It's amusing that some people don't even consider British funk ... some very successful groups of the 1970s and 1980s were British, like Central Line, Delegation or Imagination (to name just the most famous) and I know many people who thought that these groups were American (including myself; I used to believe that, first...) ...But no, they are British (generally from Carribean descent...)
Errol Kennedy was the drummer in the American funk group Midnight Express, during the late 1970s , before he joined Leee John and Ashley Ingram to form the British funk group Imagination (in which he also was the drummer, and percussionist/background vocalist)
That's my good friend, Robbie Muskeyvalley & The Gang, MIDNIGHT EXPRESS!! This jam came out in '83. Damn, I happen to know everyone in the group back then...especially my step-brother, Reginald, who played the trumpet in this band.
@agfagaevart it's not brit funk, it's really american, i saw a interview of him years ago, on youtube, i lost the link, the interview took place in his home studio somewhere in usa.
Why cant you believe he said it sounds like Brit Funk? Its sounds EXACTLY like the style of Funk we were producing here in the U.K back in the late 70s early 80s.perhaps it is YOU that should do your homework and listen to bands like Second image,Light of the World ,Beggar and co,Atmosfear,Incognito,High Tension and Freeze to name but a few.Just because you know nothing about Brit Funk does not mean it never existed .
You are Correct. Its sounds just like Second Image ,or Light of the world.Ignore the comments of others, most of them still probably think there are no Black people in Britain.
Some many jams went ignored back in the day, luckily they all have received some type of revial through the internet. Dayton, Midnight Express, and so many others. I happened upon the music video by chance and it was great. A buddy of mine even got into it.
Usually I get annoyed by dislikes, but in this case its just laughable. Jokes on you sucker
