@dacads Did you purchased the B1? Usually it includes a shock mount unless you purchased a used one. The one that come with the microphone is quite good.
hey there, would you be willing or know of a tutorial on how to hook up the B1 to your computer, because I'm not sure on how to do it. I have a firewire 410 mixer
@ExampleGamer Not sure you have a firewire port on your computer if you have then you just connect the B1 to the mixer XLR connector and then the mixer to the firewire port on your computer. If you do not have a firewire port and is a desktop then you can purchase a firewire card.
You also need to switch on the Phantom power on your mixer for this microphone to work.
Other low cost solution is to buy a USB to XLR cable from eBay for about 15$ if the mixer dose not work.
@electrodacus i have a firewire port, is it the 4 pin one or the 6 pin you have to use? Also could you go through a firewire to usb adapter and connect it that way?
@ExampleGamer You can use the 6pin firewire if you have one on the computer if you only have a 4pin then you will need to use the DC power supply also to power the M-audio mixer since the 4pin firewire dose not provide power.
It will probably not work with a firewire to USB adapter.
If you have just 4 pin firewire on your laptop or desktop just buy a 6pin to 4pin firewire cable and use the included 12V 1A power supply to provide power to M-audio mixer.
@dacads Yeti is an USB microphone and is more convenient AT2020 is available as USB or XLR but both Yeti and AT2020 have small diaphragm I think about 16mm for the AT2020 also AT2020 has a SNL of 20db compared to only 13db on the Behringer.
Behringer B1 also has a much larger capsule 25mm or 1" and is more in the same class with AT2035
But it depends what are your needs. It will be music or voice over?
@dacads I will suggest the Samson C03U in your case is probably the best USB microphone for your application and if not then next will be the USB version of AT2020.
@CampKohler Like you can here at the beginning of the test there is a lot of echo because even if I record at the same time is not really at the same time and there is a little bit of delay between the three.
I will probably sell the other two the Blue and M-audio since I do not need them all.
I liked 2 a tiny bit better than 1, it's close (especially through the channel to my crappy phones). 3 was the clear loser, with less bass and a thinner sound (which might both be the same thing).
@CampKohler Yes the Blue sounds a bit thinner not much low frequency but it may be because the microphones are protected by a thick layer of sponge and they are further inside the case.
The low frequency depends quite a lot of how close you are from the microphone.
The Behringer has by far the better microphone capsule is about 4 time the surface of the other two and before compressing the audio you can here the difference not so much after that.
Hey dude it's me again xD Can you recommend me a shockmount for the B1?

@electrodacus Umm I will be using it for rapping so vocals. But for money I'm spending I'm wondering if any USB mic is better for around £95

Can you play all three in parallel, say to make a video's audio less sensitive to closeness to the mic?
