues.

  • again,.......bla bla bla bla excuses, seatbelts are useless for kids on thier way to school, based on jdgator95 knowledge. Your brainwashed, I understand. There is no need to convince you about how seatbelts help to save lives, we only need to convince all those wonderful moms to speak strongly about this issue, the moms who wait at the corner with their children, and wave to them as they drive away. Thanks again for understanding. goodbye!

  • so you wanna run all over a burning bus trying to cut all 72-84 (3 to a seat) seatbelts that jammed from the accident, while the bus or other vehicles involved are burning, keep in mind you're hands will be shaking from the adrenaline, also keep in mind that the driver could be unconscious and he'd be the closest to the saetbelt cutter which is required to be within his reach... still think it's safer to have seatbelts?

  • Again,...bla bla bla excuses, show me how many videos you have seen of burning buses, all of these here are average crashes and that a seatbelt is your best defence in any crash, sure cars catch fire also but most are just average crashes and these belts always help to save needless injuries. Sorry that you are brainwashed and sorry that you don't understand or care about childrens safety!

  • Respubliklenina,

School buses are designed with high seats to keep the students safe in case of an accident or emergency breaking. If the students sit the way they are supposed to, seat to seat, back to back, then there wont be problems. You think cutting belts would be easy, NO, IT WOULD NOT BE EASY. What if the bus driver was incapacitated, what if its a bus of elementary students. It take long enough to evacuate the bus with them having seat belts.

  • In continuation to Respubliklenina: In addition, do you have any idea how hard it is to ensure each student puts a seat belt on and leaves it on. In a bus mirror, the bus driver can only see their heads or upper bodies of the older students. Its not that it would cost too much for seat belts but the seat belts would cause more problems than be good. Don't Try and Argue the point, I Drive School Buses and I drive K-6 Specifically. About 50 students in the morning and 70-80 in the afternoon.

  • @Orpackrat In America for some reason they took out the seatbelts. I believe it was because kids constantly messed around with them and nobody ever wore them

  • @Orpackrat The windshield is designed to pop right out if it is pressed against with some force.

  • Yes, but we don't demonstrate them when we practice our bus evacuations.

My bus has multiple exit points, the front door, the windshield, 2 side window exits and 1 roof exit 1/4 down the bus, 1 side door halfway though the bus, 2 side windows exits and 1 roof exit 3/4 down the bus, and 1 large rear door.

My Bus is designed to seat 84 students being 3 to a seat.

There are Seat belts in some buses but they are only in the smaller special needs buses for child seats and student who cant sit.

  • that poor Ward!

  • It's a very noble death! Rather than just going to the junkyard, it got to teach lifesaving. Not a bad end.

  • Hey randy, its Chelsey Johnson. Looks like you guys had too much fun without me! Miss you guys! Chelsey

  • good job!

  • I can't read all annotations fully, quite frustrating if you can't get the full text anywhere else easily

  • I'm unclear what you mean by "fully". The annotations definitely are not cut off or anything. If you mean you don't have enough TIME to read them, all you have to do is hit the Pause button, which will give you all the time you want.

  • Good job!

  • well done!

  • What he said!

  • Wow, a real video. Interesting. More emergency services should be doing exercises like this.

  • Maybe it's a Colorado thing? (prolly not)

My family and I participated in a similar event at the Fort Collins/Loveland, CO airport. This event simulated a terrorist hyjacking gone wrong, which resulted in a chemical bomb explosion. Funny enough, they also used busses to simulate the plane ;-)

It was a lot of fun, especially for my kids...we had to strip (down to our bathing suits of course), put on plastic trash bags and run between two firetrucks fogging (spraying) us clean.
