  • That black cop called Smooky looks like a real bad ass. He looks like it's allright to be called Smooky lol.

I remember those clips with Ruppet Jee and the damn fat psycho of Leonard who was always talking so loud. It was in 92 I think. It was the best moments of the whole Late show.

  • Star Craft, Compaq Computers, and Hewlett Packard...playing cards and short books for sale.

  • rupert jee... is an asian..... HA HA HA HA HAH AH AH!!

  • does rupert still make appearances on dave's show? i haven't seen him on lately...

  • @purplejade01

Yes, quite often. I'd say he appears on the show at least a few times a month.

  • hilarioussss!!!

  • I DON'T WANT YOUR THUMB IN MY GLASS!!! GET OUT OF MY FACE!!!

    ROTFLMFAO! LOL! HA! HA!

  • I remember this, ..it was my thumb !!!

  • I've been to the Hello Deli recently, and Rupert hasn't aged!! Must be the platter.

  • at 6:12 the girl in blue is actually laughing

  • touch me....you die.......ok, tough chick.

  • I went into the Deli last year while visiting NYC and Rupert was the nicest guy in the world. Cheers to him. Classic comedy...

  • Oh man I used to love Dave sending out Rupert! Thanks for posting this!

  • Letterman USED to go out HIMSELF and "bother" people. he started that on his original NBC show with a great bit called "WHATS IN THE BAG" asking strangers to show what they had in their bags. After he got threatened a few times be started sending OTHER people out to bother people LOL

  • They stopped doing this bit because a guy pulled a knife on him.

  • I like when Rupert when to McDonald's and ordered twenty quarter pounders because he wanted to make a five pounder and then only had ten dollars to pay for it.

  • Wow David is the biggest button pusher ever, love him for that.... Anyway, I could never do what Rupert did, people freak me out, esp. New Yorkers. I'd probably crack and start crying, yeah I know that sounds wussy. Hahaha

  • i remember the rubber glove gag from when this first aired like 15 years ago. i love that those bitches didn't have their faces blurred.

  • @pistolpete111 - I heard he actually got smacked....probably after calling someone a "hump" or something. heh

  • i think this is where mega64 got their skills from lol

  • That's simply hilarious.!!! :-) Ha..ha..ha...

  • Flashback! I remember when this aired back in the day. I was probably 10 or 12 at the time and was watching it with a friend. One of the funniest things we had ever seen. I never saw the skit again until today.

  • hahahaha stayy higfhhhhhhhh

  • LMFAO .

  • haha I love it when they did this stuff!!!! :D

  • anyone remember Sirajul and Mujiber? They too made me laugh!

  • I used to love when they did this stuff.....rupert had balls

  • As a person who works at a retail store, seeing Rupert annoy the living hell out of those patrons was deeply satisfying. Go Rupert...I mean go Dave and Rupert!

  • lol ..damn david is gonna end up getting him hurt..lmfao

  • it almost happened and they ended this because he was threatened with a knife

  • Comment removed

  • hahahhahahahah i havent laughed so hard in a long time. and haha i just met Rupert 3 days ago in his deli. it was great.

  • I was actually inside the cafe where Rupert was screwing with that Lady and the glass

  • At the time?

  • gene garofalo? lol

  • one of my favorite letterman sketches of all time. So good.

  • funy as hell.

  • This is very funny but Dave at Taco Bell is even funnier.

  • How those two girls showed enough restraint to not bash Rupert across the face with a chair is just incredible . . .

  • I think I waited on that woman... a few dozen times.

  • dave must have made rupert a rich man from all this publicity

  • hmm

  • Rupert Jee isn't very convincing...If they'd made an actor do that, it would've been more comedically effective.

  • No it wouldn't. Idiot.

  • I'm an "idiot" because I made a simple comment on something that doesn't really matter one way or the other at this point in time?...Get a life!

  • Yes, you're an idiot for making a dumb comment on something that doesn't really matter one way or the other at this point in time.

  • And you're inebriated with the exuberance of your own verbosity!

  • Thank you.

  • Its funny because he isn't convincing, yet they still get mad at him.

  • I didn't think it was that funny...I guess that's because I've seen so many shows with better practical jokers that Rupert...Anyway, you have your opinion and I have mine...Comedy is a very subjective thing.

  • I'm telling you why so many people think Rupert is funny and why he has been a staple of Letterman's routine for the past decade.

  • I've seen a lot of Rupert's sketches on Letterman, and a lot of them are funny...I just didn't find this one funny, that's all.

  • go kill yourself.

  • you first!

  • No... the whole point is that Rupert's a total amateur who looks like an idiot when he's talking.

