  • Yeah he's good but i think Adam D from KsE is way better!

  • I wonder in what band he would be if he wasn't in Limp Bizkit.

  • @Gunnar192 It's called Black Light Burns. He sings and does guitar. And if I'm not mistaken his brother Scott Borland is in the band.

  • @Swissjar549 Ah that's awesome, thanks for telling me this! :-)

  • reminds les claypool style so much

  • guitar god

  • It reminds me bass solo from song called Metropolis by Drem Theater

  • completely mediocre.

  • @MrAntihumanism It's interesting that you say that - here is a guy that's giving you a glimpse into his world ie not just a technique. You can hear how those simple, off the cuff demonstrations, pretty much were the basis for Limp Biscuit. I don't think he's trying to impress anyone here. He's just trying to spread some ideas around.

  • its a yamaha cv820 wb string special built for wes

  • Never digged Limp Bizkit but I've always respected the creativity that this dude brought in the band. I love his style.

  • Why does Borland have so many haters. He has his own sound and it's a cool guy

  • what guitar model is that?

  • That's how Wes did Stalemate

  • It really sucks that this guitar is going to be discontinued .... This guitar sounded perfect for me when he played it at Rock Am Ring :/ and I don't have the money to even get it.....

  • @ed391929 so buy the amp and effects he used and buy the same pickups and put them in a different guitar with the same woods

  • I do this all the time hahah lol

  • Guitar. God.

  • @mckaganfan not just a guitar god....but a song writing god, and even a singing god....and a god of unique as styles and rocking the fck out

  • Anyone else hear "My Name Is Mud" in that groove at 1:05?

  • @stevesellers: Nope, I just hear Sour from 3 Dollar Bill Yall. Too fast to be MNIM.

  • @PooPoo2U well then u have a bad ear

  • @stevesellers Was thinking of Primus myself when I heard this.

  • @stevesellers no lol

  • @stevesellers Not really, but the bass riff from that song rules

  • i thought he played 7 strings excslusively

  • The Yamaha CV820 WB is a damn good & beautiful guitar!

  • Right you are. But still, he could be in a band where his talent would literally glow.

  • @waxarlequin Hearing this he'd be pretty good in a progressive type of band...Maybe Tool needs an extra guitarist? haha

  • that was cool

  • Why isn't that man in some greater band than the shit-tub of LB?

  • @waxarlequin If he enjoys playing with bizkit all of these years why should he change bands ?

  • @UkesNStuff Your an idiot

  • HE DIGS PRIMUS!!!

  • so that's how he did sour :)

  • @NachtLabMusic exactly what i thought :)

  • Wes does and always has had style that reminds me of tool. He needs to find a good band and dish out more and more of his "droning" riffs of awesomeness.

  • @bobofdeathtoall lol yeah, wesborland and adam jones are my top guitarists cuz they got that similar sound

  • tosin abasi does that a lot and he is very good at it

  • Yeah. Percussions on a guitar. Nice! He should team up with Fieldy. That would be an awesome thing to watch/listen to.

  • I like that. It's very Les Claypool.

  • Man I want to learn how to do that, any good vids or tutorials out there with similar technique?

  • its magic

  • reminds of les claypool tappin on his bass... i don't know why

  • i found tabs on musicradar but i can't fucking figure it out

  • i wish that guitar wasent 1500 bucks or id buy it

  • 11 people can`t do this^^

    By the way me too^^

    anyway *Thumbs Up*

  • this is why Wes is the best guitar player

  • So underrated :/

  • Amazing.

  • so this was the technique he used in the song stalemate?

  • MONSTRUO!

  • Awesome!!!!!!

  • Genius? Chris Broderick!

  • God. there it is. he's a god.

  • I dont care if Fred Durst is a hated man in Music or if fuckin Wes Borland is an egoistic prick all i fuckin know is ive seen this band twice live and each time they have kicked me in the ballz as well as millions of others...limp bizkit is a fuckin great band and thier live show fuckin rules.

