It's actually analyzed by science and apparently it works the muscles in your abs that aren't worked by doing crunches. Examples: Arnold Schwarzennegar and Frank Zane.
Is it a good idea to hold your breath? I was under the impression that doing so can cause the blood pressure to go up. Also, how many times and how often should you do this and can it be done in place of crunches?
@robertom2002 If you do this daily, it strengthens your core... I do it 3minutes 3 times a day... Doesn't give me a six pack, but sure as hell tightened up the area..
@TheMrVogue If there's no pain, there's no gain. There's no pain here. It's too good to be true. That's 9 minutes of inconvenient hassle for you every day. 9 minutes out of your life each day
Youtube "Core cork screw". She has a whole load more better ones too.
@1091Floyd21 arnold himself recommended these in his book along dozens of other pro bodybuilders. The excerise is use to tighten and tone the TCA witch is responisable for your waist line.
@1091Floyd21 Yes Arnold Schwarzeneger, in Arnold Schwarzeneger: The New Encyclopedia of Modern Bodybuilding. Pg 561. ""vacuum pose is not only impressive onstage, creating a much smaller waistline and exaggerating the size and fullness of the chest and rib cage, but also helps to develop abdominal definition and gives you the total control of the abdominal muscles that helps you avoid letting letting your abs bulge the moment you relax and stop concentrating on them."
@robertom2002 of course you can't get a six pack from doing this, but doing this in addition to a normal ab routine will make your mid section thinner and keep you from getting distended abs (aka pot belly abs)
@HunterCG She had nice breasts too. I saw her later, fully clothed, and was surprised she didn't look as hot; and then relised how young she actually was. Believe it or not, I'd actually consider it.
I was talking to a young hot girl the other day in the sauna, & I swear, from the vagina up, stomach did not protrude any bit what ever. I wasn't so much that she was skinny. When ever I suck in my stomach that far, my ugly ribs show, and yet hers did not; I couldn't figure it out. Less than one in a 100 seem to be that genetically blessed.
Am I right in saying the core muscles are the ones down the very bottom of the stomach. It's those ones I want to have sucked in. I feel like there're the key to my problem of the fact that my belly sags slightly. An exercise as easy as this seems a bit to good to be true though. I thought, to get results like that, you would need to do alot of strenuous exercise.
This exercise is not about losing fat, it's about strengthening the inner abdominals so that your posture is better which can make your gut look smaller. Not lose fat idiots.
What point is the vacuum workout? I undersatnd it is supposed to work the transverse abdominus layered below the oblique, but how? There doesn't appear to be any lengthening or shortening of the muscle fiber with the workout. Can someone tell me how this is effective?
@beaubrent it simply draws the transverse abs inward, resulting in your whole waste line/ abs being drawn inward so they don't become blocky or distended looking, for example Google distended stomach
Digestion and especially for woman, you have to be knowing what you do with this excerise as it is not simply for abdominals and never for this whole imagery situation of goaling for a certian "look". This is a very advance excersice and should be taken serioulsy, taught as such without playing around with the fact about why it not a waste of time even for beginner, but carefully.
This is an movement or excercise if you will, that is done in yoga for example and just in general for years as a stomatic cleansing as well as toning the inner form and spiritually as well in a deeper sense. HOWEVER, you must be careful as too many can really negate the whole purpose and cause many problems passed the physical/internally.
i know this looks crazy but really it is AWESOME. I don't do this, but it looks like my abdominal breathing that I do. Called lifelift. you can google it. I do 40 a day and just one session of ab breathing pulled my waist in an inch. I had smaller arms and everything. it was so cool. DONT do this too hard. Will hurt yourself. Just want to feel that you are doing SOMETHING. Repeat, doing to hard while lying down is BAD. But my stomach was flat, i hurt myself, but will do PROPERLY again

@robertom2002 The vacuum exercise is just to sharpen the v line, not tighten the six pack.
