Great demonstration. A few years back I watched this video and it convinced me to buy a Bit One. In turn the Bit One became one of my favorite synths ever. It's very easy to create beautiful sounds with it.

Is it just me, or is there a certain 'sameness' to the sounds? If compared to my Yamaha AN1x (which obviously is a totally different beast), that has a much bigger sonic range. Or is it just the particular sounds that you like?

Everything he played could be made with a Bit99 too. I didn't hear a sound in this vid, that a Bit99 isn't able to do.

The Bit One, at least in the models I've tried, is definitely somewhat warmer, but also a bit more unstable. This would make sense because it's the earlier model ; the Bit O1( diffferent synth that was the rack module) was a bit different and the last version I think , after the Bit 99 in 1985.

it's "bit one" not "bit 01" .. the "bit 01" is the rack model of "bit 99". confusing eh? :)

Very early First run on BIT One series wear 6 SSM2044 Filters IC. All other models Bit one, Bit 01, Bit 99 wear 6 CEM 3320 Filters. All versions wear TL082 Dual JFET Amp.
