  • My dads dads dad was a Germaican, my aunty sounds identical in every way to that lady.

  • @boboshantist odds are your aunt is related in some way to the women in this doc being that there are so few families of German background in the country.

  • @ForgottenFaces001 Ya my grandfather was biracial if you look at the side of their mouth it kind of droops, that was a distinct feature my grandfather had.

  • @boboshantist i am currently working on a full length documentary on seaford town and Jamaican German history subscribe if you get the chance so you can see it when it comes out you may see some people you know being i have heaps of interviews with many different members of the community.

  • Haiti in portland yes cause they run away from ther country & sneak in by the Boat but if the police our souldier catch dem they be Deported back ther alot of German in JA ther styll ther like in st.elizabeth & thats why the people over are so light SKIn we call dem red Nigga

  • @mtlsniper in Haiti Germans were put in POW camps on several occasions because that was during the world war 1 and world war 2 era and the USA had big influence in Haiti and did not want a German presence so close to the USA. but the Germans of Jamaica never had to worry about deportation because by world war 1 they were all Jamaican born citizens. and yes st elizabeth has nuff German history and some interesting scottish history as well

  • @ForgottenFaces001 ok thnx for the info man respect

  • @mtlsniper no problem thats why i make these projects

  • @ForgottenFaces001 kool keep up the Gud work & show more projects about jamaica that alot of people around the world dont know about

  • @mtlsniper thanks for the encouragement and i will just keep checking my channel and i will have more stuff in the future.

  • @ForgottenFaces001 your very wellcome friend ill subcribe two your padge so I wont miss nuthing

  • @mtlsniper The red n**** you are speaking of must be the relatively recent integration that has occured in the last 60 or so years amongst SOME people in St Elizabeth...but not all. But be daring and call them that to their face and I will be able to hear them cussing you from my location...lol

  • @Angeldelight1970 ok Angeldelight red Ni***ga thats what we cll dem so what the Hewll they gona do bouth it ? lol they been calling dem that for centaries & the indians are call collie u think they gona say something ?

  • @mtlsniper Guess you didn't finish 1st grade as you can't even spell LOL and you must be REALLY old if you've been calling them that for centuries.....as I said integration only began down there 60 years ago so go back to school and learn some maths LOL

PS; I urge you to learn how to spell....but check MY spelling it may help you

  • @Angeldelight1970 I guest you need two go back two school cause u dint finish any Grade you dont know nuthing about jamaica so its best you just go back were ever your fro you make any more statement.if you want two know aything about jamaica go live ther for ten years then you can thalk two me FOREIGNERS dont know anything but Beach & liqueurs & tourism resources thats not the real jamaica fool you got two come out does area & see it for your self Educate your self please

  • Yes my grandfather n his brother n I am not but my granduncle is yes in the 100s just before he recently passed didn't choose for it to be apart of my history but it is

  • that should read, 'wouldn't make much sense for these people, especially the older ones....another new country...Germany, another strange language...German, because unlike the Russian immigrants, they didn't preserve the language...but the younger ones would probably stand a chance....albeit a 'cold' one.

  • @Mrshardtoplease you may be very interested to find out several did go to Germany while some of the younger generation has plans of moving to Germany in the future i hope you get a chance to subscribe so you can see the interviews where this is mentioned

  • I wonder if anyone has ever bothered to inform these people that they have a right to return to Germany? Of course, it would make much sense for these people, but the German law states if you can prove your German heritage you can return to Germany.....like millions of Russians and Polish people of German descent.

  • @Mrshardtoplease well they are not Germans they are Jamaicans of German heritage being that they have all been rooted in Jamaica for 4-6 generations and they do not speak German or have direct contacts to Germany. thank you for watching

  • They went to Jamaica and were given hundreds of acres of land that none of the slaves were privy to. I also think the speaker didn't seem to research this history well.

  • @Mrshardtoplease you should research this information a little more. many did not make their way to seaford town until much later being they laboring in different areas of Jamaica there is much more to the story than you think but like i said i am working on a more detailed documentary that will be out very soon.