  • all of you people saying he's a genius... look harder. He's got nothing.

  • @zackh i disagree.. he's not a shredder. But, he is a great musician.

  • wooooooooow.... cant wait for gold cobra :D

  • I know that fred durst make seem like a douche, but my twin went to a their concert this last summer and he said fred was very nice and not cocky at all. He acts like that on tv to sell more, no other reason

  • he's not playing

    he's caressing the guitar

  • Tosin Abasi must have gained some influence from Wes.

  • mansos amplis!!!, la viola q se qda atras jaja

  • maybe it's not the most difficult stuff ever, but for me it's one of the most CREATIVE styles to play! and that's why this guy HAS to be more famous than he is right now!

  • Stanley Jordan.

    NOT wes boreland

  • @alexanderthewraith Stanley Jordan plays a little different then this, His way of tapping is waaay more complex...but your right, same idea

  • @BeardShorts

I guess he's doin' somethin' right ain't he?

  • he is god.

  • I like Limp Bizkit, before this I thought wes was a horrible guitar player now I think he is pretty good he is not a malmsteen or a michael angelo but he has his style!

  • this reminded me of Les Claypool lol

  • @AOchoa8A It reminds you of Les Claypool because thats who influenced his two hand technique.

  • @StlyeFree : John Otto? lol But I think, Wes don't care :D

  • That was fucking amazing! He's so underrated.

  • I Wish I Could Do That...

  • awsome guitarist

  • I totally agree. Wes is of the most underrated artists and musicians of the late 90's to the present day. nobody gives him props. The first time i heard him on the first Bizkit album, I lost my shit. It was unbelievable. What a genius.

  • @justinmarsh69 good to know that there are ppl who think like me

wes is one of the best musicians i have ever hear and hell i can say he has his own style very specific

  • tapping like Dream Theaters Bassist John Myung

  • hes good on what he do.

  • cool

  • SOUR!!

  • i shred but i started playin shit from lb first album like sour n indigo flow n it does take skill n it really fun

  • Wes rockzzz ... is he really underrated???

  • God, Wes is the real God, i cant w8 for limp bizkit new album, i just want it now

  • He uses this technique in the song Rearranged. Pretty cool.

  • The guitar's kinda out of tune... just a bit...

  • LOOK AT THOSE MAD FINGERS!

  • sounds like a bass slapping like flea.

  • I would be easier to say that he plays just like Les Claypool.

  • i luv this guy

  • i think it sounds brilliant :)

  • Why is skill an issue at all?

When I like a song, I could care less how musically talented the players are. I just know they created something that spoke to me. I like Wes just as much as Satch.

  • @Strutlikejesus yeah i best al the shred fags out there couldnt play this first try so stfu.

  • @SithJohn93 im sure i could figure it out and im a shredhead.

  • @Strutlikejesus Wes Borland hardly ever uses this technique in his songs!

  • @Strutlikejesus if the player isnt musically talented, then they wont make something you wanna listen to.

  • @bucktheusa: skill is always involved you moron. people get really sick of hearing you satriani and vai fans trash everything that doesn't have 50 notes per second. if we wanted shred, WE'D LISTEN TO SHRED! since we don't, we're here listening to wes borland so piss off!

  • I think he's blind from wearing those stupid contacts.

He's just making those noises trying to find his guitar.

Please don't try and put this guy up on the best guitarists in the world list.

That's just laughable. But coming for LB fans I guess you don't know any better.

  • @bucktheusa: you see, that's precisely why real musicians hate shred idiots. you try to make music into a contest. the fact you'd even make a "best guitarists in the world list" makes you a fucking moron, it's all music. what you like is what you like, but that doesn't give you any right to go around trashing what other people do. seriously, grow up you ignorant moron.

  • @PooPoo2U That made my day.

I wish more people thought that way...

  • @PooPoo2U THANK YOU!!!!

