I really like what you're doing here, but I feel that the hit detection, with the player going inside walls feels really awkward and the fact that the camera is not constantly centered at the player kind of deducts from the feel of speed and visibility.
omg I really want to know the mechanics behind that grappling chain. If you could give me any idea of the concept behind the mechanics id greatly appreciate it.. i think I might even try working on that tonight.
like a butterfly, your game surely must find a way to escape from it's 'demo' cocoon like so many other games people work on fail to do.
speaking from experience of trying to do stuff, at some stage you need to take a serious look at focusing on gameplay/level design over coding. adding bits to the game one by one won't work forever.
Having said that, starting by defining your main character is surely a flawless way to go.
Yeah, It looks balisticly good bro :) Computer dem aytime? I don't have an Xbox or an xbox 360 or w/e... also, Ilike how everything works in the directionof the crosshair but I'm curious if the way the enemy is cut depends on the angle you hit it from. Anyway, looks awesome ad I'm sbcribng so I dn't miss ay updates ;)
Why can't people do more games like this? :D I have been searching for games of this type for ages, thanks for making one!! If you are in need of a soundeffect and/or music -guy, send me a pm.. I love creating soundeffects, and I've been doing music and sfx (as a hobby) since '96, I was 13 back then I think :)
It's fun just taking any sound(and I mean ANY) and editing, tweaking, adding etc. to create a wicked & unique sound.
Just letting you know, not a biggie if you don't need help. Subscribed!
I'm still looking forward to trying this game. If you think its far enough, you should put up a demo for other people to try it out. I can't wait to try the grappling hook, it looks like a fun tool to use.
AI is pretty difficult to do in any coding software but nice artwork. and why dont u try to use flash? and it could be more like a flash game kinda o.o
I'm sure he really cares what bothers you about his game. If you knew the time, energy and thought that went into this game, or any other game, you would probably not say things like that. You probably couldn't handle the logic that went into the simplest aspect of this game.
Most people really don't understand the energy ,time, logic, and programming skill it takes to do even then simpliest game. Plus, his game looks better than many of the Professional paid releases I've seen from other independent studios.
Thanks for your comments bitplane. For youtube I recorded at 640 x 480, but the full screen resolution of the game is 1600 x 900, so the play area is way bigger in reality. Dynamic zooming would be cool though.
One criticism, it looks a little cramped. I think you should pan the camera depending on the movement speed so you can see further ahead, maybe even also zoom out a bit depending on speed if your tile manager/camera/sprites allow it.
I think you should add an option that allows you to increase or decrease the blood amount, that would be cool.

It's a bunch of point masses (which are the dots you can see) linked together with springs and dampers.