  • @Mrshardtoplease . i am not the speaker/narrator but i did write the narration and i am proud to say that i directed and produced and edited this project. the reason why certain information was not included is because there was very little footage being i only had 4-5 hours to film this project not because there was some agenda or lack of knowledge. but if you are interested in a more detailed project on seaford town subscribe i have a 1 hour project in the works

  • Thanks for that

  • @justice4all thank you for watching

  • my grandfather is of german ancestry but he's from St Elizabeth;a lot of white jamaicans are from there also.

  • @SweetCaramel7983 yes i wish i could have included st elizabeth in this program but my funding is very low and i did all the filming for this in one day. if i had more support and funding i would have went there.

  • @SweetCaramel7983 My fore-parents are a very well connected family from southern St Elizabeth Jamaica (and Cayman) and have been on the island from the time of Columbus and I can say there is NO German ancestry there, They are of Sephardi Jewish/ British/ Taino and in the last 60 or so years there has been integration with black Jamaicans.....until then it was strict-marriage between certain families. However by any measure we are not 'white' though to an outsider we appear so

  • Yes n definitely need the friends from my mixed culture to understand what I tell them about me when they ask me it will help with the puzzled faces n questions I receive so no I thank u please do continue n I will send follower to watch ur documentaries 3 :)

  • Ur welcome W's watching the Rest of the videos n sharing on my Facebook page :) n yes I subscribed :)

  • @MzkrissyBLove thank you so much for sharing the project it is the only way these documentaries and the information on them will be promoted

  • Came my grandfather unfortunately left his company in Jamaican n wants to take his children that he had with my grandmother was a mixed generation of Germans my grandmothers father was Syrian n German n her mother was said to have just been a black Jamaican woman but thank u for this documentary it Was a big help with understanding my history n the stores the adults n elders tell me my grandfather is gone now n my grandmother just died last year day before mother's day

  • Loved this video my grandfather is in the set that migrated to Jamaica was not able to meet him but this documentary pieced it together for me of the picture I saw of him n his brothers n mother it was in black n white they held luggage in there hands my grandfather was raised in Jamaica n had a construction company was a sea captain he went by the name Captain Winston Churchill Bodden (yes the last name was fifteenth my granduncle told me they changed it from what it once was when they

  • @MzkrissyBLove i am glad you enjoyed this project and i am doing all i can to preserve some of the information the elders have to share with us before they all die out.

I have a much longer documentary on seaford town and Jamaican German history that will be out soon. please subscribe to my channel to keep updated there were different circumstances for some of the people who migrated to Jamaica from Germany and i am trying to share all different theories.

  • @MzkrissyBLove Your Grandfather Mzkrissy, you must be over 100years old then eh?

  • I went on vacation in Montego Bay Jamaica where i became friends with one of the workers at the resort. He brought me around town to eat and play soccer with the community. I noticed some people disregarded my skin color whereas others shouted out bloodclot and bumbaclot and even said "white man don't play soccer". On the other hand others were very nice and welcoming and i made a lot of friends

  • @johnnybranca there is a segment to this documentary called Jamaican racial frictions. it discusses this subject in more detail and talks about how much of the Jamaican community is accepting and kind to people of non black descent but it also describes the hostility and racism that can be found in the country.

  • @ForgottenFaces001 But an element of racisim is found in every country of the world...it doesn't make it right but it's a fact.....so it isn't just Jamaica. Don't be too eager to publisize every element of your documentary.....it is interesting and needs to be told, but alianate or misinterpret Jamaicans at your peril

  • @Angeldelight1970 there has been no alienation within this documentary and no misrepresentation. this documentary does not deal with the subject of racism there is however a segment that does talk about racial frictions that have been present within Jamaican history take some time to watch it. but this documentary project is not about every other country it is about Jamaica and Jamaica alone so for me to discuss racial issues of every other nation would get us a bit side track

  • @Angeldelight1970 enjoy the documentary nice to hear from you have a nice night

  • @Angeldelight1970 and i am eager to publicize all aspects of this documentary being i am not ashamed or fearful of speaking the truth i feel that learning history and learning all sides of social issues makes us better people and i believe in freedom and freedom of speech and i do not fear people who do not hold such ideas in high regard. you may not but if that is the case you may have stumbled onto something not meant for you. thank you again for watching-David

  • @ForgottenFaces001 David I think you are a person who cannot take constructive criticism....you chose to critizise me re; freedom of speech. You do not know me, or the work I myself am involved in.....but possibly freedom of speech at one of the highest levels would spring to mind. But I sincerely do hope you manage to secure future funding and you don't have to begin asking your Youtube fan base for donations

  • @Angeldelight1970 sorry you feel i was attempting to critique your critique i agree with your post minus the feeling that i was attempting alienation or that i misinterpreting the Jamaican people

  • quite sad, very sorry for these people, especially germany's industrial might today. why can't they just repatriate to germany?

