The thing with Matt Bellamy is that he's fluent in scales and keys, so even if he isn't playing the tabs from the recorded version, he will always be playing in the correct key and scale. So call it a mistake if you will, but it's still musically correct.

Yes, Mistakes. He does still improvise but to a much lesser extent as he used to. But yes, if you've like me to go through the 19 Muse gigs I've been to and go through all the mistakes he's made that were simply mistakes and not improvisation I will.

When I said "Or certainly was" I was referring to him becoming a lot cleaner, which is detrimental in my opinion. Matt Bellamy used to make quite a few mistakes when playing.

You're talking crap mate, I've been watching, listening and playing Muse songs for 11 years. I love Matt Bellamy, he's the reason I started playing guitar. Muse are my all time favourite band (Well, before they went rubbish anyway). How many times have you seen them? I can tell you everything about every guitar, effect, amp and bloody lead Bellamy has used and I guarantee you one thing, I've never heard anyone make as many mistakes live. They just happen to sound great.

they play to some tracks. like they play this song to a metronome, but i'm not sure if they have any tracks playing behind them. i think the bass hits at the beginning are tracks, because chris isn't playing them.

hysteria and stockholm syndrome have enormous amounts of tracks in them, for harmonies, and synths and stuff. but never lead vocals, as far as i know.

if you type into google 'muse gear' youll see every thing they use including the microphones... matt uses a speacial one because he likes singing from away from the microphone most of the time. Also to get your voice to sound that falesto sound that matt has you have to produce the sound like right in your throat or your nose almost so your mouth doesnt have to be open all the way.....

If you watch carefully his lips are vibrating, just only marginally open. He's pushing through the sound with his throat with some force - you can only do it with falsetto, not normal voice. I can do it but it doesn't sound anywhere *near* as good.

Matt was born with female vocal chords, him and dom got his throat x-rayed to find out why he can go so high, and that's why :P He also he sings very loudly from a stand still, he prefers to almost shout it with most songs, only going slightly quieter on slower songs :)