It wouldn't exactly be funny if you had Will Smith making it look real... because it would actually be good.

  • Yea, I get that kind of humor...I like Rupert's work on Letterman...It's just that I didn't like the piece above, that's all.

  • I remember when this aired. To this day I think it's among the funniest bits they've done.

  • Wow... being a little harsh about a 5 minute skit on a late night talk show aren't we?

  • yea, maybe i need to watch the skit again and appreciate it for what it is.

  • Wouldn't hurt... I used to think Dave was taking advantage of Rupert back in the day, then I saw him outside the show... night and day, he is actually a fairly savvy business man, that handles the public quite well. I'm not sure if it's the cameras or he's just dumbing himself down for the immigrant stereotype... he's still funny...lol.

  • Classic

  • Hey Smokey, c'mere! lol

  • does dave still do the rupert deli thing? i havnt watched the show in years but i used to love these....

  • Nobody is as sharp, and can ab-lib like Dave.

  • Man thems was some hard ass NYC lesbians at the end there. To fucking stupid to know it was a joke. Their hatred towards men was just soooooo intense.

Yuk ,people like that make NYC stink.

  • @gmajorspresents

"Thems some"??? OMG.... Stupid? Are you serious??? Talk about the pot calling the kettle black....LMAO

  • This was the great

  • I went to the Hello Deli in 2002 and Rupert was standing there working the counter. I bought a coke just so that he could hand me .25 cents in change.

  • i think you mean "25 cents" in change. .25 would be hard if not impossible to give.

  • Not too many people watching this would do what Rupert does! Very risky behavior!

  • rupert FTW

  • "you touch me, you die".

    New Yorkers are all talk.

  • ya but they have to be

  • @idahovandal that is so true, all talk and no bite

  • LOL, too bad late night shows aren't like this anymore!

  • lmao, i loved the rubber gloves part

  • Letterman was much better back then. Tonight Show will always suck.

  • LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLlLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

  • Damn he does look the same.

  • That was hilarious!

  • thanks so much for posting these videos i wish i had them on dvd

  • Rupert still looks exactly the same!

  • so hilarious!!

  • insanely hilarious. Dave's show used to be incredible

  • I remember when this 1st aired, and I remember thinking that those 2 little petite, rich new york bitches with attitudes had obviously never had the dog shit knocked out of them. Because anytime a sensible man threatens "kick someones ass" or make them "die", & gets in someone face, he knows he better be able to back it up, or he may be the one who ends up in bad shape. Yet these little women are all gung ho, tough. Gimme a break! Even little Rupert could turn out their lights in a second.

  • That chick is pretty brave to eat food carried to her by a person that she's been yelling at.

  • it totally makes me in stitches omg hilarious

  • The funniest thing is hearing Letterman laugh in the background lol! Dave is the best!!!!

  • This sadistic bastard. hahahahahah

  • ohh this is so classic, I remember watching this with my brother and thinking it was the funniest think i had ever seen.

  • wow ! too presumptious on david's part ,

what if rupert was dealing with a mad person

with a gun ??? ... i think david should take time to think about that too :( ... it's real and unpredictable out there you know ?

be cool in a deeper way david ...

  • You've gotta trust that people will have composure. Nobody shoots somebody just for annoying them, nobody overreacts that badly. And I think Letterman would save him and come out if something serious happened.

  • you know ? you are a very presumptious person ... if you can predict everything that can happen tomorrow , ... then ! you can

continue arguing with me OKAY ??? ...

  • HAHA :) ... I THINK " iadoreElijahWood " pretty much said everything I wanted to say to you , after that oh sooo " presumptious " comment you made ... haha ...

  • david , c'mon , have mercy on rupert ...

  • haha those bitches embarassed their ass

  • what a pair of fucking bitches at the restaurant

  • I remember watching this! All of these bits were the shit!

  • LMAO!!

This was back when Letterman was really funny. Great stuff.

  • OMG!!!!!!!!

    this is so funny!!!!!

  • Maybe the best Letterman sketch ever. Poor Rupert. I suspect they don't do this anymore because he was dangerously close to getting killed.

  • "who are you the queen of england?"

awesome, i wish they'd pull some more of this stuff!

  • Sadly, that segment isn't coming back. Dave stopped doing that bit after some guy got so mad that he tried to pull a knife on Rupert.

  • really?

    haha, thats quite something.

wonder what Dave would whisper in Rupert's ear as he was getting stabbed by a mob of pissed off new yorkers??

  • this is EXACTLY MY POINT . WELL SAID .

  • Easily one of the funniest bits Letterman has ever done. Got to meet Rupert the other day -- very down to earth, humble guy.
