@Penutbuttercupcakes Yes you can but you must cycle your plastic conatiner just you would a new tank this is a must since it will not be a tank that you will be putting fish in. What I did with my conainters is that I first clean the containers with hot water then cold and cleaned it with some of water from my tanks which are now cycled then again with hot water or cold water. Wait about 1 weeks before putting any fish then add a fish every 3 to 4 days.

@Penutbuttercupcakes There is a good chance that they might during the spring and earl summer season. Goldfish dont breed/ spawn during the winter but if you have the tempature between 70 to 75 degrees there is a chance they might. When you look at your fish from the front of tank look at the body (the side part) you can sometimes see the difference between males and females.
I'm looking there about the same size but the slim one is like u said it's not rounded but the fat one is but the fat one is constantly moving so it's hard to tell thnkz alot for the advice

@Penutbuttercupcakes Sounds like you have a male skinny one and female fatter one. Look at then from the top of the tank males will look slinny and females will look more fatter. Even with fantail goldfish males will have a less rounded shape and females will have a more rounded shape. Vent are where the poop comes out females will have a white bloob sticking out or will have litke a little hold sticking out like a vocano males will have a small pin point dent

@123codfan If you just bought this is sometimes normal and just let them get used to their new tank and check the fish for any sings if they are sick. What I you to do is get some food but instead of just throwing it you will hand feed your fish. Get realy close to the fish and then open your hand very slow and if it does not want to eat close hand before all the food spread around the tank if the happens just garb the food and try it with the rest of the fish

@123codfan Check all your fish if they are sick if not then what you can do is leave the light off for about 1 to 2 hours and see what happens it might be that the water tempature might be to worm for them. If it is over 83 degrees then that is a little to worm for them even for some troipcal fish it can be to worm for them.

@9912699125 I throw away the non fertlized eggs if it is possible to remove them. If there is no way to remove them I just leave them their. A air pump is better because with the filter there is a chance they will get sucked up but many people use sponage filter. This is a fantail goldfish and the tank is a 1 galloon tank and did not use any filter or pump in this video since they were only video for show and I dont keep them here.

gorgeous fish, they look cramped in this tank, i know its for breeding only, but its still a bit sad. i just let mine breed in my 150g and then remove the plants with the eggs attached. the males are so pushy when it comes to breeding i like my girls to have room to escape during spawning. males are soooo randy lol!
Yes I know they look cramped they got me by surpriced when they started breeding in the main tank and since I had removed some zebra danios fry. I just very fast clean tank and put them in here. When there is only it is not bad but when you 3 males after the female it gets very bad

1 Yes they go away. Many males will have the breeding tublercles not only on there gils but on their fins and some on head. Alot of times breeding tubercles are very small that you need to see the fish very close to see them. She will get eggbound to a certain point after for example 2 to 3 months she will relase some eggs without breeding with the male. I have never had any of fish die because of this and I dont belive your will die either.

I know which ones you are talking about. For those it is the same as the non fancy goldfish only with these are a little hard to tell but will tell how. Males when you look from the top of the tank they will slimmer and females will be much plumper and wilder body on the sides. 2 another way you can tell is the looking at vent of fish that is where they poop. Females will have like a blob that sticks out. Males vent is intented will look like a samll dent or hole. Hope this helps.

a 55 galloon tank is good size. Yes if you have a male and female they will. It will depend some stores carry more males than females and other more females than males. But you will find more females than males. How big our fish?
In the petstore, they are only like, 2 inches long -- little babies! I really want to breed them, cause 10 gallons are 10-14$, and I have an extra filter, so I could raise the babies in there.
10 gallons is a good size tank to breed them. 2 inches long it will be a little hard to tell because they are growing but It is possible to tell males from females. For females get the fish that looks very fat and for males get the thin or slimmer one.

If you look at them from up above you will see that the female will be more fat and fatter when full of eggs. Even if you look at them from the front of the glass you will see big difference.

With this one very easy because all the other goldfish were males. To find one it will depend on the store that you go to. Some stores carry more males than females and more females than males. Females if you look from side or above the tank will be fat and males slimmer.

lol ive been waiting for my goldfish to breed for..a while now. Um, can there be a male without white dots? i think my goldfish are actually females.

Yes there can be a male without the white dots. The whit dots only come on when the male is ready to breed with a female. If you look at them from the top or side males will always be slimmer.

I know which ones you are talking about. For those it is the same as the non fancy goldfish only with these are a little hard to tell but will tell how. Males when you look from the top of the tank they will slimmer and females will be much plumper and wilder body on the sides. 2 another way you can tell is the looking at vent of fish that is where they poop. Females will have like a blob that sticks out. Males vent is intented will look like a samll dent or hole. Hope this helps.

omg, yeh thanks so much :) i think my goldfish are male and female =P i used to think that if the vent seems to go inward and seems slightly bigger, means its a female..

Cool! I'm getting a 55 gallon tank soon, and I'm going to put 2 fancy goldfish inside. I hope they will breed! Do you think they will? (What are the chances of me getting a male and a female, considering they are too young to tell...?)

a 55 galloon tank is good size. Yes if you have a male and female they will. It will depend some stores carry more males than females and other more females than males. But you will find more females than males. How big our fish?

In the petstore, they are only like, 2 inches long -- little babies! I really want to breed them, cause 10 gallons are 10-14$, and I have an extra filter, so I could raise the babies in there.

10 gallons is a good size tank to breed them. 2 inches long it will be a little hard to tell because they are growing but It is possible to tell males from females. For females get the fish that looks very fat and for males get the thin or slimmer one.

Ok, thank you! I SOO cannot wait till I get the tank! I think it will take a couple more months, because we have to finish the bathroom in the basement, then paint the basement, then put the carpet in, THEN we can get the tank!!!! =)

Yes they did breed successful but some eggs got eaten and some eggs are very hard to see to video them.
