  • what is whole rack?

nice tune though i never spotted any mistakes(as the tune passed me:)

i thought radius was good enough2learn n play with a synth?

and as4m3 i would have thought that would b the more bland out ov the pair ov the synths?

  • I really like your setup with Radias. And the improv is cool too! As far as Radias is concerned is the learning curve a steep one or not? How flexible it is when it comes to sound design? How did you attached it to your M3 keyboard. very sweet looking combo (M3 + Radias). Thanks for sharing. Make some more videos!

  • VERY NICELY DONE!

  • Really good performance! I want to get a RADIAS to go with my M3-88, but I don't know if I want to pay double for the rackmount version rather than just get the board. Convince me :)

  • @EdSalisbury

well... the sound is the same, electronic probably also.

The main difference is with the access to features. In Radias-R You have all important things in front of You - easy access to all functions. EXB-Radias is much more difficult if You want to control all things.

  • @AkselPL If You want Radias just to use programs like a presets nothing more than this then You should buy EXB. If You want create sounds, manage it in realtime and learn the techniques of synthesis etc. then You should buy whole Rack.

  • So you have the exb-radias chip for the m3 & the actual radias rack?! I didn't know that they could both be used together! very nice.

  • @zbirdmusic

    Positive;)

This is very good thing to have two of them ;)

  • Yes these M3 with Radius can be bought at good prices today

and give you lots of control and outputs and inputs.

  • @alphasxsignal

True, but In fact You cant buy Radias-R as new because it is discontinued;)

  • I guess the Kronos has replaced all of this.

  • @alphasxsignal

The FL Studio XXL edition could replace all of this in fact ;) I Could sell all of them and buy Kronos but there is no reason for do this. Here i have more control, more flexibility, and more resources than one Kronos ;)

I have 18 audio out channels and 42 midi(program) channels so i can correct in mixer 18 signals in real time if i want, and use more than 35 programs if i need. Now, how many outputs you have using one kronos, and how many programs you can play simultaneously ?

  • @AkselPL

Of course this is without plugged fire-wire module to M3. If i have firewire module then i will have another outs.

  • @AkselPL Check out the Groove X-R it can play your VST from your midi board and run

    up to 10 midi boards.

  • @alphasxsignal

Sorry i dont use vst plugins. If i need i use only EQ, Limiter, Compressor and Spectrum Analyzer :)

  • @AkselPL Well you are doing a great job with your equipment.

  • @AkselPL Just hope your equipment never breaks. Getting it fixed could be a problem.

  • @alphasxsignal

I hope too. btw check my video "trance live performance" ;)

  • So if i would buy a M3-73 and a Radias Board i could use the sounds/programs/combis/ whatever from the included board plus Radias?

  • @BOEINGPILOT777

After install the EXB-Radias You have 4 Radias channels.

As You know M3 have 16 channels, after install You can choose 4 channels to work as a radias channel and 12 as a M3 channel. Of course You can activate only 1 channel of radias then You have 15 of M3.

  • I own a classic Triton and am looking at videos to get informed about more recent instruments, and maybe upgrade ... I was not sure about the M3 while looking at Motif XF7 and Kronos (not sure the M3 is so big a step forward compared to Triton), but what you're showing here really sounds great !!

  • @jm5477

Well... in technical aspect it is better because m3 was the first next gen synth(i mine in technological point) but if you have enough cash buy kronos ;)

  • @ThePukkadj

    true

  • The Radias is able to be racked on the M3?

  • True, good job... No amateur would hear any misstakes ;)

  • O.K. minor mistakes, still awesome performance, great job!

  • By the way i love the vid man...

  • @Magnificent68

The Radias gives the m3 new synth engine, believe me if You buy M3 than You should buy exb-r ;)

  • Is this a better buy than the korg kronos??????

  • @Magnificent68

Probably yes, but there is much difference in price. I still dont play the kronos so i cant give You my opinion. I just heard like everybody else what it can and cant.

  • Hallo. Mario

  • Very nice

  • How does RADIAS help to enhance the M3?

  • So how exactly does this work? Does the Radias fully integrate with the M3? Or does it operate fully independent of the M3?

How do the modules communicate? Is it just MIDI (no integration) or some other standard included in the xpansion?

  • @ORUPRANKSTAZ

Unfortunately there is no exclusive communication standard, Only midi, but!

You can for example use karma to play the radias and change his parameters in real time. In M3 You have the external page where You can chose the Radias theme and then You have complete page on screen with the some parameters from Radias.

But there is no THAT integration what We want. The devices dont perceive each other.

  • @ORUPRANKSTAZ

Thanks man i really think is a better buy than the Kronos. Because you can get the m3 88 key and the radias exp board for 3600 and the kronos 61 key for 3200 so Thanks man.....But How is the radias actually helping the m3?

  • Wow.

