At the end of the day, the decision is entirely personal, however the build and lastability and pure abusive nature you can lay down on the CS, well... the Recon Tanto wins each time.

To snowlobo fir retention I have a dog tsunami and I moved the vel cro down to the hilt so it can have no exposure.

@TheLateBoyScout Your friend there has a nice knife. His best bet would probably be to get a custom kydex sheath. If he shops around, he can most likely find one cheaper than expected.

i think the tsunami is more suited for combat and the recon more suited for more survival use.  i think the tsunami looks better.

Awesome! Love the wear on the Recon. Looks experienced. I think I'd choose the Recon for many reasons, but one of the main reasons would be the sheath. Though, it wouldn't be impossible to custom make a kydex sheath for the SOG.
