i believe it is all Beryl's treachery. She destroyed the civilization and blamed it all on the princess. beryl was so selfish that she did not even care the world was crumbling around her.

Production values aside (and I applaud Japan's TV industry & audience for not letting it get in the way of a good story) I wish American TV shows had the imagination to deal with things on this scale.

Most Japanese girls have two types of the voices: the cute bubbly one Westerners refer to as the "chipmunk squeal" and a deeper more Office Lady-type voice used for work and the like. Both voices are Sawai's natural voices; in fact if you google interviews with her, her everyday voice sounds like a blend of the two: half "girly squeak" and "half mature woman." Hope that makes sense.
