I like this game despite that it's a difficult game to play. For starters, the Thunderbird is very difficult to defeat. The only two things that I dislike about this game is that they don't have hearts appearing randomly from enemies like in the first one and there's no map so at times, you might get lost on some of the difficult levels. But I digress though. It is a good game nevertheless!
This game may be slightly different from the one before it but I consider it one of the greatest NES games of all time. Got me through some hard times in childhood, so I guess that is why I like it so much.
I've never been a huge fan of this particular Zelda game... it just had such a different feel with the side-scrolling view. The whole game looks like it was made by a entirely different group of developers when you compare it to the first Zelda, and Link to the Past.
It is not really a lvl up. You dont have to accept the upgrade in attack, life or magic once you reach the points needed to upgrade. That way you keep the points and can save the points for another upgrade you want. Cause you dont lose points when you cancel.
Hard as tits, but I'll be goddamned if it ain't fun. Would like to see another Zelda game like this, with a slight Metroid-style to the map layout, and not that CDi fuckshit.
I think most people don't care for this game because it strays away from the"norm". I used to not care for it as well. I was like, What the hell is this crap? But after i got older, i noticed i actually liked it.
@pbawesome yeah i keep forgetting that people only watch longplays of games they enjoyed playing. Most people who have played all the zelda tiltes would disagree with you. The one zelda game that was practicaly a flash game on a home system was way worse though :(
Even though it's a tough game and I've never beaten it (I can get to the last palace but that's about it) I still love this game. It has great music for an 8-bit game.
Battle of Olympus is way better :p

This game was the precursor of GTA.
In this game hookers can replenish your health, but you don't have to pay anything, ha!

Basically when you close to finishing the palace look at your points,
for example in palace 1. he should have skipped the life and magic upgrade, wich would have given him the option to get attack for 1000 points.
When you have that option, just kill the palace boss and, voila, free 1000 point attack upgrade. And so on.

Question: Why do you say "cancel" sometimes when you level up? I don't get that.
BTW, I didn't know those floating skulls were destructable.

@MushroomBoy64 Because he's saving his hearts for another attribute. I level up life and attack before magic.