  • Ah, cool. The 73 is my interest for the organ touch. I find that synth stuff is alot more easy and fun to handle with spring-loaded keys. It also lets you still combine the two modules. I guess I can also devide the 88-key Kawai when needed. Its also a really nice midi controler (also the only keyboard I know of that has acctual wooden, lead-weighted keys!). Thanks alot!

  • I've Made up my mind to get the M3, but don't have the space (or funds) to purchase the whole Radias set-up. My question is, if I were to mount the Radias rack onto the M3, am I looking at a challenge to operate both modules on the same controler. The M3 and my MP82 will make two keyboards already which is all my stand can hold.

  • @tuckandrollification

    Ok, now i can answer.

The best configuration would be M3-88 or M3-61/73 and another keyboard.

If You buy the 88 then You can easily partition half space for M3 and half for Radias.

in case when Radias is the base of song(percs, basses, arpeggios) There is possibility to "play" Radias without keyboard but for me this works only when i need to change the chords for arpegiators, The Radias have 16 buttons/steps/keys they works like a 16 keys on keyboard.

  • @tuckandrollification

according to korg the m3 module and the radias mod will fit on the korg m3 76 or 88

the 88 will hold 2 m3s if you wish. or an me and a radias. the 61 will not hold both

  • @supertaco22

I guess my question is: can you seperate the keys so one side controles one mod and one side controles the other.

  • @tuckandrollification

    Yes, You can!

  • mostly psychadelic-trance-rockish. Similar to a mix of pink floyd, nine inch nails, and progressive rock. I've got a Kawai MP 82 for a full scale, grand piano feel, but that's about all its used for. M3 plus Radias would be for trance like stuff on top of melody.

  • @tuckandrollification

Before i answer your question tell me, do You want buy Radias-Rack or Expansion Board to M3 ? Which one?

  • So is it dificult to operate both modules with the same keyboard?????

  • @tuckandrollification

Hmm... i would prefer 2 keyboards but i dont have enough space for second.

Maybe not difficult but also not so easy. All depends what You want to do. Give me scenario i will tell You what configuration will be better. ;)

  • AWSUM!!!!!

  • that was awesome!!! I really enjoyed those sounds.

  • I've got the m3 and are intrested in radias. could you please answer this? can you drive the m3 with radias arp and stepseq? I suppose so, but is there only one arp at a time in radias?

  • @idiomis

Well... You have 2 step sequencer and 5 types of arpeggio. You can run one type of arpeggio/step seq at one track. You have 4 track so You can 4 runs....

    Yes You can via midi.

  • @AkselPL

4x4 arp then? sounds very nice

and the seq seems also nice

    thanks

  • @idiomis

    Yop!

  • @AkselPL

I think I was wrong, well it seems it's just one arp at a time, but I have another quest if thats ok?, the audio in processing seems wery powerful, like u kan drive it through every parameter almost, is that so? and can you play vocoder one 1 timbre and audio processing on another at the same time? kind if you answer this

  • @idiomis

What You mine writing "u kan drive it through every parameter almost" ?

  • @AkselPL I mean processing the extern audio, sorry to bother you but I have read a lot on forums today, and it seems to function with som modulators and so, lika a wha wha and more

  • @idiomis

You have the "audio in" as oscillator this is for synthesis.

Also You have one audio in/line and one audio in/mic. You can send it via effects, filters etc.

I really suggest go and check it in the shop. In fact this is very simple and intuitive device;)

  • @AkselPL

well they doesn't sell them in sweden anymore, thanks for answers though, I probobly order it from germany, seems like an intresting maschine

  • @idiomis

Probably the Radias will be discontinued soon:( First the Oasys, now the Radias. People speaks there is possibility that even M3 will be abandon soon.

  • @AkselPL I think so too, have to get an R3 if worst scenario occure then ;)

  • Nice sounds!

  • sounds mighty this radias thing and about chords program so fat chords you now about on the eight knobs and you will be amazing what is happend then)) have fun and make great music. nice to see this radias and korg m3 .

  • @ballademaker

    Thanx

  • do you need to have both the m3 and radias hooked to monitors?only have the radias module atm and getting the m3 later.i know the cable that comes with radias needs to be connected to m3.

  • @NeoOne110

In my case the radias and m3 are connected via 2 jacks( radias out L/R to M3 in 1/2), 2 midi cables, and the korgs standard cable. The monitors are plugged to L/R in M3, also the M3 is connected to PC via Toslink. That You want to know ?

  • @AkselPL yes that explains better.now i know i need 2 more trs cables to hook radias to m3.i got 2 midi cables so good there.thanks

  • @NeoOne110

but remember one thing, in that configuration the signal from Radias will be always processed by the effect of m3. There is no way to bypass the Total Effect slot in M3 (of course you can just leave it empty without any limiter compressor etc.) because all inputs are going to Total effect(and also insert if You want) slot and then to the outputs.

  • Wow, nice job! So, is the Radias worth the money?

  • Its depends what You want:) Radias its not only "the dancing lights" ;)

  • Great!
