john had a lot of great advises in your videos. this one is probably the best one. i would never have thought of doing that in a ball in hand situation. so simple yet so overlooked. thx for sharing your lessons with schmidt
actually, in the 9 ball #1 video he does something similar moving the 9 in front of the hole. he's an intelligent player. damn those straight pool players! lol
You're sure right about John being an intelligent player. He used to (maybe still does) warm up every day by running 100 balls. Solving a rack of straight pool can be a challenging puzzle. Imagine in a years time how many clusters you'd have to break up and leave a shot, how many time you'd have to gently bump a ball to create a break shot. Straight pool is an awesome way to practice pool no matter what game you play.
