All i meant to say is that never ever scalp off with just Stochastics indicator like DTRS is saying in this video!!! You can get lucky on 1-2 trades but i bet u will have more losers than winners with this technique!!! PRICE ACTION is always y0ur first indicator!!!! Support and resistance (on daily and w/e time frame you looking @ ) then comes the stoch and volume.
@PunZaBiJaTT DTRS uses price action, trendlines, support and resistance for his trade setup and uses stochastics as a confirming indicator or a timing indicator. If you go through more of his videos you see he's really solid.
@leejacob120 I understand wat u sayin..!I I subscribe to DTRS myself but i'm just talking about this video lee..it's totally wrong..trust me ..scalping on Stochastics can CRUSH you..Swing trading is easier than scalping..Scalping means large amount of shares..u see a stock moves 20 cent against you..u gonna panic(I'm talking about newbies who gonna watch this video..Stochastics is not the way to do it the right way) It's just a indicator to be used with other indicators as leejacob120 stated.
@PunZaBiJaTT I subscribe too but I've gone completely off the idea of leaving trades open overnight. Could you reccomend a good video on scalping? I tried scalping the other day by going long on pullbacks on the 1 minute charts, using oversold stochastics and any trendlines that looked legitimate. It worked but I don't know how effective that approach would be long term.
@CaptainStern2 I haven't totally made it as a full time trader yet but I'm starting to really see what things work well for me and what things don't. I think that what you just described that you do ought to work long term in any overall bull or bear market (though more effective in bull markets), but I'd recommend using 5min charts over 1min charts because the channels and trends you'd discover on 5min would be a little bigger and have more movement behind them - at least I find that works ok
very very wrong information !!! I respect DTRS but this is very very wrong video and infomation !!! I daytrade/scalp myself everyday but this video can blow your account int minutes !!!! It's very easy to explain when something is already done !! Totally different when you in the market's live. Stochs r laggin indicators!!! Big stocks like Gs and stuff has 10-20 cents spread sometimes in bid/ask it can kill ur scalp!! second.Stoch can stay embed for long time (on upside move and downside move)
Ha funny you came out with this video. I was workign on the same strategy for scalping applied with my channels and you dropped this video. Great minds think alike!!
@askchrishetrades. This is beautiful - especially during the occassions of when it works; but, as any sensible trader would know, on many, it doesn't, especially utilizing the stochastic as a leading indicator, does provide more bad signals than good and it is too anticipatory to be reliable. The aspect of divergence does not make the price rise or fall. One must always monitor the market situation and have his target in mind. Great minds hopefully will think alike!!
@eddyvideostar I am not new to stochastics. I have been using them for a long time along with my other proprietary tools. Its just lately that I have been doing some testing on it for scalps along with my system. Does wonders =]
To: Askchrishetrades. Good. I see that you have been using stochastics for a long time with other tools: why is it "just lately" you have decided to do some testing on it. Was this not working prior? Especially for scalps, this provides poor consistant indications. You are aware that this is an overly bought/sold indicator which renders itself useless within a healthy trend. It has a finite roof and floor and in a trend, it just crosses over at the 80-100 range just like one doing crochet.
@eddyvideostar I have done testing with it before, but really never had the chance to test in with my channel system I use. The channel being my main system I use works purely on price action and time. I really don't use indicators at all, but stochastics is the only real indicator I like and give credit too IF USED CORRECTLY with your style of trading. Yes, and I know what stochastics are. Your not talking to a rookie here. Askchrishetrades.blogspot.com do some research on me.
anyone know what platform does he use?