  • @PooPoo2U So you're saying Jeff Loomis isn't 1 of the best guitarists in the world?

  • @Ithyphallics: I didn't even mention Jeff Loomis, but since you bring it up: no, he isn't. If I were a big enough prick to make a list of guitarists by skill he wouldn't even be in the top 10. Hell, he wouldn't even be in the top 10 in the shred category ALONE simply because he isn't proficient or exceptional even by shred standards.

Van Halen, Paul Gilbert, Shawn Lane, Alex Skolnick, Jason Becker: all better than him, and even all THOSE people would be behind Michael Angelo Batio.

  • @PooPoo2U That's only 6 players. Becker is better then all of those anyway. Loomis is clearly in the top 10 when it comes to skill, clean, and composing. Also, no Vinnie Moore, Malmsteen, Marty, etc etc.

  • @Ithyphallics: I didn't include all of them, just a short list. 500 characters wasn't enough space.

Also, I even before Becker's health problems I seriously doubt he was as technically skilled as Batio, and certainly not faster. Plus, none of those other guys can play both necks of a double neck guitar at the same time.

  • @PooPoo2U Chris Broderick could. Probably any guitarist that started off on Piano could.

  • @Ithyphallics: Batio is ambidextrous, Broderick isn't. Most shred guitarists cringe at the thought of trying to play like MAB.

  • I thought this too before I ever read the other comments...Parts of this sounded so Les Claypool..ie. Primus...Funny thing I remember James Hetfield of Metallica saying one time. When they were auditioning new bass players after Cliff died, Les came by and James said ah Les you're too good man LOL

  • thats the kinda effects he plays in sour from the three dollar bill album

  • TUNE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this sounds so crazy, this sounds like three dollar bill yall

  • @l1i2m3p4 He did this a lot on that album.

  • He should get more credt. Problem: one of the most hated ppl in the music industry is in his band. You know who I'm talkin about...

  • chad kroeger?

    just kidding :D

but is f.d. really that hated in the music industry?

  • yea. Maybe not so much anymore since he hasn't done alot lately, but most people you ask (even many LB fans) think he's a dick.

  • @StlyeFree yeah durst ruins that band hes like the second most hated person in music. hint number one is in creed.

  • @StlyeFree who? the lead singer of limpbizkit?

  • @StlyeFree Yes, DJ Lethal! XD Just kidding.

    Anyway, about the video: watch?v=R-FDGYMnccU

    Ditto.

  • @StlyeFree i dont who??

  • @cptG100 fred durst

  • @t1mmy13 ho ok thanks

  • @StlyeFree Yep, Durst is hated cuz he's a bitch.. but in actuality Borland is egoistic prick.

  • @StlyeFree Hey dude, I've heard and read so many times that Mr Durst was really hated, but I haven't been able to figure out why so far (it's probably linked to things he might have said during interviews I guess, but since I'm French and Limp Bizkit wasn't that popular in the European medias at the time it was on the road, I've actually never got an explanation about it). Could you please tell me what's wrong with this guy ?

  • @PierreRHCPfan06 He's very greedy and self-absorbed. He has pissed off a lot of well known musicians with his attitude including Wes Borland. On top of that, a lot of people think his music is laughable, particularly his lyrics.

  • @StlyeFree All right, that makes sense, I understand, thanks man !

  • @StlyeFree wait, hes greedy? Self-Absorbed most of the time maybe, but then iv'e never sceen him as a greedy person, but he does have that chip on his shoulder attitude. Then again i've never met the guy,

  • @RKOboring9 Well, I probably shouldn't have said greedy because I don't know his true intentions. I just inferred that he was greedy based on how his personality is, but who knows.

