  • theres a couple reasons why pakistan has never and will never won/win a war against india

    1)gurkha regiment

    2)sikh regiment

    3)rajput regiment

    AYO GURKHALI

  • what is the clan tartan they are wearing ?

  • @sgtgewart1 The regiment was raised during the Gorkha War by Sir Robert Colquhoun on 24 April 1815 . They wear the family tartan of the Colquhoun's

  • @sonamkapadia . Sir I " dips me lid to ya "

  • Great!

  • Indians Gorkha's are THE BEST . . . 10 times better than british gurka and better than anyone else!!! cheers!!

  • I've loved the Gorkhas since 1986 when we went on exercise with them.

They couldn't find their way round Salisbury plain because the maps said there were hills and they were looking for mountains.

Tiny blokes but by eck they could run all day!

  • @winton50 Funny story.

  • @winton50 Lol Funny story.

    Ayo Gurkhali !!!

  • i have said this before, this is old british army, "dig yer heels in! bags o' swagger" thats what these brilliant troops are doing. i got it in the sixties when i was in. hasn't changed. brilliant.

  • the band master just walks on his heels ... and does not touch toes in the ground

  • if you look at the marching, these soldiers "dig their heels in" and give it "bags of swagger" just the way i was encouraged to do by my NCOs in the 1960s when i was in the army. this is a legacy from the time that british troops were in India. Commonwealth soldiers all seem to be the same, show offs, but highly disciplined. ayo ghorkali!

  • Indian Gorkhas >British Gurkhas

  • I would think they are similiar until 1947, they were part of the same army and have served together

  • @GFAWJ all gurkhas are gay clowns paid mercenary dogs of british

  • @GFAWJ As stated, they come from the same army. I'd say with the better kit and technology, combined with years of recent combat experience, the British Gurkhas are far better than their Indian counterparts.

  • @GFAWJ As stated, they come from the same army. I'd say with the better kit and technology, combined with years of recent combat experience, the British Gurkhas are far better than their Indian counterparts.

  • @BertrumPantyshield Would agree on the kit but Indian Gorkha troops would be far more battle hardened. They have fought terrorism in Kashmir for past 21 years, major war with Pakistan in 1999 and high altitude warfare in Siachen in 1984.

  • @sonamkapadia Well how about British Army Operations- Falklands War, Gulf War, Sierra Leone, Bosnia, Kosovo, Invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan. Add on standing deployments of those and also Cyprus, Gibraltar, Brunei, Belize and regular visits to German and Canadian training areas, and 35+ years of Northern Ireland.

I must stress; I am very aware of the equal skill and bravery of the Indian Gorkhas, however believe that as a fighting force, superior kit and experience make the Gurkha better.

  • @BertrumPantyshield The constant action in 21 years in Kashmir and Siachen are the difference. Both are extremely harsh terrains. Take your point on the equipment and support. Hopefully, we will have a time where we don't have see soldiers in harm's way

  • @sonamkapadia Many of the above aren't exactly picnics either; in fact Southern Afghanistan has many similarities to the areas you describe. Indeed Nepal, India, Pakistan and Afghanistan all share the tectonic fault line.

Hopefully we will see peace, but then what will happen to the Gurkhas? It may not be a glamorous or acceptable job, essentially a mercenary, (though of course I'll never say that to a Gurkha) but communities in Nepal would suffer as a result. Prosperity through peace I suppose.

  • @BertrumPantyshield I agree they are not picnics but they are not Siachen. Siachen is the harshest terrain in the world, it is high altitude mountains and conflict is maintained throughout the year including winter.

If there is peace, it will have it dividends including those for the Gorkhas. The British forces reduced Gorkhas from 4 Regiments in 1947 to just Brigade ( around 3 battalions) but that has not dented either the prosperity or the fighting fame of the Gorkhas.

  • @sonamkapadia Sadly it's only 2 infantry battalions (the third being disbanded in 1993/4) and an engineer and signals regiment. Then again, with defence cuts being the only defence policy post 1945, that'll be the entire British Army in 20 years time.

  • @sonamkapadia .... the vdo you posted is of the gorkha regiment of the indian army... its the 5th GR .. I dont know what made you feel the british army gurkha are better than the army... i will tell you its not the equipment for infantry that gauge the army its the skill, training, motivation and esprit de corps ... rest of the army units need modern sophisticated equipment ... but the infantry still fights with his rifle and the bayonet ... and the guts and raw courage ...

  • @nungleppam The video is of 4/3 GR.It is my brother's battalion. We got the video when we visited them a few years ago for flag raising day.