  • @blackpassenger the reason it would not be easy for them to repatriate to germany is because all of these people in seaford town are Jamaican born citizens who are 4-6 generations they are more Jamaican than German and most all of the German language is dead amongst people in seaford town. they gave been migrating in mass numbers to Canada and some to england, australia, and the USA. i go more in detail on this village in my next doc keep a eye out for it

  • this video of the suffering of the early germans made me very sad. i am also of german descent and grew up in jamaica

  • @shimme01 it was a very sad history and i will go into more detail on it on my new documentary on seaford town i am working on as we speak. please subscribe and i will update you when it is ready. there is much more to tell this was a very brief overview i have researched and found letters and writings from the early German migrants that illustrate the level of hardship they really faced

  • Jamaicans- OUT OF MANY ONE PEOPLE!

  • @mesgem i think most jamaicans agree with this motto but there will always will be some who dont sadly

  • @mesgem True that man.

  • st.elizabeth and few areas of manchester has german history too, jamaica is full of alot of different people, french in some trelawny,st.ann-portland(haitians), spanish in st.james-hanover-westmoreland.

  • @manovrsb Jamaica has so much diverse history and cultural roots and connections and i would like to film and cover them all if i can but right now i am working on a full length documentary on seafordtown that will go more in depth on its history and the history of Germans in Jamaica. i have another video about the chinese history within Jamaica if you are interested check my channel. i will be doing a peice on east indian and middle eastern and jewish culture in jam as well.

  • I did not say this video has any lies, this video is ok. The problem is you complaining about being hated on, but your trailer was hateful and deceptive so what did you expect. To ad more insult you played the victim, and act as if black Jamaicns didn't have any reason to critize your trailer. You seems to be intelligent, but you pretend to not know what all the fuss is about, even when all the racist appeared making ignorant comments about Jamaicans. You have some kind of chip on your shoulder.

  • @KarizmaticENT please watch the introduction, the segment on the chinese community and the segment on racial frictions in Jamaica there is much more to this project than a trailer and a segment on seafordtown. the accounts in this series and its trailer are all from Jamaicans who are giving their first hand accounts of what they have experinced as Jamaicans in Jamaica. black people were not even mentioned in the trailer it was simply clips of hardships that certain people faced

  • Interesting though a tad inaccurate. Jamaica is NOT an Anglican country and it is not unusual to see Catholic churches. What is more correct is the German design (whatever that may be)

  • @keof4361 interesting comment and more than a tad inaccurate because there are roughly 23 catholic churches in all of Jamaica now compare that to the protestant churches like baptist, 7th day, evangelical, ect ect. catholics are less than 3 percent of Jamaica so you are incorrect to assume that the catholic faith is a majority religion in Jamaica. come visit some time and i would be happy to show you around and help educate you on these subjects.

  • @keof4361 also let it be noted that there are over 200 active anglican churches in Jamaica and many more historic non active ones and about 23 active catholic churches in jamaica. yes a catholic church in westmoreland is much more rare than anglican or protestant churches. sorry blood but come back with something better before you critique me

  • @ForgottenFaces001 There are 23 listed Catholic churches in Kingston & St. Andrew. I did not say Catholicism was the major denomination. I said it is not unusual to see a Catholic church in rural Jamaica and although the Anglican Church may be considered the Church of State, we are not an Anglican country. I live in Jamaica.

  • @keof4361 well thank you for pointing out a semantic error excellent job of discrediting me and the work with such pettyness and i live in Jamaica as well come say hello some time.

  • @ForgottenFaces001 Never any intention of discrediting you. Really sorry you took my observations so personally.

  • @keof4361 please accept my apology for reacting so harsh i have gotten heaps of hate mail recently based on these projects and it has me over reacting. you are very correct Jamaica is not a Anglican country/majority i should have stated history or even said protestant country. there is nothing wrong with your statement and i hope you can accept my apology for reacting in such a way an

  • @ForgottenFaces001 Apology appreciated. Saddened that your work elicited hateful responses. It can only be viewed (and welcomed) as valuable, when our history is recorded and preserved. Keep going.

