I just don't see what others see in these fights. Gatti seemed to dominate and outclass Ward in all 3. With Ward's lumbering one-punch style it seems his only virtue is being able to stay standing by the end of the fight. This fight was especially telling since Ward fought a one-hand fighter and still couldn't do anything. Gatti looked superb in all 3 fights, doing almost everything a fighter is supposed to do: combinations, footwork, hitting both head and midsection, pacing, etc.

No... the first one was better. Two boxers don't need to be the best in their class to produce a classic match, it takes heart and balls to stand in there and fight... give the crowd their moneys worth. If you don't think their first match is legendary then i'm sorry you're in the minority.

This one is great too. Gatti could've jumped on his bicycle and took the last couple rounds off (he had the match) but he's not that kind of a fighter. If you don't like it don't watch!

I just have to say that these three fights elevated boxing the heavyweight division was just as bad when Gatti - Ward was happening as it is today. but in the lower weight classes the greatness displayed in Ward vs. Gatti can still be found if you know were to look. I hope people understand how amazing these 2 guys truly are. Not just as fighters but as men of valor and the highest degree of sportsmanship I have ever seen in the ring. I only wish the boxers of today would take a lesson from these 2 warriors. They left nothing in the ring through all 3 fights. True fighters fighting because that's what they do. Simply amazing guys. I remember watching this fight and just thinking OMG what PRIDE. Boxing has got increasingly bad because money has now poisoned the sport so much that the real fights people want to see don't happen, and the boxers (not fighters) often go in the ring with a negative attitude just seeing the rounds through so that they can pick up the big payperview check at the end...Really sad!

@paulgranada i saw an interview with one of the writers who said they were originally going to include the trilogy in the film if ward had won the third fight but because he lost they saw it as a downer to the film and decided to leave it with him winning the title as they thought it was a better accomplishment i disagree though this trilogy is ward and gatti's best contribution and achievement to the sport of boxing and i hope they make a film of it.