  • @StlyeFree yeah, I guess Fred does got a point, people don't know him yet they judge him. He must of been one of those kids that let the world shape him, instead of him shaping the world around him... damn that sounded like some sigmund freud shit

  • @StlyeFree fred durst

  • @StlyeFree its john otto right? lol

  • @StlyeFree I think if the music indutry spots a talent they shouldnt care about the rest of his band. I mean, its not what a grown-up should act like, dishonoring somebody just because he doesnt like his friends. And I like FD and LB pretty much, maybe thats the fatal flaw in my statement, not being able to make an objective comment without my own opinion influencing it, but, like I said: I wouldnt just state that FD is the reason for his "unpopularity".

  • @thechosenone42 It's not that Wes Borland is unpopular. It's that Fred Durst has given LB somewhat of a bad rep, and that includes Wes Borland. If you're in a band where the lead singer is having all this negative controversy stuff going on and is writing lyrics that are considered almost laughable by the general public (and I think some of his lyrics were actually meant to be funny), who's going to take you seriously?

  • @StlyeFree This is true. But all that was ages ago. Fred has changed a bit and isn't the egotistical douche he once was. Follow his twitter, watch recent vids, he's seems much more chill. Lyrics wise? The serious LB songs feature great lyrics (Re-Arranged,Walking Away). the others are just fun. He even said it recently "We're not meant to be taken seriously." It just sucks that the damage he left all those years ago still leaves it's mark.

  • @StlyeFree

    john otto?

    Bazinga!

  • hed be kickass bassist

  • i agree..believe it or not he used to play bass at some point in time ago...

  • He said in an interview that he gets his tapping technique from Les Claypool.

  • I thought this had a very Primus feel to it

  • lovin the sound man

  • Im glad I don't bitch about peoples playing on youtube, laaaaame.

  • GOD!!!!!!!!! love wes.....

  • Il est super bon ce mec en revanche il sait pas aligner une phrase ...

  • I agree, andey mckee could tap him into a serious coma.... but... why even compare them? They are completely different. Wes isn't a bad guitarist by any means.

  • P.S. Bsides it doesnt sound clean, AT ALL!

  • Yeah exactly, this style of tapping isn't anything like what people usually think of when they hear "tapping". Not screamy little high arpeggio notes. So yeah, good comment. God I'm so sick of little wiener boys trying to turn guitar playing into some over-competitive pissing contest, aren't you?

  • nope, i am plenty competitive piss. i have been playing for 10 months and have played 5+ hour days every day and i still enjoy it. pissing competition guitarists = (Y)

  • Nice guitar!

  • Jeez, no wonder he left Limp Bizkit.

  • they're back

  • Almost sounded like it had a Primus influence

  • I agree

  • Does anyone know the tuning Wes usually plays in his songs? LB or BLB....

  • Drop B

  • limp bizkit - almost everywhere C# tuning

  • he has a good sound

  • he is really creative

  • yeah! two hands on a guitar, why didn't I think of that? that makes it so much easier!

  • that shit is hard

  • I mean, this is cool, but it doesn't really sound that good. I think I would get tired of listening to this after about half an hour (like a Van Halen solo). I could listen to some guitarists all day.

  • he's a fucking genius! So underrated guitarist..

  • @zolf1988 because he is in the worst band ever

  • @zolf1988 This stuff is ok. But if you think it's genius, you really need to expand your musical horizons.

  • @gringochucha its about taste and style, u cant simply compare guitarist, maybe you are the one who need to expand your music horizons and knowledge

  • @SeasonsBar Estás dando jugo.

  • @gringochucha

    Too true.

  • wes is one of the most creative of this generation, he should get more credit

  • i think thats pretty cool

  • sounds like myung's metropolis tapping section

  • your mouth smeels like shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit too!

  • Holy crap! hes actually a good guitarist.

you could never tell listening to Limp Bizkit

  • you know thats a riff from the limp bizkit song Sour. just slightly altered. If you listen to the right limp bizkit songs and not Rollin or shit like that you'd hear it.

  • haha kinda like a country version of Sour

  • wow..really cool...

  • sounds something like of limp bizkit's song sour