  • @keof4361 no need to be saddened by the hateful response he received, he deserved it. He had a trailer for one of his documentaries that was very misleading. His trailer attempted to cast non white Jamaicans as a group who were persecuted by black Jamaicans. Not sure what kind of reaction he would expect. As you can see the Germans chose to inbreed, rather that mix with the blacks. One has to expect some animosity towards any minorities that isolate themselves from the populous.

  • @KarizmaticENT i m very proud of that trailer in fact it is the trailer for this project. i encourage every one to check it and see it for themselves.

i suppose in your opinion the people of seaford town are worthless horrible beings but my documentary did not make you come to that conclusion your own racist predjudice did.

  • @ForgottenFaces001 No sir I celebrate Jamaican diversity, but your trailer is what it is, almost everyone reacted the same way. I am far from being racist, but it was obvious that you went for shock value. That trailer brought nothing positive, it brought the wrath of black Jamaicans, and probably caused some animosity towards Jamaicans. Some of us are tired of the negativity placed on us by so many. It tiring to always have to be defending ourselves from the lies and half truths.

  • @KarizmaticENT actually there are 104 likes and 6 dislikes so people like you are the minority in fact if you take the time to read the comments there are heaps of Jamaicans that big up the trailer. the trolls like you are still in the minority. and people enjoy this segment on seaford town as well have a nice day

  • @ForgottenFaces001 you have 104 likes, maybe from non Jamaicans who are mostly whites. Some of which are probably racist, some of which are probably just happy to see that there are white Jamaicans, and could care less whether this stuff is the truth or make black Jamaicans look like savages. Jamaica has a rich culture that a lot of people want a piece of. You probably have some Jamaicans who will like this also, because they feel priviledged to have white Jamaicans our country.

  • @KarizmaticENT so please share your opinion on this video dealing with seaford town. please point out all the lies and deception your feedback welcomed

  • @KarizmaticENT i was just thinking of you karizmaticent. i was checking my analytics for my your tube page and come to find the very few dislikes i have gotten on my videos are from the USA not Jamaica or any other Caribbean nation.

  • Thank you..very interesting. Delroy Hacker is my cousin, haven't seen him in years though my siblings have kept in touch with him. Looking forward to see other projects in the same vein.

    Once again, thank you.

  • @nowandagainX5 well please subscribe to my channel i am currently working on a full length project on seaford town and the history of the German migration to Jamaica. thank you for watching i am so happy people of Jamaican German background can are enjoying this project.

  • well done , very informative!

  • @prettygirljamie1 thank you for saying so. there are other videos on the way so keep a eye out for them

  • informative and very intresting thumbs up

  • @emeraldwarrior13 thanks so much. i am glad you liked the project.

  • @ForgottenFaces001 I just wanted to let you know that at 3:38 was my grandfathers headstone, Delroy Hacker is my Uncle Irvins cousin, and the picture at 5:44 is my grandmothers mom as a baby with her parents (Hackers)... I loved this video and it made me cry and miss my family back home.. THANK YOPU from the bottom of my HEART!! <3

  • @JaLadyG your very welcome the seaford town projects have been some of my most personal involved work and it makes me so happy that their are people from seaford town that see the value in this segment. i have much longer project on seaford town in the future

  • @ForgottenFaces001 I have subscribed to you and will definitely be waiting for that segment... I shared on facebook and there is quite the buzz going in my family now.. lol I still have family down there, with my uncle (grandfathers son) still operating a pig farm down there... God Bless!

  • @JaLadyG God bless you and i will be in touch as soon as i finish my next project on the Jamaican German history. i hope your family likes this. it is the people of seaford town i want to impress the most.

  • @emeraldwarrior13 i ahve another documentary in the works on seaford town it will be much more in depth. keep a eye out for it.

  • @ForgottenFaces001 will do

  • I do not totally agree with you. Germans low and middle class people were starting their migration in the Caribbean at the same period by 1835 and another group came via Bismarck, European-fleet at the end of 19th century. Most of them were rational and peered their minds over the wealth, the pride, the glory from generation to generation not over such poverty. Effectively those from northern part of Haiti, influenced by the social aspect, got and sustained their goal...

