  • john had a lot of great advises in your videos. this one is probably the best one. i would never have thought of doing that in a ball in hand situation. so simple yet so overlooked. thx for sharing your lessons with schmidt

  • actually, in the 9 ball #1 video he does something similar moving the 9 in front of the hole. he's an intelligent player. damn those straight pool players! lol

  • You're sure right about John being an intelligent player. He used to (maybe still does) warm up every day by running 100 balls. Solving a rack of straight pool can be a challenging puzzle. Imagine in a years time how many clusters you'd have to break up and leave a shot, how many time you'd have to gently bump a ball to create a break shot. Straight pool is an awesome way to practice pool no matter what game you play.
