  • This seriously needs a download link.

  • duddeee soooo gooood

  • i can hear alot of SRVs influence in your playing !! very nice phrasing,,you can tell you play from the heart i respect that! SRV would be proud man

  • dude! I have a question!

I think I blew up something on my Mac because I was using Speaker Out instead of Line out on my 80 watts amp. If I buy the tascam us 122 will I be able to record again? And how does it work on garageband? Was it easy to set up?

    Thanks in advantage =]

    Guido

  • your tone definitely suffered on this one

  • Man, your music's really good! and ive seen ur other videos, the old ones. and i respect your mom and grandpa for having that great musical influence on you. what a great gift to pass on a talent like that to your children. Your music's great and especially ur style, blending SRV's and Hendrix's styles. My only advice is, when u become even better of a kickass guitarist dont let your confidence get in the way cuz it always does and takes a way from the music.

  • vonk tow three

  • fuckin virtuosos...playin like hell...(ok..close to) and complaining about the punch in their sound...

    :D

    dude, you got it!

  • If you want to hear a master at working the volume control/knob on a strat, check out Walter Trout Does Beethoveen. Walter is a master of the stratocaster. If you haven't heard him, go to his videos now and you'll see what I mean. I've seen him four or five times, once 10-15 feet from him for an hour and a half. Nothing short of amazing.

  • walter trout is amazing. this guy needs some more dynamics in his playing, and varying his tone :)

  • i love your playing - ive just spent about forty minutes watching ur vids =] and you have malmsteens flute thing nailed bythe way!

I just wanted to say fair play to you =]

  • dang dude will you do some blues instructional vids?

  • that was such a crazy tongue solo at the end

  • you sounds very good !

  • i've gotta tell you man, you inspire me. it's helped my playing quite a bit from watching you to know that so much can be done with just one string i wonder how that would've sounded with a soft chorus.. keep jammin mang.

  • Hi, WOW that is realy heart touching playing. 5 glittering stars and love from Austria - Sharine

  • A Vocal-less Guitarism but a great Guitarism none the less *****

    Rocket

  • Great job, Particle Physics Man! The music is beautiful. Love the orange wall, the camera framing, even the light switch. Simple and very effective.

  • sounds good. fan of all your videos especially castles made of sand. (Huge Hendrix fan and you did more than enough justice)

PS i really like the editing on the vids. The WOO! made my laugh hard. don't know why but its funny.

  • i love your handssssssss lol =O fast !!

  • this is sick, dude

  • SOunds great, I think if you drive a 12ax7 tube higher into distortion you might get a crunchier punchier sound... . but very cool.

  • Hey!You really are awesome

  • Love this stuff, perfect groove.

I myself seem to develop some groove this year very similar to your style, only playing once in every 3 days, but your stuff sure is some great inspiration and groove fix.

  • great moment as eveytime... thanks man..

  • My finger is pretty messed up, I can still play but not 100%

  • ah man that is a drag. will it be 100% again?

  • I doubt it, its missing a bit and the nail doesn't cooperate, I got accustomed to working around it with the other three fingers, but its almost like starting over

  • that is horrible...I have a feeling the heart is stronger than constraints of this world..if a man can play with no arms and use his feet....you can do it I am sure...I have faith in you WiZZY

  • Yea. I can still play. Thanks Darryl, how you been? It's been awile.

  • This is like my third time watching this video James... the video sounds better every time. How do you do that? :)

  • Had to stop by for a JW fix..awesome my friend *****

  • soulsistah - well thank you so very much :) I really dig your tunes!!

  • hey james love it bro, very beautiful, could u possibly post a lesson on this one or tabs? what kind of strat is that

  • SGVB22 - that's a 70's reissue, probably won't be a lesson on this, but I might do a lesson on my style, how I play in general. It should be pretty beneficial!

  • Nice.

  • so i know this guy james....and he's got some skills with a guitar

(i fought the urge to spell skills with a z right there, for the record)

  • Kristy - hahaha if he's handsome, give him my number ;)

  • is this inprov? and is so like what scales you using for then

  • deb - yep, it's improv! I'd say mostly the 'blues' scale with some nice passing tones which play with pentatonic minor/aeolian/dorian and some mixolydian/beboppin. that oughtta cover 'em!

  • Ah, and the swells sound gr8 2. Hey u ever thought about doing any covers from Where the light is, John Mayer?? like any of the Trio stuff??

  • Did u practice that alot or it just started working out for u the 1st couple times???

  • yozo - I've been playing a lonnggg time :)

  • right at 45 and 46 sec. do u just hammer on like the 20th fret or do actually pick a note, and how many strings??

  • oh the sliiide. Well there's no real way to do it. You just lightly mute the strings with your left hand, and strike them with your right, and slide on down pressing down on the strings! it doesn't matter where you start, it varies everytime I do it.

  • Nah for real though???

  • haha!

  • well what do you mean by slides?

  • Ha! JW let me know where I can get some.

