hi nice work could you advise me how repair the keel hole in bottom of fireball sail boat i'm turning it into fishing boat keel hole 1.3/4" by 50" long thinking packing out strips marine ply maybe fibre glass bottom?what do you suggest?
@MrRidr2 Hi, if I'm understanding you right what you want to do is get rid of your keel slot rather than repair it. If that's the case then what I did on the dinghy in the video was to plane a length of 2" x 2" to fit into the keel slot then hammer it home and glass it in then cut the remnents of the keel box out later. In my case I think the new hull skin covered the entire keel slot, but if not then facing it with a single strip of marine ply sounds like it ought to be plenty good enough.
Hiya. Thanks for your comment. The stumpy bit at the front isn't for a mast... it's what you tie the boat up to a mooring with. And you get the videos on a web page by using the snippety of "Embed" code that YouTube offers you just to the right of the video.
greate video, thanks for the inspiration... and great kiwi song too