I don't think that British Gorkhas are better than Indian. Quite the contrary, I think the Indian GR regiments are far more battle hardened. Fully agree with your comments on the Infantry

  • @GFAWJ those are british Gurkhas. they where the same until India became Indpent. the Brits had to give up 6 of 10 battions to the indians if i remember

  • wow that typical way of walking of the leader hahahaha... check it around 0:44...

  • @Nickthefirst71 you wouldnt laugh in his face, take it from me. these guys are the hardest of the hard.

  • According to historical account. The Gurkhas or Gorkhas were the only troops that the Pushtus truly respected during Britain's expedition into Afghanistan in the last century.

  • Do you know what Hitler once said about Gurkhas? He said "if he had Gurkhas then he can win all over the world" he went further " there is nothing in the world I scare of but Gurkhas".

  • unfortunatly for hitler the british cought onto that fact a little faster and employed them asap.

these men these hero's serve our country with honor and undeniable loyalty.

we owe them a debt of honor a debt which thanks to joanne lumley that will now be paid in full.

    welcome to britain lads....welcome home.

  • Long live Gorkhas,,we are truely proud of you. 10x 4 post.

  • during the tour of afghanistan last september, 2nd Battalion the Royal Gukha RIfles suffered two KIA- Pvt Yubraj Rai n Color Sgt Krishna Bahadur Dura.

may their souls rest in peace.

    "kaphar hunu bhanda marnu ramro"!!

    jai gurkhali

  • uk and US use Gurkhas as butter paper nothing more then this , now they have a plan to put into toilet "UK Army planning to disband Gurkhas" because they are no longer requred

  • my late father (RCAF) served with the RAF in India and Burma in the Second World War. He told me more than once about the Gurkhas and what a respected and excellent fighting force they were. It is obvious in viewing this video, that their professionalism also exists in the band. What a privilege to watch them perform, thanks for posting this video.

  • gurkhas are not from india or burma they r from nepal

  • You are correct, they are from Nepal but they serve in the Indian army. 6regiments. In WW II, they had extensive service in the Burma theatre amongst the many other places that they have fought in including Italy, Northern Africa, Malayasia, etc.

  • there are indian gurkhas tooooo

  • Yes! 4/3 GR ho ki hoina? HO!!!!

  • Nice! 3rd Gorkha Rifles pipe band, Indian Army - which battalion? I see some of the bagpipers have 9GR insignia as well, so am guessing they are from the 39 GTC (3rd & 9th Gorkha Rifles Training Center, Varanasi, India)

  • this is 4th Battalion of 3GR

  • my father is from 4/3 GR ty for posting this. i know ur brother served in this same unit. God bless him.

  • the best are in the british army.....we pay the best. x

  • @swlondonlad20 Why would that inspire a soldier to put himself in harm's way?

  • @sonamkapadia because hes no a tosser like you. ayo ghurkali.

  • @sonamkapadia be a soldier and find out. instead of making chapatis at home.... haaaaa!

  • @MrJimmyboy1972 Too late for me to do that. Every solider that I have spoken to have put salary after a number of other things that inspire them to serve the country. Since you have served, you might be able to better comment on whether the highest pay would inspire to make the supreme sacrifice.

  • @sonamkapadia i joined the army because i wanted to, i didnt think about the pay. a soldier who fights for the highest pay is known as a mercenary. i served my country, not for money, just to serve. i was a soldier not a paid lackey. i did it for my country.

  • @MrJimmyboy1972 That was exactly my point to swlondonlad20 that by paying the highest it would not inspire soliders to fight and put themseleves in harm's way

  • @sonamkapadia the ghurkas fight for their future, just like every other british army soldier.

  • @sonamkapadia Where did he say anything about being payed the highest?

It simple said we pay the best....as in the people are the best. They are professional about it too.

  • @Opul3nce I don't think you have commented at all before

  • @sonamkapadia we all know that a taliban commander was beheade by a gurkha. we all know that a gurkha took on 30 talibans by himself. we all know that a lone gurkha killed 4 indian train robbers and chased away the remaining 40 dacoits. now watch this video and see gurkha bruce lee doing his "everybody's kungfu fighting" and emerging as Asian champion.

here's the video ---> Barja Kumar Rai: Kirat hero of Nepal - 11th Asia Full Contact Final

  • @diliprai with all due respect, it is not a real fight. It is just a competition!

  • @swlondonlad20 come to Kashmir any day of the week son, you'll know who's the best when you hear 'Ayo Gorkhali' resound at 18,875 ft above sea level.

  • Is that this Gurkha service in india??

  • Yes...India has 6 regiments of the Gurkhas and Britain has 1 Brigade and Singapore and Brunei has them as police forces.

  • check this video "the way of the gurkha warrior" and you see a Gurkha with his ceremonial Khukri decapitating the buffalo during the Great Gurkha Festival call Dashera.
