  • This is ultra gay. Lol. Jk

  • Feasible idea but could be done with better implementation. For example, the charging method of raising the scissors ladder to touch the hanging charging poles is kind of dangerous.

  • why does china have all this ev technology but we don't? why aren't we investing??? oil will run out and we will be bankrupt and they won't

  • Haters gon hate!!!

  • i like this. I want appropriate funds made available for contest for private companies to research and prototype their concepts in the US.

  • 2 Questions. Why not load the capacitors with induction at the top of the bus ? What happens if u have much traffic with many stop&go´s, the capacitors will be empty before u reach the next Station.

  • @Pitchplus8 Induction without a common ferric core is very lossy.

  • why can't busses be like this in the UK. SEEING WHERE THE NEXT BUS IS !!

  • why are we not funding this????????????????????

  • Some energy savings...recharging supercaps with a coal-burning plant. It's probably clean coal anyways, which is stupid to try and eliminate anyways. We NEED coal, and the energy demands for the planet cant ever be replaced even if China was a solar panel. UCs charge up and can be discharged fast because of low internal resistance, they have HUGE farad ratings too. Maxwell pioneered the newer research on UCs through an US grant. They also make D-cell sizes 2.5v@350 Farads if you like to tinker

  • @FaradayToRemember never say never, and if we had the storage capacity we would need far less an area than China to power the globe with solar

  • @Sordeo Okay, thats true. PV Magazine just had an article today about grants to make solar wafers cheaper by streamlining the manufacturing process; this will get solar to $1/ W, now all we need are volunteer electricians (like me) and somehow get the inverters down in cost...so that people dont need to rely on a tax credit to buy a solar setup (and the taxes come from his own pay anyways). Too bad solar in Wisconsin only has 4.4 hours per day of "usable" solar light energy even with a tracker.

  • @FaradayToRemember and they've (people actually working with solar energy) have found ways to increase the efficiency of photovoltaic cells, soon i would expect that they will finally have a net positive power production (from base material to end of useful life). there are also other methods of generating energy from the Sun (read: solar furnaces). distance to viable collection areas is however a problem, which is why solar isn't the end all be all of renewable energy.

  • @FaradayToRemember no we dont need coal - we can use hydroelectric , geothermal, and nuclear - not including all the solar

  • why not just put solar panels and wind streams on the bus?

    constant energy facepalm.

  • *facepalm*

  • Electric cars have been ready for years..

  • A bus is big , heavy and still runs smooth and long with ultracapacitors. Can anyhone explain me why the f**k people still claim that the Electric car ain't ready for the road ? A car can use a capacitor bank identical to the one ion that bus , but run for way longer distance , and get recharget in 10 minutes with a simple joe cell recharger .

  • @TheKaos90 For larger public services, ultracapacitors are good. But they're not ideal for small private or individual energy needs. They have a much lower gravimetric capacity than batteries, and much lower energy density than gasoline. They also need special equipment to monitor their voltage at all times. Furthermore, capacitors aren't very nice, and won't think twice about shooting a few hundred amperes through you if they aren't handled properly. They're still pretty good overall though.

  • trolleybus, yet iwth a tram-like pantograph

  • Sounds good but all this voltage for idiots to use. Vandals, etc...

  • Awesome!

  • SO AWESOME!

  • Diesel Hybird Technology is low tech and cheap to produce ... this is why you see these corporations and Governments pushing these bloated cost Behemoths ... No transportation systems should ever be imported into America if the Taxpayer is paying for them ... Yes Tariffs to force these manufacturers to produce the products in the states creating badly needed jobs for people out of work!

  • Awesome buses!

  • Hello!!! Please, tell me what is the name of background track starts on 4:52???

I need to know it so much...

  • wow - is that in China?

  • @finlanderxx yep

  • 1:30 what's the name song in background ?

  • Why the background music? why?!?

Seriously though, it's a cool concept.

  • Do you know what is name song in background ? in 1:30 min

  • @Skamrei: Enya - Orinoco Flow

    ( watch?v=xfVJ11GXzXQ )

  • Yes that's a great idea. Let's all sit in strong electromagnetic fields while waiting for a bus.

  • lol

  • you get much more electromagnetic when your microwave is turned on. The electricity is inside the electric grid, not on top of the charger.

  • That's why I don't use microwaves.

  • Even if the overhead charging bars were running high current, the current wouldn't flow anywhere until the bus hooked up to it. Besides, the bars would probably run a very low voltage to sense when the bus hooked up to them, then power up for the charging, to prevent issues with fried seagulls and arcing.

  • This is incredible. We have the power to do this - whoever said that doing something about global warming would kill the economy was a fool.

  • @ilumina911 and you are a moron :P...seriously so how educated are you???...done a phd in energy econ.........???....do u know the difference between the cost of electricity from different sources...zzz
