I was just at the Blythe Intaglios about a week ago. There are several intaglios and it is very strange how the rocks around the intaglios are very dark and the rest of the area is light right

@jeroid It is tough to say. It is almost like the rock around the intaglios is volcanic. Either way it suffered from immense heat and pressure, while the sand and rock around the area seems to be sedimentary. Maybe something landed there that changed the rock color. I honestly have no idea what could have happened. Next time I go I will get video of it and will be able to show it better

You have the date of Baalbek wrong, it is at least 4000 yrs old, perhaps much more, the roman ruins on top are 2000 yrs old, but not the large stone you were referring to.

Agreed. I think we have gotten so used to 'mechanically' doing things with equipment...that we have put all of our efforts and research into building that way.

Whereas the people of the past used physical muscle, ropes, methods of sliding on rocks, etc. to move massive objects around with not a lot of strength required. There's a video made by a guy on youtube...who basically 'recreated' stonehenge in his backyard by using various technique that allowed him to move massive stones.
