  • oh no

    2012 he's actually doing it

    /watch?v=NZnZEL-LT6g

    quite the mirror held

itching to schratch that overgrown jaw and take off that monkey godforbid hat and

get the fuck on with keeping on , it's 2012 and teddy kendrix ain't getting any Junger, black pussycat

  • This Carson era had the most hideous couch and guest seat known to man...I almost have to avert my eyes!

  • haaaa what a hoot

  • Every few films, Burt would be without a mustache. Burt's next film would be STARTING OVER where he doesn't have a mustache, its obvious he was about to begin filming. This is not the last time he would do this on the show.

  • other guys were busting their ass to live.. tis was cheap thrills 4 otre personas

  • where did steve's bomb go?

  • Anyone that can leave Steve speachless or dazzled gains my vote as an "Wild n Crazzy guy" award.....

  • now this is a MAN....NOW THE YOUNG ACTORS ARE ALL QUEERS

  • burt reynolds, legend

  • I tried the same thing with my balls once. They look better shorn...

  • without the moustache he looks like a miz of roger moore and chevy chase

  • And here I was thinking that the best Steve Martin had to offer was Cheaper By The Dozen 2. This almost topped it.

  • @kwyjibo86 Are you familiar with Steve's comedy from the 70s? Not this guest hosting slot on the Tonight Show his stand up work. I assume you're young, check out his old stand up.

  • And here I was thinking that the best Steve Martin had to offer was Cheaper By The Dozen 2. This almost topped it.

  • fake

  • What happened to Johnny Carson back then? Was he sick or something? :(

  • Haha that's awesome.

  • cant believe he did it...lol..then Steve goes ..yea should a stuck with the stash..aweeeeeeeeee man...epic..lol

  • When was the last time someone shaved off their stash on TV?

    Martin...is a ...nothing.

  • You sure don't see spontaneous, fun stuff like this from talk show hosts and guests nowadays. Every sneeze is scripted now.

  • burt was so cool

  • i love this. I can't believe he did it.

  • ...yes, but in a car going 135 mph, in the South. Hilarious!

  • This is awesome!!!

  • Twoface!

  • I kinda like the shaved Burt. Looks younger and yummy too! :)))

  • I can't see most of today's "stars" doing something like this. Good to know Burt has a sense of humor, especially about himself.

  • Burt Reynolds IS!....a WILD and CRAZY!!! GUY!!!!!

  • Very cool!

  • Burt Reynolds would do films every now and then that would require him to shave his moustache. Each time he would go on Carson and shave it off in this manner. This particular time he was about to film STARTING OVER with Jill Clayburgh and Candice Bergen. So you see there really wasn't much to this except taking advantage of an opportunity. Tom Selleck did the same thing many years later for some film.

  • Burt Reynolds...Steve Martin....classic Hollywood at its best. They don't make coolness like that anymore. Both stars have done such awesome work!

  • Burt Reynolds is priceless. He is a beautiful man who makes me laugh. He could not look bad no matter what he did to his face, or what he stuck to his head. 75% of sexiness is confidence and Burt always had that. Love you Burt and miss you, so sorry we don't see more of you today

  • @melly918

I agree with you completely. Burt could always pull off any unscripted routine with success and laughs, even under pressure.

  • i remeber on the show evening shade burt fell asleep and his kid shaved half off

  • Geeze no drugs no breakdown.... Not a huge fan or Burt but he has balls!!

I like "without"..... that was crazy good.

  • hot men...

  • he looks like marlon brando without de moustache

  • There was never a dull moment when Burt Reynolds was on the Tonight show.

  • Imagine anyone, anyone, under the age of 50 today, who could pull off this unscripted segment with the timing of these two. Letterman and O'Brien and Ferguson and Whatisname stand on the shoulders of giants, and to their credit, they know it.

  • I don't know of any comedian who would do something this edgy on TV today. Maybe Jim Carey?

They are all so fearful now. Their agents would shit in their pants if they saw their star change their look right in front of 10 million people.

  • Selleck did the same thing (as a tribute to Burt's appearance). Both have done roles on an off that required to shave mustaches so every time they needed to shave they would go on a talk show to shave (might as well get some comedy out of it). This was the very first time though (for the filming of STARTING OVER and was planned in advance) and the other times never were quite as funny because you knew the joke. I can't think of any other actors known for their mustaches today except Sam Elliot.

  • @spanishlake Zach Gal.

  • @spanishlake I'm assuming you don't know that Reynolds was supposed to be shaving off his mustache for his then current role for the film Starting Over. It wasn't a spontaneous bit. They just sold it well.

  • @spanishlake well, Conan's about to shave his beard. Although, hardly his trademark ...

  • The reason this works is because Reynolds was a huge star at the time. It was a hip, surprising, off the wall thing for a major Hollywood guy to do, and it showed he didn't take himself too seriously.

  • Well, isn't that somethin'? Heard that "Good-time Burt" shaved Dom DeLuise' bingo dangler later that same night on Tom Snyder's LATE LATE SHOW . Shave it, Baby, shave it.

Could be rumor, but, hey, it is Hollywood and Reynold's was good jokester. You never know.

  • lol i cant believe he actually did it

  • THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for uploading this!

  • Halfache!

  • Burt was pretty good looking without the moustache. He shoulda left it off. Made him still look alot younger.

And Steve was vintage as always.

  • Now that's some classic TV right there.

    -jcr

  • thats actually pretty cool....

  • ROTFL! I know it makes me sound old, but they really don't make tv like this anymore.

And Burt was definately the fucking MAN back in the day.

  • Couldnt agree more. No celebrity on earth would do that now, just shows people cant 'entertain' these days!!

  • If your burt you could litterally shit on your own chest in public and everyone will still love you.

  • Love Ya Burt!

  • Poor Burt just wasn't very interesting in person... like most guys who are too full of themselves... hate to say.

  • Ain't nobody like BURT! I've been a fan for 35 years...he's the BEST! I LOVE THE MUSTACHE! He's quite a sport to shave half of it off in front of the world, but he's always had a great sense of humor!

  • They don't really make them like Burt anymore. Many stars today aren't secure enough to laugh at themselves. Today they take themselves so seriously.

  • How DARE you....

  • HAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHA!!! Burt Reynolds is a good sport! MAN that's funny stuff!!!!!

  • me encanta este video

  • Nice!

  • ONE COOL SOB

  • That must be the best electric razor ever made to shave off that thick a mustache in a matter of seconds. Must be back in the day when American products were actually made in America. What a concept.

  • what a sport

  • He just won some Fonzie points for this!

  • Burt is a revelation. Deadpan wit and Brandoesque in profile. A gem!

  • Burt Reynolds - Such a cool MF in his day!! They just don't make cool guys like him anymore!!...

  • Thanks for posting. Enjoy watching the old Tonight Shows.
