  • greate video, thanks for the inspiration... and great kiwi song too

  • I'm (trying to) renovating a Solo dinghy at the moment. Your vid is great and really encouraging.

  • @davemakesawave Cheers dave, there's an hour long version showing you various things in much more detail that you might find encouraging too.

  • Very nice job. Congratulations!

  • What kind of paint did you use ?

  • @bulldog01209 if I remember rightly the paint was teamac marine gloss

  • Wow so nice work man!! also with italian flag! great!

  • Well Done :)

  • @PenhillNews Thank you, it was a very satifying project.

  • hi nice work could you advise me how repair the keel hole in bottom of fireball sail boat i'm turning it into fishing boat keel hole 1.3/4" by 50" long thinking packing out strips marine ply maybe fibre glass bottom?what do you suggest?

  • @MrRidr2 Hi, if I'm understanding you right what you want to do is get rid of your keel slot rather than repair it. If that's the case then what I did on the dinghy in the video was to plane a length of 2" x 2" to fit into the keel slot then hammer it home and glass it in then cut the remnents of the keel box out later. In my case I think the new hull skin covered the entire keel slot, but if not then facing it with a single strip of marine ply sounds like it ought to be plenty good enough.

  • Nicely done.

  • How much did it cost to restore it?

  • It cost more than I got for it when I sold it a year later but it was still a great project.

  • Thats always hard to do.

  • PROPER JOB !!!

  • What a bit of work that was! Great job. Now you have a very nice, fun boat.

  • I've been building a plywood boat for seven years.

    Good work on yours.

  • couldn't you have spent that time doing something useful?

  • very nice jobs me hearties,What was the bit at the front for a mast? and how do you get links on your page ta.

  • Hiya. Thanks for your comment. The stumpy bit at the front isn't for a mast... it's what you tie the boat up to a mooring with. And you get the videos on a web page by using the snippety of "Embed" code that YouTube offers you just to the right of the video.

  • Very nice work.

  • Great video Col, of course we all know ho did most of the work!!! hahaha
