That black cop called Smooky looks like a real bad ass. He looks like it's allright to be called Smooky lol.
I remember those clips with Ruppet Jee and the damn fat psycho of Leonard who was always talking so loud. It was in 92 I think. It was the best moments of the whole Late show.
Letterman USED to go out HIMSELF and "bother" people. he started that on his original NBC show with a great bit called "WHATS IN THE BAG" asking strangers to show what they had in their bags. After he got threatened a few times be started sending OTHER people out to bother people LOL
I like when Rupert when to McDonald's and ordered twenty quarter pounders because he wanted to make a five pounder and then only had ten dollars to pay for it.
Wow David is the biggest button pusher ever, love him for that.... Anyway, I could never do what Rupert did, people freak me out, esp. New Yorkers. I'd probably crack and start crying, yeah I know that sounds wussy. Hahaha
Flashback! I remember when this aired back in the day. I was probably 10 or 12 at the time and was watching it with a friend. One of the funniest things we had ever seen. I never saw the skit again until today.
As a person who works at a retail store, seeing Rupert annoy the living hell out of those patrons was deeply satisfying. Go Rupert...I mean go Dave and Rupert!
I didn't think it was that funny...I guess that's because I've seen so many shows with better practical jokers that Rupert...Anyway, you have your opinion and I have mine...Comedy is a very subjective thing.
Wouldn't hurt... I used to think Dave was taking advantage of Rupert back in the day, then I saw him outside the show... night and day, he is actually a fairly savvy business man, that handles the public quite well. I'm not sure if it's the cameras or he's just dumbing himself down for the immigrant stereotype... he's still funny...lol.
Man thems was some hard ass NYC lesbians at the end there. To fucking stupid to know it was a joke. Their hatred towards men was just soooooo intense.
I went to the Hello Deli in 2002 and Rupert was standing there working the counter. I bought a coke just so that he could hand me .25 cents in change.
I remember when this 1st aired, and I remember thinking that those 2 little petite, rich new york bitches with attitudes had obviously never had the dog shit knocked out of them. Because anytime a sensible man threatens "kick someones ass" or make them "die", & gets in someone face, he knows he better be able to back it up, or he may be the one who ends up in bad shape. Yet these little women are all gung ho, tough. Gimme a break! Even little Rupert could turn out their lights in a second.
You've gotta trust that people will have composure. Nobody shoots somebody just for annoying them, nobody overreacts that badly. And I think Letterman would save him and come out if something serious happened.
HAHA :) ... I THINK " iadoreElijahWood " pretty much said everything I wanted to say to you , after that oh sooo " presumptious " comment you made ... haha ...

Rupert Jee isn't very convincing...If they'd made an actor do that, it would've been more comedically effective.
fishandfestival 2 years ago
No it wouldn't. Idiot.
panictactics 2 years ago
I'm an "idiot" because I made a simple comment on something that doesn't really matter one way or the other at this point in time?...Get a life!
fishandfestival 2 years ago 2
Yes, you're an idiot for making a dumb comment on something that doesn't really matter one way or the other at this point in time.
panictactics 2 years ago 2
And you're inebriated with the exuberance of your own verbosity!

I'm telling you why so many people think Rupert is funny and why he has been a staple of Letterman's routine for the past decade.
ernestalba 2 years ago
I've seen a lot of Rupert's sketches on Letterman, and a lot of them are funny...I just didn't find this one funny, that's all.

fishandfestival 2 years ago
No... the whole point is that Rupert's a total amateur who looks like an idiot when he's talking.
It wouldn't exactly be funny if you had Will Smith making it look real... because it would actually be good.
PrUnEJuIcEtHeThIrD 2 years ago 5
Yea, I get that kind of humor...I like Rupert's work on Letterman...It's just that I didn't like the piece above, that's all.
