I was there as a 17yr old....Before this song I was looking for the piano....thinking maybe they'd roll one out before the song. I'm not a huge 'piano' fan or anyting, but that piano riff would kill me for some reason!jumping around, beating the back of the couch with drumsticks (didn't have drum set yet!) whenever I'd hear this song. But this concert showed me the Clash live was paired down to the basics and 100mph! I loved Joe's in between song rants! They make great outgoing voicemail messg

The Clash's albums are very different to the live act. Some versions of Guns of Brixton are entirely different and don't have a bass at all - Paul didn't feel right singing and playing bass at the same time. I prefer this version, the album cut of Rock the Casbah is probably one of my least favourite Clash songs.
