@tptuble :( Sadly this car dosen't come in diesel in my country yet.& the agents for hyundai r so piled up with orders that it would take more than a year for this beauty to arrive.So I went for a fully loaded Sorento,that too takes about 8months :(

PANEL GAPS??? I dont know what the hell are you talking about....I see the same panels junction spaces (may be what you people call "gaps") like in any other model or any other brand that I have seen. So, I really think you are just looking for a reason to say something bad about the car, Misters Perfection. A gap would be if you can see the clips or the screws securing the panel in its place or a total misalignment between panels, and this is not the case.

panel gap can actually be a intentional design element that adds on graphic look on the surfacing.

Saw the yf sonata. Totally disappointed by the uneven panel gaps & surface & lines of the car not flowing natually into one another...Only thing I can say is that the FORM they were trying this time was too difficult for the parts manufacturers to make properly & that the designers didn't communicate well enough with the panel manufacturers to make sure the panels lined up well with each other & to make all panel gaps even & narrow all throughout the car.This is unprofessional work by HYUNDAI.

보넷끝부분의 큰 단차와 사이드스커트와 차문의 일정하지 못하고 큰 단차는 YF의 큰 두문제로 보입니다. i30, 아반떼, 제네시스, 모두 보았지만 YF에서만 보이는 이렇한 페널단차의 '들쭉날쭉한' 모습은 찾아 볼수가 없었습니다.

이렇한 '들쭉날쭉'한 단차 문제들 때문에 저는 YF를 포기하고 camry를 기다리고 있습니다. 이렇한 사소한 것 같으면서도 중요한 부분의 '감성품질' 때문에 일류브랜드(도요타)와 2류브랜드(현대)가 정해지는거지요. 안타깝습니다... 현대는6 년후에 다시 고려해보겠습니다.

In a few years hyundai will be on the top 3 list.

Toyota, honda and hyundai, but with the development speed hyundai is moving toyota and honda better watch out.

all others like Ford, GM , and Chrysler don't stand a chance against Hyundai. hyundai is getting so much better every year that it puts american car companys to shame, it also makes me wonder what GM is doing with our tax money. (probably giving their employees more bonuses)

Ford, GM does not have a chance?? i'm sorry, even though i don't really like GM and Ford, their new cars looks promising. New Tauruas is freaken, awesome, Buick Lacrosse looks really good. And Ford recently made profit for a very long time. But i do agree Hyundai/Kia are growing really fast. Their new generations are terrific while other brands are in a queue. That is why i like Hyundai/Kia!

For its price it will fairly compete with Honda & Toyota.. I had chance to drive 2009 sonata and it's mad quiet & smooth.. suddenly better than Accord.

If anyone look for affordable family sedan Hyundai will be one of the top choice..

Got a chance to look at the Sonata today in person.

2 major problems.

1) Hyundai needs to fix the MASSIVE panel gap between the bonnet & grill. It looks like the bonnet is not closed properly.

2) Styling found inside TRIES to give a feeling of a Near Luxury car, BUT fails bcus materials inside& tactile feel of the switches are no different from what is found in an i30 or elantra.

Conclusion: Don't think you'll be getting a car that encroaches on the Azera territory. It's only the design that is a little bit more fresher than before. Other than that it is just a humble midsize car.

I agree with you on the panel gap.. and youre probably right about the quality of the interior materials too.. BUT whether this model received any major upgrades or not, with this new design, it will sell like hotcakes because Sonatas always get decent reviews for what it is.. I guess my point is.. this Sonata will be a BIG hit regardless of its flaws.

Just hoping they fix the Panel Gap.I compared the panel gaps on other Hyundai models to the new Sonata& was shocked at some visible inconsistencies found in the panel gaps& also two misalignments in how one separate panel surface flowed into the other(eg.side skirt panel not aligning up well with the rest of the body that it is attached to& gap inconsistent with the rest of the door panel gaps,& the front edge panel surface of the bonnet not flowing nicely into the front face surfaces) on the YF

Problem is, Hyundai did not make these (careless?)mistakes on its other models in their line up like the elantra, i30 & Gensisis Sedan. All panel gaps on these cars looked consistent& all panel surfaces lined up well with each other giving a sense of respectable quality. I think htere is no doubt that the quality is there underneath, but I'm afraid people may get the wrong idea bcus of what they see on the outside. Worried that they may have ruined a perfect chance of beating the camry & Accord.