  • @timaliceetbouqui disagree all you like the facts were stated in this documentary the migration to Jamaica was under different circumstances and it is explained in this project.

  • ...whereas the Germans who migrated in Jamaica perhaps encountered at the beginning of their settlement a BLOCK, somehow, which handicapped them to realize their lucrative objective. Mixed with other ethnics or inhabitants slaves couldn't cause this poverty. The reality is your synopsis shows German people of the 5th generation in Jamaica who are living in poor condition. Hope they keep their German citizenship which could open a way for them to go back to their originate country.

  • @timaliceetbouqui there are records showing who the original germans were and their fields. they were not rich they were mostly very poor please keep watching the documentaries and i will have more information to help educate you on this subject. and no one in seaford town has a german citizenship everyone is a Jamaican born and raised for 5-6 generations.

  • @timaliceetbouqui again not in this case discussion closed if you want to learn more keep watching i am currently working on a hour long project on seaford town and the Jamaican German migration watch that if you want more info

  • @ForgottenFaces001

All right !!! friend. Just keep me posted!! I will watch your documentary closely. As reminder I am Haitian and my family ancestors are from Germany. I am so interested in your documentary just compare the info that I have, based on history books and real facts, to your research...

  • I've learned a lot just watching this video...so educational. I shall show this to my parents they are both Jamaican as well as the majority of my family is. They may not be as open to this knowledge as I am but I shall show it to them anyway.

  • @Erks3000 thanks so much for taking the time to watch and thank you for showing this to your family. who knows it may open their mind and give them a new perspective. if they are from the west coast region of Jamaica their is a good chance they may have some understanding on the Jamaican Germans of seaford town.

  • How come these german decendants are so poor in all senses while the ones from Haiti are so rich????

  • @timaliceetbouqui as the documentary stated they are descendents of indentured servants as many suspect while others have different ideas on the Jamaican German migration one thing is for certain they are not descended of people with wealth while Haiti only had business class with great wealth or at least middle class influence.

  • I am wondering if they couldn't get help from the Germay via the German Embassy.

  • @starapplebaby there was no german embassy in Jamaica for many many years being england and Germany had very bad blood for a very long time. the embassy in more recent times has made visits and i think they helped build a vocational school to help people get jobs. several European priests have also helped the community but little attention has been given to seaford town and it has been suffering in recent years even more so.

  • @starapplebaby but i nthis day and age the German embassy can do little being that seaford town in a Jamaican village and the people of seaford town are all Jamaican citizens not German.

  • @ForgottenFaces001 . Sad. There is a Jamaica German Society with lot's of rich influential persons. They must can help somehow. They have a page on facebook too.

  • @starapplebaby i have tried to contact them i have yet to get a response.

  • @ForgottenFaces001 Wish I could help somehow. THey need someone who knows about community development. It has been done in other places. I will keep updated here. I just posted video on facebook.

  • @starapplebaby thank you so much for sharing the video it means much to me. word of mouth and grass roots is the only way this project will e heard

  • How can I get hold of the whole documentary?

  • @palsos123 i will upload more as time goes on subscribe to my channel and i will keep you updated

  • This is Great, We need a something like this done on the people in South St. Elizabeth, I always thought the people there were of German decents as the have the same "look'

  • @tferg00 st elizabeth does have German history i hope to go there in then ear future and film. i am glad you liked this.

  • @TypiKelly AMG i been there too

  • Not to long ago I asked my mother who is Jamaican if she ever heard of Seaford Town aka "German Town" and she said no. I might be wrong but I don't think a lot of Jamaicans ever heard of Seaford Town. I never heard of Seaford Town until I started doing research on whites in Jamaica. Anyway I love this clip. If I get a chance to go to Jamaica again, I want visit Seaford Town and go to at Germaican museum.

  • @DaBigSun i have been spending alot of time in the st james/westmoreland area these days. if you even need help getting there just email me i would be more than happy to introduce you to some people in the area and get you to the sights in the seaford town area

  • @DaBigSun I've heard of Seaford Town! That's where I'm from :)

  • @TypiKelly - That's cool that your from Seaford Town! People must think your joking when you tell them that your Jamaican. Some people think my mother is not Jamaican because she's not black.

  • thanks 4 sharing ...... we appreciate it ! cheers
