Thanks for the upload, I've been looking for something like this. I remember as a kid collecting this in a box, and waiting for it's metamorphosis. By the end, when it was a butterfly I didn't want to release the monarch into the nature.
i saw this one caterpillar who had markings on it's back that looked like google eyes, and when i poked it, a little orange "tounge" stuck out. wth is this bug?
"la dee da la deee-OH SHITT!! WAIT! WAIT!!! WHATS HAPPENING TO ME?!...fuck...fuck,...aww damn! ..ow ow ow ow ahhhh crap!......what! i cant se---I CANT SEEE! NO no noooooooooooooooooooo.........crap....>_>"
Very cool video! My daughter, who is four, is so fascinated with the transformation from caterpillar to butterfly. So, this was a big hit with her. Could you tell me how long it takes for them to do that? Thanks again! :)
ok so i saw him boucing i was like i guess it like starts bouncing and weird shit comes out and makes it a cucoon next i see him spliting im like WTF!!
Can any of you that know about insects help me. I can't tell if their maggots or a worm or a catapillar. Its yellow small but kinda fat. It wiggles to crawl and has a black head. I don't know if it helps but I live in Anahiem, California.
I ordered 10 painted lady butterflies (caterpillars) one's in it's pupa stage right now and another is just hanging upside down, but not moving. They're cool.
Awsome vid! I'm photographing 2 monarch chrysalides on my fence. Just a couple days ago, I had as many as 23 monarch caterpillars eating up my milkweed plant. They munched it down to bare sticks in no time, but that's cool; that's what I planted it for. Next year I'm planting more!
last summer i had the privilege of being hosts to little monarchs. it was an awesome experience. my garden was littered with monarch butterflies by the end of summer!
I raise and breed butterflies (just cause I love em!) and I love it! I actually have a caterpillar right next to my computer who's going through that process right now!
U sick idioit! If you hate nature that much go commit suicide and go to hell! God worked hard on his creation! (Yes, I'm proud to say I'm a christian!)
If you have a milkweed growth area close to you, you're all set. I think you can also mail-order milkweed seeds, because, hard-to-believe; there are some sites that actually do that. Then, hopefully a fertilized female will come and lay an egg on the plant, and leave. Five days later and you'll have a tiny, tiny Monarch caterpillar!
what the fuck that was awesome... wow i love it please do another but like idk jst do something cpooler wow i love it it makes me feel all naught its wierd i love it wow... that it all...

excellent - I can now show my granddaughter the stages of a chrysalis and now we will wait.... to see what happens to her chrysalis - hope its not too long!
i dont think it's spliiting in half. It looks more like a slit that leaks bodily fluid covering the caterpillar to form a chrysalis. if you wanna see a war with a person's own body, look up G.U.I.L.T.

Actually, Believe it or not, He's really splitting open! Like how they shed... It's kinda creepy huh?
saintsalive1234 3 years ago
Actually, it's not a cocoon. Cocoons are made of silk, and are spun around the insect. Chrysali are "grown" out of the insect.
