Is this a sequel to "Grosse Frieheit nr. 7", or just a return to it's theme? Whether he's Johannes Kroeger or a different "Johannes", it's interesting to compare 50s Hamburg to the way it looked in the 1944 film.
@antoniod I would say it's a return to the theme. What you compare is mainly the studio decoration. Especially in 1944 Hamburg didn't look nice because of the war destruction. The movies produced in 1943/44 had to show more illusion than ever before.