  • yozo - they sell the magic dust at the "years of hard work" store :)

    5 stars *****

  • luvmyprs - thanks man!! rock on!

  • Cool, I'm a starter and would be interested in what exercise/strategy has helped you advance the quickest in your development as a player?

    Thanks a bunch!

  • centrum - there is no easy way. It takes 10,000 hours of study before someone becomes an expert. Start workin!

  • lol someone marked you as spam and I can't unmark it! it ignores my request. SOMEONE sHALL PAY

  • very good production.....:) Always a fun ride !

  • julie - why thank ya!! I hope it wasn't too bumpy :)

  • The subtitles were a great add on and were also funny haha :D and as always man you rock! this was once again fantastic!

  • overkill - hahaha thanks man :) rock on!

  • Awesome stuff, as always. That's an interesting move you do around 1:45. I never thought of using the volume knob that way. I'm gonna experiment with that sometime.

  • Joe Bonamassa does that a lot... as well as Davy Knowles. It's a cool trick.

    Great video BTW.

  • Most guitarists turn the volume knob on and off :) I think Eddie Van Halen is best known for doing some cool things with the volume knob.

  • I loved this. Are you a career musician or what do you do? Just curious.

    Tc,

    Lindsay

  • Lindsay - I'm a particle physicist :)

  • Few things... : you suck ..... because your SO FRIGGEN GOOD lol.

Got a little Jeff Beck Going there with the volume control -- and a little Hendrix at the end -- when am I going to see you light your guitar on fire? or duck walk? or see a talking guitar? because I wouldn't put it pass you to do it.

  • Suzy - hahaha once I get more space!! and a fire extinguisher :)

  • James, awesome job!

    :)

  • awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • rachel - haha right on!! :)

  • Hellllaa yaa James!!!!

    xo

    A

  • James...sounds cool...The first part tone wise reminds me of a fusion of Stevie Ray and Robin Trower. If you want a cool sound for volume swells an old echo plex hooked up to a volume pedal is the ticket!

  • Buckhead - oh yea man, my volume pedal is a bit noisy! needs new pots :(

  • digging that tone man, it sounds great. and the subtitles keep me following haha, great work once agian my man

  • noobs - hahaha right on! yea i thought it would help add a touch of humor :)

  • Your Space jam, reminds me of Peter Frampton man, you amaze me on that axe!!!!!!

    Peace,bruddah!!!!!

    Ace77man

  • Ace77man - hey man, glad you got your channel back!! thanks for diggin!

  • TERUKO5 - right on! thank you :)

  • I just registered for the sole reason of telling you how awesome you are.

I'm going to go play my guitar and hope I'll be as good as you someday.

  • guitarman - now that is probably the best comment I've ever received. You are the MAN!

  • Was just forcin the bf to take a looksy and a listen when i noticed this is ur 100th vid! Congrazzzz or something:)

  • chrissy - hahaha nah I have like 108 or something, some are just private! bwa ha ha

  • hey, finally found it! woohoo! well done. Sounding great!

  • carosel - haha I really really really appreciate you taking the time to check out my videos :) I am such a big fan of ya'll, just really good music. Thanks agaiaaiaian :)

  • From my point of view, the way you play, you could make a cigar-box strung with rubber bands sound incredible. So with this setup, you're producing a massive stadium-filling sound, even if it's a tone that you're not digging completely.

But if mere mortals like me had to give you advice, I'd say boost the bass and the high-midrange just a teeny bit and see what happens.

Hope to hear lots more from you soon, James!

  • Keith - haha my treble and bass knobs are maxed out!! they go to 12 bahaha suck on that spinal tap.

But we'll see, I'll maybe bring the treble down a bit to fatten it up, or boost the presence and lower the gain. I'm also in channel 2, which has lower gain too. Lots of knobs to turn!!

  • James James James. Youuu are groovy. :) yeahhh, fo sho!

    youuu are like amazinggg seriouslyy.

i hate you for not having a twin. lol. jk.

this is better than cupcakes. :)

  • Jess - i would like to trade those stars for cupcakes if i may :)

  • hhmm 5555 billion million cupcakes??

I guess that will work...but only cuz your wetzel cake!!!! :)

would you like frosting?? you can lick that like your guitar lol :)

  • Jess - haha chicken fried cup cakes?

  • chubbs - I agree!! :) hahaha

  • James, I totally totally enjoyed your Guitarism jam I would of given you 6 stars, but your Vocal-less Guitarism had you saying "One Two Three" at the beginning

    5 Stars

  • GregoryLog - hahaha well if you're going to get picky!!! lol :)

  • Around 1:11 nice lick, heheh.

  • Red - ya man, one of my favorite's to play!

  • Absolutely awesome, dude. :)

The Space part was kinda funny, and it also sounded a little like typical japanese traditional music on some part...a very great mix if you ask me. xD

All together it's a great jamming and I think a song like this woul be absolutely great!^^

  • Akitsuya = hahaha right on!!! Yea I hope it develops along into a nice song! thanks man :)
